18. Shakedown

Chapter 18: Shakedown

After taking over Diaz's mansion, Lincoln discusses with Lexx, Luan and Liam on what to do next. With the business now in his hands, he has to do something to regain all the money he lost. As they were walking around the mansion, Luan looks around in awe and says to Lincoln.

"Oh, we gotta redecorate this place. We gotta make it look older. I can't stand this look. Lincoln, whadaya, say? Whadaya say we put a bar in…"

Lincoln then interrupted her by putting up a hand near her face "You're my lawyer, Rosenberg, not my interior decorator. Got it?" He then turns around to the three of them "Listen to me, the time to take over this town is now. It's all out there waiting for us."

Lexx then suggested at Lincoln "We need to start seizing territory, let Vice City know we're the new players in town, know what I'm saying?"

Liam also intervened and said "What you need is a legitimate front Lincoln, real estate. It's never done me no harm."

Lexx then again suggested "We need to start using some muscle or we can kiss all that hard work goodbye. Local business know Diaz is dead, and they're refusing to pay protection!"

After a few seconds of being silent, Luan then said to him "Ooh! We could try bribery…"

Hearing all of this, Lincoln was confused as to what to decide, Lexx's suggestion is good, offering protection to local businesses, this is where he could start, he then told all of them "Bribery? Screw bribery! I'll show you how to make 'em scared! I'll be back here in five minutes…"

Lincoln heads to the North Point Mall and proceeds to smash all the shops inside to scare them into paying protection for him. One of the store owners shouted "I pay through the ass for protection!" Hearing this, Lincoln shouted back to him "I run this town now. ME!" And after just five mintues, he had destroyed most of the stored inside the mall, all the owners were scared because of what he did, after doing that, he shouted at all of them "Vercetti. Remember the name!"

Since the police was on his tail, he had to leave immediately and lay low for a while. Knowing all the store owner's reactions, they'll be sure to pay Lincoln protection and ensure his place as the ruler of the town.
