Chapter 18: First come friendship
The next morning, Zarc makes it to the stadium early. Much as he despised Leo's work, he loved dueling, especially with his dragons. Zarc looked at his deck where his dragons, no! His family is at. Since no one is watching, he spoke to his deck. "Hmmm, guess it's just me for now." Zarc said to himself then pulled his dragons out of his deck. Odd eyes, one of the dragons, noticed the emotion love is growing inside Zarc. "I see you started to fall in love with Ms. Akaba no?" Asked the suspicious dragon. Zarc took notice on the two odd eyeed colored monster, "Oh you must be joking." The duelist denied, "She's Leo Akaba's daughter! I'm just... helping her out" From such denial, Odd eyes put up a rape face (a/n if you ask, it's similar to Spongebob's when he noticed Squidward REALLY likes Krabby Patties). "Oh you are just the worst!" Sneered the demon duelist as he scowls at the card with the monster who came to life so he can speak. Once he arrives to the stadium, the stadium fills with people slowly, Zarc then concentrates on the VIP box, looking for Leo and totally not his adorable daughter. All the sudden, the daughter took notice then goes to Zarc real quick. She spoke his name, getting Zarc's attention. Zarc shivered in startle then turns to Ray. "Ray?" With worry in her eyes, she asked if Zarc is ok. "Something tells me you're speaking to your cards like a mad man." Zarc didn't understand at first until he realize. "Oh yeah, my cards. They talk to me." Zarc explained, "It's getting them to shut up that's the trick." Zarc the glares at the Odd Eyes card then back. "So what brings you here?" Ray placed the toe of her shoe and moves it a bit in showing she likes him showing a warm smile. "Thought I could learn more from you." She answered, lYour advice made me won my duel. I would like to thank you." As the two talk, Odd Eyes nudge him telling him to ask ray out. Zarc looked then look back to Ray. "Uhhh.. you're welcome!" Once Ray leaves, the demon crammed his cards into the deck box before it gives him more stupid ideas. 'Remember our mission, boys!' Zarc spoke with his thoughts to his monsters, 'I'm a quarterfinalist. Hopefully I'll take the title.'
In getting ready for his battle, he saw his Xyz dragon named, Dark Rebellion, growled at Zarc in his way of saying "the female duelist like his monster". When Zarc's just about to scold his card again, but Ray is looking right at him. Zarc saw her then swallows and spoke, "So princess, did you make it?" Ray blushed from the nickname but manage to answer, "oh...yes I did." Zarc chuckled the bit then cleared his throat. "Looks like we're rivals today then." Of course what he thought that's too harsh, so he lightened up, "Just, do your very best, I expect nothing less." As Ray is thanking Zarc for the advice, we find her father: Leo Akaba appears to usher the duelists to thier positions. He seems a little bothered by Zarc being close with Ray. "Thank you." Said Ray as she smiled warmly, "Do your best as well." Ray then leaves to her dad so she can be escorted too. Zarc glares at Leo who built Solod Vision and who is the father of Ray's. "Bad enough he poisoned this world with his technology," He said right behind the scientist's back, "He's got to get between us too.."
A little later at the stadium, the duels begin. Zarc duels with ferocity, seemingly irked. Leo Akaba notices his intensity. Once Zarc made it to the finals, his opponent is Ray, who is ready for battle as she is full of confidence. Zarc and Ray battled for the trophy as they show no fear but determination in skill. Leo watches his daughter intently, but feels as if he is also being watched. Soon Ray lost but got up and to Zarc who holding his trophy in the air, as the beautiful woman waveed and a confident smile. "You did great Zarc." Complimented the woman who is happy for the duelist who won. With such signal, Clear Wing begins to tell his master to ask Ray out. Oh! Thank you. He said as he tries to ignore the monster. Doesn't want to leave her hanging, he holds out the trophy* Here, why don't you take this?" He offered showing generosity, "I think you worked harder than me..." Ray obtains the trophy from him. "Oh thank you." Ray complimented, "You're so sweet." Ray then stood on her toes a bit. "Thank you for being kind. For just being you." Ray they kissed Zarc on the cheek, showing affection, making the demon feel flattered as Clear wing gestures his master into asking the lady out. Zarc glares at his monster then spoke under his breath,threatening the monster, saying one of you to say something spends the night in the bathtub. Once that said (thank goodness no one else heard it.) Leo gets on stage, since he's seeing the interaction between Ray and Zarc. Once on stage, he step in between the two. "Ray, who is this?" Leo asked with his voice filled with suspicion. Ray turned to her father. "Oh this is Zarc." The daughter introduced, "Remember I told you I got an advice that helped me win. Well this is the guy." Leo is seems bothered by Zarc, "I see." Understanding his daughter, lWell, that's good you made a friend, but we should be headed home now.. I'm sure Mr... Zarc here has to see to his fans." Zarc growls at Leo with a thought, 'Just take away all of life's beauty, why don't you?' Zarc then looked back at the daughter. "It was nice seeing you again Ray." Ray smiled warmly, putting her hands behind her back. "same here." Ray then remembered something, real quickly she pulled out her little notebook and pen then wrote down her number, following a kiss from her lips. "Oh and if you like to give me more advice give me a call." As she gave Zarc her number. Zarc's cheeks turned pink, accepting her phone number. Leo has his hand on her left shoulder, helding her in a fatherly manner. "Okay honey, lets... head home..." The father ordered as they begins to leave, keeping an eye on Zarc. Starve venom pops out of the deck box with his look meaning Ray is one hot mama which makes Zarc notice. Zarc leaves the stadium as well, with his Escorts, with his prize money. Mentally, he argues with his dragons the whole ride home. 'Easy guys!' Zarc spoke to the dragons with his thoughts, 'Just because she's sweet and cute and gave me her number, doesn't mean we're a couple. She probably thinks I'm nuts for talking to you so much... just like everyone else in this stupid place' (a/n that's when you're wrong dude.) Starve Venom looked at his master. "You sure?" He asked, "From my predictions you might masterbate for her." Zarc chuckles from the response, "Woah vulgar much?" As they got to the car and head home.
Once finally home, Zarc lays all four of his dragons out on the table, then closes his eyes. In his mind, he is floating with all of them. 'It's not about if I'm attracted to her.' Zarc explained with thought, 'Whatever I feel, she's still Leo Akaba's daughter.' Zarc then Sighs heavily. 'She probably thinks he's some hero, instead of the man who poisoned the earth.' Odd eyes is the first to speak Zarc in the mind, "what if she's more than that?" He asked, "I mean after all she is a keeper." Zarc looked at Odd eyes with a bit of unamusement. "She's was nice to me..." he said, "Not many people are when they meet me..." Clear wing looked at Zarc next, having an idea popped out his head."why not ask her over to know her more." The synchro dragon suggested, "That's what I did when I am online dating." After he spoke it, Clear wing remembers the time when he used to date a light elements female dragon named Ancient Fairy Dragon. He did remember that he told her that both battling a monkey and it's duelist is quite weird; it made her ask in confusion since it had been so long since she defeated the both of them. "Besides this will be a good chance for you to learn her more." Starve Venom then held up a sexy lingerie. "And have her wear these." Zarc facepalmed. How stupid can his dragons get?! He look at his monsters with a sigh. "Seriously, where are you getting your ideas from?" Of course, he doesn't deny that Ray would be very sexy in the outfit. Zarc then got that feeling again. Something slightly off about Ray, "Hmmm... it does make me wonder..." After hours of puzzling, he finally went to bed and drifted to sleep, letting the dragons run loose in his mind and in his dreams.
