Hey ya'll! I adopted this fic from a good pal, RamenLoverNaruto. They told me they killed the fic, and I stepped in. Vola~ My new fic. I skip the events of the War because it is currently unknown who wins, thus rather than drag this story out until then, I decided to: first, write about it on my deviantArt account, and secondly, skip it entirely.
Pairing:
NaruHina
SasuSaku
Hints of ShikaIno
Hints of KibaMisaki [[These two will get a side-story, don't worry]]
Hints of ItaTema
Alrighty, rundown... I created a few more OC's for the epilogue part as well as any future stories in this 'timeline'...
Firstly, Sai's waifu is named Rina Saito. She is a recent Konoha resident that works at the hospital with Sakura and Ino. She's Ino's height with lovely red hair and blue eyes, slightly tan. She's the mama to their twin daughters, Moe and Kana, while also being pregnant with their third child... Her personality is that of a mother hen, wanting to always protect her children, while also having a gentle side and enjoys watching Sai paint.
Now, SasuSaku are cannon, so no need for OC's... yet.. As is NaruHina and ChojiKarui.
Ino and Shikamaru have Shikadai and Inojin, Shikadai being an hour older than Inojin. Their personalities are the same as they are in the canon, so... But, Ino's expecting baby number three.
Shino has a wife, too. She's the opposite of Shino in personality, but reflects him rather well in other things. Her name's Risa and she has blonde hair with brown eyes, one eye often hidden by her hair, depending on her mood. She's rather pale and is as tall as Karui.
And, well, Kiba has Misaki~ In this, he moved to Kirigakure to be with her and she does become the Mizukage. They happily marry and she has their adorable daughter Maiko as well as a little boy named Keita.
Also... Itachi does die, but not before Temari has a little boy, Takaya Uchiha, Sarada's cousin.
Good? Alright!
Epilogue
"Come on, big brother! You're gonna be late!" A girl voice echoed throughout the house, a blonde boy coming down the stairs. "Me and Mama will cheer you on, so do good!"
"Come on, Himawari. I got it. Nothin can get me to lose." The boy said, getting Himawari to grin and Hinata to smile.
"Well, just so you know, your father'll be watching, as will Misaki-chan..." She reminded. "Just do your best, Boruto and you'll do fine."
"Ughhh. More pressure. Hopefully, this time dad'll not get kidnapped." Boruto chuckled.
"If he does, I'm sure he'd like it if you saved him again." Hinata said, remembering how, a few months ago, her Naruto had been taken protecting Boruto from Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ĺtsutsuki. Since then, he began to stop hating his father and now respected him and the title of Hokage.
Naruto was now the Seventh Hokage and often had little time to spend with his son and daughter, but he did try to at least send a few clones to help if need be. His marriage to Hinata was a loving one, where they would often joke about their past selves. Hinata stopped blushing altogether around him not long into their marriage and respected his job.
When Boruto was born, she turned into a housewife and enjoyed her time with him and Himawari when she joined a few years later. Both children were a good mixture of them, with Boruto being more outgoing for Naruto's attentions, while Himawari loved her brother as much as Naruto loved Misaki or Hinata loved Hanabi.
Boruto chuckled as they bumped into his teammates: Sarada Uchiha, daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, and Mitsuki. "Yo. Ready to beat it this time?"
Sarada rolled her eyes. "Geez, never seen ya so pumped."
"Well, if I'm gonna be like Uncle Sasuke, I gotta be the best!" Boruto said. "Say, is your dad even here, Sarada?"
"Mhm. He said that since Momoshiki and Kinshiki are gone, he has no real need to really travel much. Though, he promised, if he did leave, he'd let me and mom know." She explained as they made their way to the exam grounds, which had taken a few months to rebuild after the attack, but it was better than before.
Himawari smiled before pointing. "It's Aunt Misaki and Uncle Kiba!" She cheered, the two turning at that.
"Well, cover's blown." Misaki giggled.
"Meh. At least you can still surprise Naruto somehow." Kiba countered, Akamaru barking in agreement.
"Doubt it." Came the jab as she smiled. "You better make me proud, Boruto... Otherwise, I won't visit anymore."
"Come on! Will ya drop that?" He said.
"Nah." She giggled before she and Kiba went to where the Kage were.
"There you are." Naruto laughed. "Figured you'd leave me to Maiko and Keita." He said as the toddlers tugged lightly on his cape. "Easy there."
"Uncle! You pwomised!" Three year old Keita said, pouting while his five year old sister pursed her lips.
"Yeah. We get to watch with you and Mama and Papa." Maiko said.
Naruto rubbed the back of his head as Hinata joined them. "Alright. Just sit with Aunt Hinata, okay?"
"YAY!" The two cheered before they followed Himawari to their seats, leaving their parents to shake their heads.
Hinata sighed. "That's where they went?"
Kiba shrugged a little. "They're fine. As long as Naruto didn't show them any bad things."
Naruto placed a hand over his heart. "I'm wounded, Kiba. I'm not that kid anymore."
Misaki rolled her eyes and shoved his shoulder. "Yeah, yeah. Get movin. I gotta see if Boruto will win honestly this time around." She took her seat and put the hat in front of her as Kiba and Akamaru sat next to her, her naturally holding her husband's hand.
Naruto rolled his eyes and sat down as well. It took him awhile to finally trust Kiba again, but seeing Misaki so happy, he waived his anger in favor of her happiness. Since then, she became the first Mizukage to actually have a romantic relationship, which led to their marriage and the births of Maiko and Keita.
They watched as the genin fought, showing off their skills and, for some, moving on to the third round. Naruto stood and went to stand by the railing, eager to see Boruto use skills instead of using a cheating device. The other Kage joined him, all watching him fight Shikadai, the oldest of Ino and Shikamaru's kids, being a hour older than Inojin.
"Hey, bro." Misaki said.
"Yeah?"
"Doesn't this bring you back to when we went through it?" She asked.
"Does it... Man, we're old..."
"Hush!" Misaki whispered harshly. "We're as young as we feel."
"Says you." Naruto joked, watching his son fight before glancing behind him. "Nice try, teme..."
Sasuke chuckled a little and entered the seats, Sakura behind him. "Hate to say it, dobe, but I win this contest."
Naruto returned the grin. "I'll let ya have it... Considering that we're both right."
Sakura saw Maiko and Keita with Himawari and smiled. "They're more interested in talking to Himawari than the fight."
Kiba shrugged and pulled his wife to his side. "As long as they're havin fun... Speaking, think we should give them now or wait?"
Misaki pursed her lips in thought. "I think wait."
"Huh?" Sakura asked.
"Well, since Maiko and Keita are Inuzukas, they kinda need their companions." Misaki explained. "And Hana said one of the ninken here just had pups, so we picked out two we figured they'd love."
Naruto blinked and smiled. "Well, you know you're more than welcome to stay, Misaki."
"And give up my position of Mizukage? As if." She snorted slightly. "I happen to enjoy it.. Even if I use clones to lighten my load."
Sakura giggled softly. "Naruto does that here, too."
"Guess it shows they're almost blood related." Sasuke pointed out before seeing his daughter send her opponent flying into the wall with a punch.
"Yeeeah! That's my girl!" Sakura cheered, filled with pride. "That's how ya do it, CHA!"
Misaki leaned towards Sasuke with a weary eye on Sakura. "And she's gone... How do ya deal with her again?"
"Hn." He grunted a little, a tiny blush on his face. "I just don't get her angry... I might be one of the two strongest in our generation, but..." He glanced at his wife before leaning closer. "Sakura scares me when she's mad and that's saying something."
Misaki nodded, as did Naruto and Kiba. "True."
Naruto smiled as Boruto's team was declared the winners, since it made sense to promote the entire team than to have them fight each other. He jumped down and walked over. "Congratulations to the team that passed this round and those that also passed. In three days, the third and final stage will be set. Take that time to train and rest in moderation." He said, getting the passing teams to cheer, including his son's.
Misaki sat against the railing as she watched, a smile on her face. "He came a long way... I mean Naruto, of course. I doubt I'd ever have seen him as not only my brother, but a Hokage, due to his sheer craziness. Makes me glad I arrived all those years ago... Man, he's right... I'm old.." She deflated at that idea.
Hinata laughed lightly. "We may be old, but we can still fight if need be..." She looked at her husband and son, seeing the two grinning ear-to-ear at each other.
"Especially Naruto and Sasuke... Get those two wound up enough and it's like we're genin again." Kiba commented.
Misaki nodded. "Or Sakura-chan and Ino-ikoto..." That got the pinkette to flush slightly before smiling as Misaki went over to sit besides Himawari and her children. "So, do you think Boruto will be a chunin, Hima?"
The youngest blinked before nodding. "I know he will. Even if big brother doesn't have the Byakugan like me and mommy, he'll be super strong!" She said brightly.
That got the adults to chuckle, remembering the day that Naruto became Hokage: Himawari had knocked him and Kurama out for the entire day with the combination of her Byakugan and Gentle Fist after Boruto accidentally tore her teddy bear in half. It apparently made him scared of his little sister from that day on, with Naruto even wary around her.
"He'll be a great ninja... That's for sure." Misaki agreed as she looked at her adoptive brother smiling down at his son with pride. "I hate to say it, but, he might surpass even Naruto-niisan..."
"Oh? How so, dear?" Kiba asked.
"Firstly, look at his bloodline: Half Hyuga, half Uzumaki. The Uzumaki in particular are very old, being distant relatives to the Senjus and have their own sealing techniques. Then there's the Huyga half, with the Byakugan and being descended from the Otsutsukis. Both have immeasurable chakra and control over that chakra varies on generation..." Misaki explained. "However, that's where each lineage stop being similar. Uzumakis, as we know from Naruto, can heal faster than any other and have very strong life-forces. It explains how Naruto was able to still be 'alive' after Kurama was extracted from him." She then smiled. "I could also just be talking from my ego."
Sakura laughed. "Ego? You? Never. For as long as we've known you, you're the only one that doesn't have her ego talk for her."
Hinata giggled and nodded. "Everyone else has their strong points, that's for sure." She then looked to Sasuke. "You and Naru-kun probably won't be the strongest if that's the case."
Sasuke shrugged. "I don't mind it. One less thing to have trail me if I go on missions again. It was bad enough with all the other things I was known for when I was younger."
The adults all nodded as Naruto rejoined them with a grin on his face. "That was awesome, ya know? Never imagined that I'd see a new generation eagerly taking up anything other than a phone." He then tilted his head. "What's with the weird atmosphere? Did I miss something?"
Misaki laughed. "You missed us gossiping, of course. But, I was telling them that Boruto's generation will easily pass up the other generations due to their blood and lineage."
"Sounds complicated." Naruto said, crossing his arms.
"Super easy if you're able to follow a tree, niisan." Misaki teased. "One day, I'll send you information of each clan in Konoha. I might not be here anymore, but Konoha's my home."
"You'll always be welcome here, imouto." Naruto replied. "And I'll definitely look at anything you send."
"You won't. You'll lose it under the piles of papers I know are on your desk." Misaki said coolly to him paling before she laughed. "I know I have the same amount back in Kirigakure. Hopefully Chojiro handled most of the paperwork while I was away... Otherwise, I'll be up again for weeks."
"I think he learned from last time." Kiba said with a chuckle.
Naruto laughed and nodded as the adults looked out over the field and into the stands, where their friends were that weren't guards to the Kage sat with their families. He thought back on his life with a grin, knowing he wouldn't have chosen any other path that life gave him, sticking to the one he had always felt was his true calling. Some others often worried about all the paths of life, but Naruto and his friends had always chosen a different path than the one others wanted for them. He, himself, was now a well-loved Kage, father, brother and friend to his friends. Perhaps his son's generation will also chose another path, a different one than their parents.
Sorry for the long delay, but I finally wanted to wrap this story up with a tender look into Naruto's head. I still can't believe the actual Naruto series is done. I remember when it first began in 2005. I will, however, try and get into Boruto: Naruto Next Generation but I've heard it's actually worse than the original... I'll try, but this way I'll be free to wrap up other stories. Be sure to check them all out and leave reviews! Until next time, bye~
