Chapter 24: Dolls and Dueling
It's been nearly twelve hours since Zarc and Ray got married and we find him battling with his opponent in the stadium. Full of determination and not showing fear, Zarc defeated his opponent with one of his monsters, without breaking a sweat. Soon after, three of Zarc's opponents have been sent to the hospital, the others sustained minor to moderate injuries. Zarc stands proud as the winner. 'It's coming together.' He says to himself. 'It'll be perfect... for us.' Zarc then raises his arm in victory as Starve Venom, one of Zarc's monster, pops out of nowhere. By nowhere he came out of the deck box. "So thinking of having kids with ray?" He asked. Zarc looks at his monster then back, showing he can not be defeated. "Not on this miserable patch of dirt." Zarc called his own planet as he's walking out of the stadium, locking eyes with Leo Akaba. Chuckling the demon spoke, "Heheh... but it doesn't matter... everything is underway..." The two left the stadium as they had a conversation about how Zarc was a small infant. Zarc hushed his Fusion monster to speak a word. "Put the idea out of your head for now, Starve Venom." Zarc ordered, "If Ray wants to bare my children, we won't be doing it here." Zarc climbs into his car, as he's brushing off his agent. "The pieces are falling into place." The Demon predicted, "Ray is safe in my arms, her father is out of the picture, and I can sense you are growing stronger..." Zarc made quite a point about what's happening. Even Starve venom knows what's happening to himself. Of course Starve Venom is still curious of what Zarc is saying. "But where exactly if it's not here to be doing?" Zarc pinched the bridge off his nose then shook his head gently. Seriously how stupid can that speeding fusion monster get?! Zarc took a big sigh then spoke. "I think by know, you know my opinion of this city... this world... it's so foul and unclean! So fake!" The stressed demon admittedly, "Until now, I was content to just live in it, despite how wretched it all was. But now..." There was a pause and Starve Venom is still waiting for the answer. With a goofy look on the dragon's face, he placed his elbows on the shoulder and paws on his face. "But now?" he asked, wanting the last part. After that pause, Zarc spoke again. "Now I have Ray." as Zarc started to explain, "She is perfection in this bile. A delicate, blooming flower, amongst ruins. She is my everything, my only glimmer of light in this world. She deserves better than this place." (a/n Quite a poetic don't you think Zarcy?)
Soon Zarc arrived to his doll shop as he then pulls his car in. Starve Venom is still wondering about how will Zarc form his life now. No matter, the fusion dragon can always ask him about what's gonna happen now. Zarc went inside his shop where we find his aunt, in front of the old cash register. "Hey Aunt Maria (a/n In case you ask it's pronounced Mah-Rai-Uh) any new customers?" Maria smiled warmly as she goes to the displays for one doll collection for the spring collection. "Of course Zarc." she answered, "As the matter of fact, we sold nearly quite a ton of dolls today." Business had been going great since Zarc took over the shop and Zarc smiled to his aunt who had been told the news. "Also Zarc?" Maria asked, "A mother with a little girl came by and asked for a porcelain doll that is inspired by one of the melodious monsters collection." Zarc perked up. He's lucky enough that a mother and child asked for a doll that has been inspired by one of his wife's monsters. Zarc ran downstairs to his workshop as he put on his apron so he won't get covered in mess. "Guess I'll take that as a yes." Maria then left back to the counter and begins to talk with the other customers while Zarc is down there making a good doll for a little girl.
Zarc pulls out a few lump of porcelain clay and begins to sculpted out the doll. As he builds, he pulls out a tool to make eye holes for the eyes. Starve Venom watched his master doing creativity, sitting in the pet seat that is built for monsters like him. Zarc then work his magic to do the final process of his molded creation and with all his powers and spells, it is now ready to be given features and makeovers. "So you build with sculpting first then magic?" The fusion monster asked. Zarc nodded as he has his eyes on the doll. The demon then pushed himself away from the desk quick and went into the crafts box and he opens it. What we find in the big one are different size of Glass eyes. Zarc got his attention caught by a two set of teal-ish blue eyes. Grabbing them, he decided to use them. The doll making demon then pushed himself away from the eye box and he then search through a small cabinet. Inside the cabinet are wigs big and small for each doll. Zarc grabbed a sea foam green that is mixed with teal as it is straight with tips all curled and went back to his crafting desk. Now Starve Venom sees what does Zarc means in Sonata makes a good inspiration. It fits now! Zarc is using the eyes and hair to make the doll look like Ray's monster: Sonata. In no time at all, Zarc put the wig on with stitching like any other doll makers and carefully putting the glass eyes in. With that done, Zarc went back to the craft case and opened up a mediums size box. Inside the medium sized box are make up like paint and false eyelashes for the dolls. With that said, the demon doll maker grabbed the paint and lashes and begins to make the doll look beautiful. "Hey Starve venom?" Zarc asked as he is carefully adding a lash to the doll, "Be a good friend and hand me that dress that looks like what you find in Greek?" Starve Venom then goes to the clothing chest that is next to the sewing machine and material for clothing. Opening up and finding inside are different dresses for different size dolls. The fusion monster scanned through the dresses and found one that Zarc described. In no time at all, the monster grabbed it and gave to Zarc. "Thanks." Thanked the doll making demon. Soon the doll is ready and Zarc went upstairs to give it to his aunt so she can give it to the mother and daughter. The doll is so stunning to the little girl's eyes. She is so elegantly beautiful. The doll is then sold to the mother and daughter who wanted the doll that Zarc customized. "My Zarc." The aunt spoke, "You really know how to make girls happy." Zarc looks back at the leaving people with a warm smile. "Yes I do."
It is time to go home and Zarc is just cleaning up his workshop. Starve Venom yawned in waking up from his nap and looked at his master. "Closing already?" he asked. Zarc looked at the fusion monster then smiled and got him up. Soon, they got upstairs and said their good nights to Maria before leaving. In slight exhaustion, Zarc got into his car and begins to drive home. Starve Venom and Zarc begins to talk about what happened earlier then Starve Venom spoke next. " I understand." he said, "But your parents told me that clear wings, odd eyes, dark rebellion, and I that if anything happens to them we must take care of you." Starve venom remembered on how they made such promise before the accident that had been created by the parents twenty years ago. It was hard for him to accept it but now he moved on and remembers that they're here to look over him, his friends, and the parents' son. "They just wanted you to be happy and we try our best to make you happy." The dragon said petting the shoulder of Zarc Gently, "Now ray is in your life, she will be the light overpower any shadows come in your way with a warm smile, and from the looks up in the sky I am sure they are smiling you down in heaven." The dragon looked up to the night sky as he see Saria and Arc, Zarc's parents, are watching down from the stars. "Indeed." Zarc agreed, "And what would make me the most happy, would be is to save my darling Ray from this awful place." As soon they are finally home, pulling in, Zarc grinned darkly. Yes something is off about Zarc, but whatever it is we must wait and see. Starve Venom asked Zarc about Starve's old girlfriend and has the demon remembered. Apparently he doesn't as he begins to climb upstairs to the penthouse. Zarc then unlocks the door he finds Ray dusting and there is a tinier version of odd eyes named Scrap eyes of course he does annoy the hell out of Zarc before he met ray (a/n Scrap Eyes had returned). "Hey Babe." Ray greeted as she is almost done dusting, "I didn't know one of your dragons had a nephew." Zarc chuckled a bit, "All my monsters have a pretty wide, extended family." Zarc mentioned as he shuts the door and quietly locks it. "They've been with me since I was little, so they're my family too." He made a good point, his dragons did raised him to adult hood. It made Ray even wonder how did they bathe Zarc or cook him dinner. 'Oh well.' She thought then spoke, "They did a great job raising you." Ray was right. The dragons DID a really good job on raising Zarc. Starve Venom pops up to point out that Ray is right. "And indeed we did."
