Chapter 3
3 Minutes Earlier
Barry's P.O.V
Barry's deep in concentration as he's goes over his work in the lab, neglecting to here a familiar friend walk through the door.
"Ahh I thought I'd catch you in here Barry." Nancy Carter states as the sight of a blond haired man deep in thought catches her eyes.
Barry turns around a little startled but relaxes when he recognises the woman standing in the doorway.
"Hey Nancy, just finishing up on a few things here." Barry explains pointing to stack of work in front of him.
"I can see that, much more productive then your nephew, I can tell you that." Nancy replies a slight smile crosses her face.
Barry frowns. "Really how's he been today I haven't had the time to check up on him or anything, has he made friends? is he being a pain.."
Nancy interrupts Barry quickly. "Don't worry about it, he's just getting use to things that's all. I had him read a 50 page package and I'm pretty sure he just finished. But I can tell you that friends is no longer an issue since him and Ben have been inseparable all day."
Barry relaxes at this. "Ben is his partner?" Barry asks.
"Yep, the two boys are in the same room, although quite different from each other, they seem to enjoy each others company though."
"yeah, Wally's a pretty sociable person, he was just so nervous today though that I thought maybe..."
The light's suddenly go out.
Nancy pulls out her phone and put's in on flash, Barry does the same.
"Power outage." Nancy begins.
"Yeah probably due to the storm, I better go check on Wally see if he's alright then." Barry explains as the 2 of them exit the room towards B-4.
Suddenly everything turns white, and the building shakes, the 2 scientist's now right outside the door, can hear the scream on the other side along with sounds of glass shattering, and then it stops.
Barry regains his balance helping Nancy up but then there's another scream coming from another boy.
"WALLY...WALLY... SOMEONE HELP..SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!"
Barry begins freaking out and run's into the room where a younger looking boy with blond hair and glasses is seen kneeling down over something screaming for help.
Barry quickly run's over, making himself known to the younger boy.
"Wally?" Barry thinks now approaching the badly burned body.
"OH MY GOD WALLY!" Barry now screams as he carefully wraps his arms around the boy.
Barry's mind is working on hyper drive at the moment as he checks his pulse blocking out the sounds of the boy crying and what he think's is Nancy calling the ambulance.
"Why is his pulse so fast.. WHY IS HIS PULSE SO FAST." Thought Barry now completely freaking out.
Finally Barry turns around to look at the younger boy who's sobbing and muttering something Barry can't quit make out.
"What happened?" Barry asked in the calmest manner he can muster at the moment.
The boy wipes his tears away and begins shaking as he try's to answer. "L..L..Lightning.. It was the .Lightning." The boy stammers.
"Lightening." Barry repeats as he faintly hears sirens from outside the building.
The boy nods.
"Wally was struck by lightening." Barry asks again this time more panicked.
The boys nods again.
Now the sirens are very loud and footsteps can be heard making there way towards the room with Nancy's panicked voice leading the way.
"Okay, is your name Ben?" Barry asks.
"Y..yes." Ben replies.
"Okay Ben there are going to be paramedics in this room I need you to tell them what you told me and sit over at that desk to give them enough space to get to Wally." Barry finishes just as Nancy and a team of 4 paramedics enter carrying a stretcher, and other machines Barry didn't have the slightest idea as to what they where.
Ben quickly moves out of the way as instructed as the team checks for a pulse and then lift Wally's limp body onto the stretcher.
"Quick get the oxygen mask on him now." One of the paramedics say's.
"The pulse is extremely erratic where gonna need to sedate him." Another paramedic say's.
Barry turns around and the youngest looking of the bunch is talking to Ben about what had happened as he scribbles down all the information.
Barry was quickly brought back out of his trance as one of the other nurses asks.
"Sir are you his father."
Barry immediately answers without a second thought. "Yes, yes I am his father."
The nurse nods. "Were moving him into the truck you may ride in the back on the way to the hospital with him if you like."
Barry turns around to see that 2 other's are now moving Wally out of the room, and he quickly follows not even bothering to answer the question.
Barry keep's up with the paramedics and soon enough there down in the parking lot loading Wally in.
"Take a seat over here sir." Another Paramedic explains.
Barry quickly and carefully steps in avoiding anything that looked breakable and sat down on a little built in bench.
Now the remaining younger looking nurse runs in and the doors close leaving star Labs as quickly as possible.
Barry just sit's holding Wally's burnt hand hoping, preying that everything would be alright.
2 Day's Later, Central City Hospital 4:30 PM
"Electricity, there's a storm, where's Ben, theirs a storm and the.."
Wally tries to roll over to his side but when he can't he forces himself to open his eyes.
Immediately Wally shut's them again as the lights seem way to bright.
"Why was it so bright Isn't there a storm and the power outage." Thought Wally now squinting at what looked to be a white roof with a light bulb in the centre.
"Wally?" A voice starts.
Wally looks around but can't seem to find the source of the noise.
"Wally are you awake." The voice asks again this time louder.
Wally tries to move but is unable to.
"Aghhh." Wally yells as he attempts to move again without success.
"Wally I'll come to you." The voice say's again.
Suddenly Wally feels the bed he must be laying in move upwards like when you visit the dentist's office and they press the button to lower the chair. Soon enough he's at eye level with his aunt, in a very white looking room with tube's of liquids and other chairs around.
Quickly his aunt approaches him a bright smile on her face.
"Oh Wally I'm so glad your okay." She begins.
"Wh..what happened." Wally asks now extremely confused.
Iris looks down not wanting to go over the accident again.
"Honey you had an accident." Iris states, clearly not wanting to go into detail about what happened.
"What? Wheres Uncle B?" Wally asks now moving his head to the side where he sees that the tube's filled with liquids are all connected to the same place..Him.
"He's just outside the room talking to the doctors, but He'll be here in a sec." Iris explains now trying to calm down her nephew who looked as if he was going to have a full blown panic attack at any moment.
Wally looks confused. Why am I in a hospital, Why can't I move, WheresBenAuntIrisWhat'sGoingOnWhatAccident?" Wally began talking so fast the Iris couldn't understand a word he said, and it looked to Iris that Wally was almost vibrating but no that wasn't possible.
"Hey Wally calm down okay I can't understand a word your saying." Iris spoke now a little confused as to what had just happened.
Wally was confused yet again. "Why was aunt Iris talking so slow, I'm not dumb." Thought Wally trying to make out what his aunt was trying to tell him.
"Wally your awake." Screamed what could only be Uncle Barry and Wally barely had enough time to adjust before Barry was hugging him.
"Hi Uncle Barry, umm what happened?" Wally asked for what felt like the hundredth time.
"Oh you got struck by lightening kid, and we thought the worst but apparently your healing incredibly fast kid." Barry began So happy at Wally's recovery that he forgot Iris was in the room.
Iris nudged Barry hard.
"Oww." Barry proclaimed.
"I thought we where going to break it to him lightly he just woke up." Iris said through gritted teeth.
Barry shrugged, "To be honest the kid looks fine to me, I didn't think it necessary."
Iris sighed. "Wally honey how are you feeling?"
"Fine I guess but I can't move my body and umm I'm like starving." Wally explained slowing down a bit since he could understand everything a bit better that way.
"We froze your muscles that's why you can't move." The doctor explained as she walked in towards Wally to replace the IV bag again.
Wally gave a weird face so the doctor continued. "The shock from the lightening kept starting mini seizures which is my best diagnosis. You kept vibrating so we needed you still to rap your wounds which look as if they've fully healed." The doctor finished looking fascinated by the whole healing process.
"How is this possible doctor." Iris asked.
"Well My guess is that the Adrenalin rush was kick started by the accident, putting his white blood cells into hyper drive to heal his wounds."
Wally just shrugged, wait he could move again well at least his arms could move. The doctor seemed to notice this and spoke up.
"The side effects of this would include a rapid paced metabolism which is why you could be experiencing extreme hunger and is why your pulse was extremely fast, although symptoms tend to last only a few minutes so i'm surprised your still experiencing them. Anyway they should go away soon since your no longer vibrating meaning there already beginning to wear off." The doctor explained.
"Cool so when can I leave." asked Wally
"Well we've run as many tests as we can and you have completely healed all wounds although I suggest you wait for your slight paralysis to wear off." The doctor insisted.
Wally frowned. "That could take forever." Thought Wally who began attempting to move his legs.
"If you want we could send you down to the main foyer in a wheelchair, there a small food court down there and when the paralysis wheres off just check in with us so we can clear you for leave." The doctor said hoping this was a better alternative.
"Wally smiled, you had me at food court doc."
Barry and Iris laughed knowing about Wally's fascination with food, and with that the doctor helped Wally into the wheelchair and let himself and his legal guardians access to the main foyer.
Barry pushed Wally around with Iris right behind since wally's attempt at doing it himself had him nearly crashing into another doctor for going to fast.
"Okay so theirs a Starbucks, Wendy's and Subway." Barry announced. "Which will it be?"
Wally pondered this for a moment before deciding. "I think Wendy's would be good right about now."
Iris laughed. "Of course the most unhealthiest option is the one you want."
"Hey recovering from being hit by lightening here, I'm aloud to eat fast food for a day." Wally countered jokingly.
Iris just rolled her eyes and the 3 lined up to place there order which Wally could hardly stand because it felt like each second took an eternity to go by and he was just so god damn hungry.
Eventually it was there turn and Wally ordered 3 double cheeseburgers with 3 large fries. A little more then the usual but Iris and Barry blew it off as just another side effect from his metabolism.
Although the second the 3 sat down Wally was almost done his meal, and when he was done he was complaining about still being hungry.
"Fine take my burger Wally jeez And I thought 3 would be enough." Iris teased.
Wally looked grateful and ate her burger as fast as possible trying to settle the ever present hunger but when he had finished he was just as hungry as before.
"What the hell is wrong with you Wally, you just ate 4 burgers and 3 fries and your still starving." Thought Wally. "Better not ask for any more though, or I'll never hear the end if it. Hmm wonder if I can move my legs now."
Wally looked down and tried to move his left leg and it did, happy he tried to move his right leg and it also moved.
Wally smiled a big cheesy grin and stood up.
Iris and Barry both looked at each other.
"So the Wall man can walk now." Barry teased finishing off his lunch.
"Finally, took long enough." Replied Wally now speed walking around.
Iris shook her head. "boys can't wait for anything."
Both Wally and Barry looked at her.
"What it's true you 2 are constantly racing to get things done."
Barry shrugged.
"Whatever aunt Iris, sometimes it's better to take things in the fast lane."
Okay so this chapter was longer then I expected but i think It turned out all right.
Side note- I know absolutely nothing about medical stuff so everything I'm saying could be extremely inaccurate but I tried to make it believable so hopefully it's good enough.
