Chapter 4

Its been a week since Wally returned home and to put it lightly thing's have been strange involving Iris and Barry's nephew. For one thing Wally's moods have become erratic and uncontrollable, Having experienced points in which the young boy is extremely hyper and active to the point where sitting still is not an option. While other times it's like Wally has absolutely no energy, and just sleeps for hours on end often taking long naps which never use to happen and on top of that sleeping much longer at night then the usual. Iris finding it increasingly difficult to get him out of bed.

Secondly Wally's attention span has decreased dramatically, making him unable to concentrate on simple instructions such as getting ready in the morning. Such tasks have become difficult and often end up in a mess. Iris and Barry where concerned about this even looking up symptoms for ADHD, believing that this may be the case with Wally although up until a week ago thing's like this had never been a problem.

Lastly and most notably Wally's appetite has grown a lot, which is saying something for the young teen since before Iris could barely keep up with his stomach but now it's almost impossible. Wally often complains that he's hungry even after 4 helping's of food at dinner and Iris can't understand why, Of course the doctor said it was the adrenaline rush but he said those side effects would disappear not grow, and if anything Wally's appetite has only increased as the day's go on. Often going through binge cycles where he raids the entire kitchen leaving absolutely nothing left. Iris and Barry are very concerned with this new revelation since Iris has spent more on groceries this week then she did in an entire month and the weird thing is Wally looks as if he's lost weight, sometimes looking pale and famished even after consuming 3 large pizzas.

If Barry and Iris think that's weird try Wally, he can't explain why he's constantly hungry or why time seems to go by extremely slow. Wally doesn't know why he can't sit still or settle down after meal times he just feels like he has too much energy and that he'll explode if he sit's still. Wally knows his aunt and Uncle are worried about him but Wally wouldn't be acting like this if he could help it. He even tried to eat less one time although giving in after 2 hours due to painful hunger pangs.

Yep things are weird in the West-Allen house hold although it's nothing compared to whats coming up.

Tuesday July 6 12:00 PM

Iris struggles with the key's to the door as she juggles mass amounts of grocery bag's in her arms while trying to unlock the door to her house.

Iris mentally sighs. "This is the 3rd time this weeks that I've made a Costco run, something I usually do twice a month." Thought Iris as she successful opens the front door.

Relief floods over Iris as she put's the heavy bags down.

"WALLY." Iris calls hoping that her attempt's at waking her nephew were successful.

There is no response and Iris scowls. "Seriously Wally I basically dragged you out of bed this morning how are you still sleeping." She thought.

"WALLY GROCERIES ARE HERE, HELP ME PUT THEM AWAY." Iris yells again now making her way back to the car to unload the rest of the groceries.

...

Wally moans as his aunt screams from downstairs and is going to ignore her when she screams that groceries are here.

Wally shoots up immediately, he's so hungry not having eaten anything yet today and groceries mean more food.

Wally quickly pushes himself out of bed and run's down the stairs in time to see his aunt struggling with what looks like 10 huge grocery bags in her arms, and on the counter at least another dozen.

"Oh great Wally your up, I thought you might have gone back to bed after I left." Iris huffed now putting the rest of the bags back on the counter.

Wally smiles. "Whaaat I would never do that." He grins sarcastically.

"Right." Iris smirks. "Anyway help with the groceries I need to be back at work in 30 minutes so you'll be home alone for the day okay."

Wally nods. "Sure sounds fine."

"Don't and I repeat don't eat or raid the kitchen well I'm at work I've already gone shopping 3 times this week and I'm not going to go back until at least Friday." iris explains as she quickly puts the food away in the cupboards along with Wally.

"yeah I'll try but what if I get hungry." Asks Wally barely able to contain his disappointment since that was the plan all along.

"Then eat a snack but by a snack I mean like an apple or some chips not everything in the kitchen okay." Iris states clearly in a rush now to get going.

Wally frowns. "Okay."

Iris smiles at his cooperation and quickly kisses him on the cheek before making a dash out the door to leave for work.

Wally looks down at the last bag of groceries he had in his hand, it contained a large box of Frosted Flakes, 3 onions, and 2 containers of Pringles.

His stomach growled loudly in protest, he was starving.

"Ohh maybe just a few chips Aunt Iris wouldn't be mad at that in fact she suggested that." Thought Wally who pulled out the container of Pringles and began shovelling them into his mouth trying to ease his hunger pains which just won't seem to go away.

after a few seconds Wally grabbed for more only to see that the entire container was empty.

Wally was shocked. "How did I..What.. Where did they go?" Thought Wally as he stared at the empty container in his hands.

Again Wally's stomach growled as if requesting more.

Out of habit Wally grabbed another container of Pringles and ate them all, then the box of Frosted Flakes, then a box of cookies, then 4 apples. Finally after his 4th he forced his body to stop reaching for more food having already eaten more then he was suppose to.

Wally looked around at all the containers of food on the floor and frowned.

"What is wrong with me." Wally whispered under his breath as his stomach gave out another annoying growl.

Wally looked angry. "Just shut up would ya." He yelled now annoyed by his ever present hunger.

Quickly wally cleaned up the empty boxes before looking at the clock.

9 minutes had gone by.

Wally sighed. "This is taking forever what should I do for the rest of the day." Thought Wally now searching the room for ideas.

"Watch a movies, No to long. Play video games, Not fun by yourself. Cook, better not be in front of food for a while.." Then Wally's eyes lit up. "Oh I could go for a walk to the park maybe bring money and get lunch at the food trucks."

Wally smiled at this, now happy that he could get out moving since he seemed to all of a sudden have a lot of energy.

Quickly Wally ran upstairs to his room and grabbed his wallet and got dresses before putting on a new pair of sneakers and heading out the door.

Wally breathed in the fresh air calming him down from the ever present hunger and the jittery feeling he'd had since the accident.

After turning down his street and then to the left Wally waited a little impatiently for the pedestrian signal to walk before crossing the road.

BEEEEP

That was the cue and Wally nearly doubled over in anticipation as he made his way down the street.

In the distance a large man's falling asleep having been driving his transport truck for the last 12 hours none stop.

The man peeks at the signal and see's it's still green so he continues driving unaware that the minute he let his eyes drop the signal changed and he is now seconds away from hitting a red haired green eyed pedestrian.

Wally see's the truck coming on faster then it should and speed's up his walk hoping the man will stop any moment, but that moments never comes the truck is getting close and closer now almost right over top of Wally who is beginning to panic and really start to run when all of a sudden the truck slows down. And I mean really slows down to the point of like not moving.

Wally looks ahead but he's no longer on the road he's running but too fast to be normal, and is that lightening behind him. Wally starts to panic as the view outside changed to a mess of blurs but he sees everything as if it's going by slowly and then fire.

Wally looks down and his shoes are smoking quickly Wally jumps and just like that he's stopped. Well stopped as in tumbles down a long grassy hill extremely fast but yeah he's no longer moving so that counts.

Wally groans.

"What the fuck just happened." Wally mutters now rubbing his side that seems to be bruised from the fall.

Wally looks around but doesn't recognise his surrounding's.

He starts to get up but realises that his shoes are burning.

"Ahh, Oh My GOD!" Screams Wally now jumping around trying to peel the burning shoes from off of his feet.

"What the hell is happening, WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!" Wally yells now freaking out because he's in the middle of no where his shoes have just burnt off of his own feet and...

Suddenly a deep sharp pain erupts from his stomach, a hunger pain like no other. If Wally thought his hunger was bad before then he's clearly never truly been hungry because this was awful it hurt so bad.

Wally winced before going to google maps to find his location.

"WHAT THE WEST SIDE OF CENTRAL. That's halfway across the city." Wally proclaimed shocked that he had just sort of appeared here.

"Okay, okay don't panic Wally all you need to do is call aunt Iris and uncle Barry they'll know what to..Wait no they'll be angry that the one time I'm alone I end up halfway across the city. They wouldn't believe that I ran here, I don't even believe that I ran here." Wally argued in shock and confusion.

"Who to call who to call." Wally was now scrolling through his contact frantically searching for a way out of this mess.

"Kally, No busy. Aiden, On vacation. Grandpa Jay, Almost worse then calling Aunt Iris. Ben..Ben he know's about stuff like this he can help me." Wally beamed now quickly calling his newest friend for help.

The phone rang exactly 4 times while Wally paced from foot to foot jittery about this whole ordeal.

finally Ben picked up.

"Hello,Wally what's up man, how you been I..."

Wally interrupted Ben not wasting any time to get right to the point.

"Hey Ben where do you live?" Wally asked now looking up over the hill but all he saw where trees.

Clearly the abrupt question started Ben as it took him a moment to answer.

"What?" Ben asked confused.

"Dude I'm in a bit of a pickle and I need to talk to someone about it right now so please just tell me where you live." Wally pleaded hoping that Ben would just answer the damn question.

Ben was silent for a bit before caving. "2403 Murdoch street, I live in the big white house can't miss is."

Wally relaxed, glad that he now had a fragment of a plan. "Okay dude I'll be there as quick as I can." And with that Wally hung up before Ben could ask more questions.

"2403 Murdoch street." Wally muttered as he typed the location into his goggle map's hoping that it would be rather close.

The pone took a minute to process the destination before sending a straight line to his left where the house could be found.

"It's only 17 minutes away." Wally cheered now parading around a bit.

"Okay so Wally your gonna walk not run because you don't know what will happen if you do." Wally told himself now following the directions on his phone at a quick walking pace although feeling slightly light headed after a while.

It took an entire 25 minutes for Wally to find himself face to face with a grand white house.

"Wow this place is huge, Ben's parents must be loaded." Thought Wally now examining the little pond in there front yard.

Briskly Wally knocked on the front door and immediately Ben opened it as if he had been waiting.

"Oh Ben am I ever glad to see you." Wally huffed now completely exhausted from walking in the dead heat for half an hour.

"Yeah Wally, wow you look really good, guessing that lightening blast was a bit superficial then." Ben stated now marvelling at Wally's sweaty pale appearance, although now that Ben thought about it Wally looked rather skinny well skinnier then he did only a week before.

"Thank's man but the lightening blast's the least of my problems right now." Wally replied now feeling the immense hunger pains return full force and Wally contorted his face in pain.

Ben seemed to notice this and led Wally inside where there was a grand staircase leading to the second floor and a big grand piano, although what really caught Wally's eye was the massive kitchen down the hall that could only lead to a similar sized pantry.

Wally's mouth watered and without realising it was now walking in the direction of the kitchen.

"So Wally how'd you get here so fast." Ben asked trying to figure out the exact problem Wally felt Ben was needed for.

Wally looked back at him. "Oh I was in the neighbourhood." Wally replied more focused on eating then anything.

Ben looked confused. "You live in Western Central as well, wow not many people do." Ben seemed surprised.

Wally looked at Ben in a weird way. "Well actually no. Which is exactly what I came to talk to you about but first." Wally was eyeing the pantry and fridge as they where now inside the massive kitchen.

Ben seemed confused before realising what his friend was implying. "Oh you want food, yeah sure that pantry's stocked and we have left over pizza from last night if you want." Ben offered not really to surprised that Wally was hungry.

Wally looked happy and zoomed towards the pantry going through every box before putting them all out on the table.

Ben was shocked at the sheer amount of food that Wally was setting up, 5 boxes of cookies, 3 packets of cracker's, 2 loaves of bread with jelly and peanut butter, the leftover pizza, 2 cartons of orange juice, and 2 containers of ice cream.

"Wally do you really think you can eat all that, I mean I know you eat a lot but really that's a lot of food." Ben asked as his friend licked his lips at the display he had set up.

"Dude that's one of the crazy things, I can eat all of this and probably more." Wally answered as he opened his first package of cookies and began devouring each one like he hadn't eaten in 3 weeks.

Ben was shocked. "What do you mean?"

Wally continued ploughing through every bit of food in an unnatural way before taking a moment to ponder Ben's question.

"Well I guess it all started after the accident." Wally began before setting his gaze on the pizza. "I mean Weird things are happening to me like well I eat a freaking ton, and no matter how much I eat I'm always hungry or if I manage to feel full for a moment that moment disappears within 20 minutes and I'm back to ravenously hungry." Wally finished as he took out a large slice of pizza and stuffed it in his mouth.

"And then time is like all weird, like whenever I think an hour has passed it's only been like a minutes and sometimes people talk to slow, but that doesn't happen all the time usually only when I'm excited or nervous or something like that." Wally now moving onto the ice cream hadn't noticed that Ben had begun writing his every word down as if they where notes for a pop quiz or something.

"So anyway like I said that's been weird but I'm also having a hard time concentrating on stuff and I get tired, oh and dizzy spells especially if it's been a while since I'v eaten which it never is but for some reason I just get lightheaded and pale I think is what Aunt iris told me once but whatever on to the main thing." Wally was lost in thought and food as the remnants from the ice cream where being licked clean.

"So today before I called I was going over to the park and this jackass truck driver wasn't stopping while I crossed so I bolted. The weird thing is that everything around me got really slow and then my shoes started to burn and I was halfway across the city by the time I stopped." Wally gestured to the lack of footwear and Ben suppressed a giggle not having realised that Wally had walked here in socks.

"So that's everything man, what you think." Wally asked slightly concerned that Ben would have no freaking clue and would call him crazy.

Ben looked over his notes for a bit before dropping the bomb.

"Wally what your describing to me is physically impossible. You shouldn't be able to eat that much and lose weight because it looks as if you have. And you shouldn't be able to run that fast or even close to it if what you just told me was accurate which I believe it is since why would you lie."

Wally looked worried as he hung on to Ben's every word.

"So after some more testing I think maybe we'll find out to what extent but..." Ben paused going over his last few notes.

Wally waited impatiently wanting Ben to talk faster.

"Wally I think you have superpowers."

Oh my god, you would not believe how hard it was to write this chapter. First off I had to leave in the middle for baseball practice and during practice I sprained my finger which led me to this. I had to type each word out so painfully slow that this chapter took probably an extra like what hour, anyway it's out now so whatever, but hope that you like it anyway.
