Chapter 2: An Old Friend

Marco's Bistro, Liberty City.

Lori Forelli is seen sitting alone in the back of Marco's Bistro as if waiting for someone, then she receives a phone call, she picks it up and answers.

"Hello Lori." It was Lincoln, calling from Ocean View Hotel.

Lori warmly replies, "Lincoln! Linc. It's been too long..." "I know I know you're just overwhelmed with emotion. Fifteen years... seems like only yesterday." She states as if to show concern to Lincoln.

Lincoln simply minds off the reply and says back, "I guess that's a perspective thing..."

"Hey, doing time for the Family is no piece of cake," Lori says with a hint of seriousness. "But the Family looks after its own Ok?" "So... how'd the deal go? You sitting on some white gold?" Lori asks, expecting that the deal went smoothly.

Lincoln sighs, and says with a tone of hesitation and disappointment, "Look...Lori. We were set up. The deal was an ambush. Harry and Lee are dead."

Upon hearing these words, she couldn't believe it, her so-called secret plan didn't hit the mark. She then asks Lincoln with a hint of anger, "You better be kidding me Lincoln. Tell me you still got the money."

Lincoln, hesitant to answer a bit, braces up the courage to tell Lor the truth. "No Lori, I don't have the money."

Now Lori was really mad, her plan failed and she had just lost 20 Million Dollars...

"That was my money Lincoln! MY MONEY! You better not be screwing with me, Lincoln because you know I'm not a woman to be screwed with!" saying it with pure aggression in her voice while slamming the phone onto the table a bit.

Lincoln then pleads, "Wait Lori. You have my personal assurance that I'm gonna get you your money back and the drugs. And I'm gonna mail the d*cks of those responsible."

Lori, already aware of what Lincoln is capable of, cools off and replies back, "Hey. I already know that. You're not a fool Linc, but I warn you, neither am I." She said that last word sternly. "If it was anybody else you'd be DEAD already. But because it's you, because we got history, I'm gonna let you handle this."

Lincoln, seemingly a bit relieved that he was given a second chance, answers with a tone of assurance. "Look Lori. You got my word."

"I'll be in touch." She replied back, with a slight cold tone.

Lori hangs up and Lincoln angrily throws the phone to the floor, simply because he had no idea where to start looking so as to not disappoint Lori and not get himself, put out of commission by his own friend, and maybe even the Family. He only had one chance at this and he's not gonna screw it up. So, he lies down, closes his eyes, so he could prepare to go to Luan's office tomorrow morning.
