2040
In a wasteland miles away from any collateral damaged city, an aircraft resides. The very aircraft used for many benefits for users to accomplish a task or an assignment. Used for decades until a certain storm stabbed it out of commission, because of that storm. It was relied as the very means to undertake for the good of the people, and not use it in harm's way. Currently, it's held in a land of scarcely not any human, or alien, can be seen. Anyone in this year would know the reason, and they know that's how it notifies them that hope is lost. In spite of all the tragedies that are yet to devour Earth's sense of utilising the possible ways over the negatives, this aircraft still works.
A hatch layer slides down, unveiling four figures, in different ages. Two are in difference of 10 years. One of them, as well as another figure, a bound of 10 years difference. The last one, compared to a figure, that was contrasted with that figure, without doubt, holds an age difference of a boundary of ten years. All four walk, muttering if there is any threat coming to them, which they will undeniably be ready for. One of the four was still confused why he was sent in this year, and how did he take an disastrous excursion. Questions veil inside of him. For now, after learning about his presumed so-called allies, it doesn't disturb the man to follow with them.
They walked forward. One of them was about to lay a stance in the process of flight mode. Only to discern and hear the whirring sounds of a viewed aircraft, gliding down to their point. Three, of the four, shorten a fighting stance, though one of them, that travelled to this year, is still weak. The jet lands down, successfully producing its stand. The colours of its accent suggest to one of the four, that it's a jet belonging in the property of a particular organisation. A hatch opens up, revealing four humans. Four faces three can easily recognise.
"Aunt Thea? Roy? Dinah? And Zoe?"?, a man, in thirties, exclaimed.
Thea ran, in fast pace, running towards the same spot where the four lie in. Thea embraces a gestured hug to a close figure of hers. The same man that called her name.
"Thank God you're in good shape, William. Did she hurt you-?", Thea was crying, till she feels William trying to quiver his mouth.
"No! No! Me and Mia are fine", said William, briefly glancing to Mia, before turning back to Thea. "At least".
"Aunt Thea!", a voice of a young girl calls out to Thea, whom easily recognised the voice.
"Linda!", Thea cries, closing her arms with her niece. "Thank God for you to also be in good shape too". Her cuddle with Linda was times longer than William. "When I saw Kal-El and Sara's dead bodies, I was so-". Everyone, in an instant, heard the exact words that came from Thea's mouth, shocking all four of them. Even Linda, whom sculpted a glimmering depressed face, almost imagining a witness if she had seen Superman's death
Roy, Dinah, and Zoe, soon reached their point.
"Superman is dead?!", a man exclaims. His appearance shocks Roy and Dinah.
"We took the Javelin to search around the web of the world, then coming back to-", Thea stopped wording, when she saw his face.
"It can't be!", Dinah exclaims. "Superman couldn't sense or perceive your remains. No corpse or living body".
"What are you talking about?", the man, that has its appearance astonishing Dinah, Roy, and Thea.
"You were last seen in space, attempting to blow up a meteor, fused with kryptonite. It was destroyed, but seemingly at the cost of your own life. Every one of us, decades ago, missed you. Even Wonder Woman", Roy explains.
He remembers the last time he was conscious, prior to losing consciousness, he flew to space, to dismantle a meteor, set by Luthor. Took the whole energy of the suit to demolish it into pieces. It somehow transferred him to further depth of the year, which is an age of lesser human race, a despotism in the hands of a being with higher power. What astonishes the visitor, of this year, is Wonder Woman feeling hardened by his death, almost dropped him to feel sorry for her, but he quickly regained his normal composure.
"I was told I'm in the year 2040. I assume this world isn't is a place predictors didn't theorise in the face of humanity", said an aged man.
"Things have changed. Earth has been nothing but a hellhole for 5 years", said Zoe. Almost surprises the man as he widens his eyes.
"I still don't get how did he jump into our year?", Dinah raises the question.
"S.T.A.R. Labs examined the pieces of the meteor, Lex made to destroy Earth-1. With Superman. Apparently it had heat signatures identified to be similar to Apokolips, according to Superman", William explained. "I guess you could say the meteor's destruction somehow kick-notched Bruce over 20 years into the future".
"This isn't the first time I had caught in a field of circumstances like that", said Bruce.
"Yeah. Kara told me. Said you were killed by Darkseid. But for some unwavering reasons, you were still alive. Though you were streamed across multiple branches of previous centuries", said William.
"So now I'm learning that the all-knowing Bruce Wayne survived from two deaths, that left behind anonymous reckons", said Dinah.
"Going to have to deal with it. Our conversation isn't lied on about me anymore. I've heard from your teammates-", Bruce was cut off by Dinah.
"She isn't our teammates", Dinah directs Bruce to Mia, whom remained neutral.
"She is now", William proclaims, standing front of Mia, defending her.
"William I don't need your protection, I can handle-"
"Oh no, we are not having to go through with this", said William, revolving to eye with Mia. "Family is what matters the most of me, and I will do anything to shape it back, even if it costs me".
Mia only retorts a huff of petty annoyance, seemingly was bout to turn, before staring back at William.
"As you were saying?", Roy requested.
William instances back to the conversation, focusing back to his allies. "We're trying to make the Waverider function again. So far, we got Gideon back to function well", the latter said. "We used it to contact Nora, who was in 2019, letting her know we've got Gideon backed".
"And?", Thea requests a further dive.
"We're far from getting the Waverider back in full shape", said William.
"I'm guessing Mia took you to this Waverider to enslave you into fixing that abandoned ship", Zoe assumed.
"I wasn't slaving my brother", Mia claims, marching to close the distance between him and Zoe. "I needed his help".
"Doesn't sound like you when you hailed the role of king, of your tribe", Zoe shot.
"That's different", said Mia.
"No it isn't-", said Zoe, before being shut down by a loud voice.
"Can you all calm down. Fighting amongst ourselves will only delay. Kara killed Superman and White Canary. Some point, she will find us. We have to move onto whatever plan we are holding", Roy alarms, standing in midst of Mia and Zoe, whom both nodded in agreement to quiet down. Roy tilts to William. "William?".
"We were about to take off to Area 51, before you showed up", William claims.
"For what?", Thea asked.
"Just stuff to pile behind us", said Mia, indicating to the Waverider.
"It had pieces of dominator tech, from the fifties", said William. "Presumably it's abandoned, or not. It's our best one, out of this garbage, to get in hopes of finding the pieces to fix the Waverider's engines".
As William mentions, Roy gestures everyone to enter in the Javelin, not before when Bruce needed to stay behind, which they understood. As the latter isn't prepped with tools to help them. Linda was also told to stay behind, though she was quite against it, but was scaled outmatched. Bruce Wayne. The only man, they can look up to. The only man that was capable of, twice, neutralising Superman. With the plan settled, the big team took a course, by Quinjet, to Area 51. The only place to store alien sources, classified, concealed from the public eyes.
