Chapter 42: Finding out pt. 2
Ray stood in shock. How can Schuberta be alive?! How did she come back?! What the hell is happening here?! Ray asked so many questions about how Schuberta returned. Calming Ray down, with a paper back to breath into and some reassuring words, Schuberta begins to explain. "Some things are better left for later." She said, "You don't have much time." Ray took the bag away from her mouth so she can speak. "But the outside world is full of danger right now." Ray made a good point, "I can't go out!" As Ray tries to speak, we find Winter Bell and Aria, coming to the door. "Ray, I brought you dinner." Winter Bell called as Aria opens the door. To the two's surprise, Winter dropped the tray with the food in shock. "Aye caramba!" Aria cried in shock. What the hell is happening here?! Are they seeing things?! Schuberta saw her niece and friend, who are in total shock right now. "I'll get to you guys in a bit." She vowed as she turns back to Ray, "There is one place you will be safe... with your father, and the resistance." Ray starts to think it over. What will Zarc will say or do when he finds her with her dad. Whatever will he do or say, she will take it. Schuberta then turns back to the two female monsters. "What are you doing here?!" Schuberta sighed from the question. "You left us few weeks ago!" Aria then changes her expression to confusion. "Were you hiding under the bed this whole time?" Schuberta goes to her niece. "I was fallen," She began, "When mistress Ray was no longer herself, her spirit broken under the heels of that madman, I felt myself fade away." Schuberta picked up the tray then hands it to Winter Bell. "Saria found me, helped me watch over you all, and with Ray's new courage, I am reborn!" The two monsters looked at each other. Is it true that she did?! When they're about to ask, Schuberta stopped them. "But Schuberta.." Ray spoke, "The baby..." Schuberta turned to her mistress. "There is no time, Zarc cannot know of the child." Schuberta suggested in showing slight fear, "If he does, it will become another tool to control you!" Schuberta goes to Ray, knowing she's running out of time. "You must run now, for your own safety and hers!" Ray is confused... What shall she do?! As Ray is going to break down, she heard the doors open once more. Only this time, it's Zarc with Odd Eyes. The demon steps inside slowly. "... Well, this was unexpected!" Zarc spoke, "Oh Ray, I expected better from you. How mean." Ray gasped in shock. She hadn't done anything except crying. Ray then quickly points to the melodious maestra. "I didn't invite her!" Odd eyes looks at the two remaining female monsters and gestured them to leave. Once they left, Odd Eyes looked at his master. "Want me get the broom?" He asked. Zarc has other plans in mind. "No," The demon answered, "I believe this calls for something... bigger!" Zarc grinned, knowing what he means by "bigger". Schuberta then tugs out her command sword, charging Odd Eyes. "MISTRESS!" Schuberta cried as she's going to fight, "RUN! NOW!" Ray is scared in such situation, but she tried to run as Aria followed.
As Schuberta is locked in battle with Odd-Eyes, Zarc find Ray on what she is doing. Genuinely surprised by Ray taking off, he tries to stop her. "What... Ray?" Zarc caught his wife who is not looking. Zarc squeezed her wrist as he caught her. "What are you doing?" Zarc asked, "Why are you running away?!" Ray couldn't speak. She is afraid of and for her husband. He demands answers from his wife. Ray starts to shake and then told Zarc that she's pregnant. "I want to run away!" Ray answered, "Please let me go!" Zarc is in shock and fear. What was Ray thinking?! It is Schuberta's fault that she wanted Ray run away. " Ray you told me you loved me!" The demon yelled, "How could you?!" He grips his wife's wrist tighter, tugging her face to his. In a brink, Schuberta is knocked down, dropping her weapon near Ray. Dark Rebellion and Starve Venom join the fray, time is running out. Ray is even more scared of her husband. He never acted such way. "I do love you," Ray answered, on the verge to cry once again, "But I was afraid you'll take my child once I give birth." Clear wings came in to take Schuberta to the dungeons, leaving Ray shaking in fear, about to cry. "Please Zarc." Begged the wife, "You gotta believe me." Zarc's eyes flared in anger, making them glow faintly even when there's still light. "And you pick now, when you're having my child to run away from me?!" Zarc angrily asked, "How dare you!" Zarc then tries to tug Ray back to her room with Schuberta being dragged away. "MISTRESS," She cried, "DO NOT GIVE IN! RUN NOW!" Ray was being dragged as well by her husband, calling out the name. Even through calling out the name, Odd Eyes knocks Schuberta out as she had been dragged with Clear Wing's tail. Zarc tugs hard on Ray's arm, not letting go! Aria watched helplessly, finding Shuberta's blade on the floor near Ray. As Ray is dragged back to her room, screaming and crying, Aria collected Shuberta's blade then she stashed it somewhere like into a vase until the time is right.
Ray is now inside her room cause of Zarc and the demon then Bolts the door shut. "So Ray..." The demon began, sounding dark and low, "I think we need to have a little talk..." Ray looked up at her husband, with tears in her eyes. Zarc didn't even turn around to face her. "What do you think you were doing, back there?" He asked. Ray explained what happened earlier and why. "Please believe me," Ray begged, "I'm telling the truth." Zarc moved his claws down on the door, leaving marks on it. "Oh sweetie, I believe you..." Zarc turns to his wife, his face more dark and sinister than she had ever seen before. Stating he doesn't care, he growled softly at Ray. "Why would you think you should run away?" The demon demands answers. "Why did you try to leave me?" Ray tries to say something but is too scared and sad at the same time. Giving up, she fell to her knees. "I just afraid that you took my baby." Zarc's eyes widened a bit. His wife is pregnant with a baby. Maybe, even more. What if it gets in his way with her? What if it will destroy him someday? Zarc goes to his wife and helps her up so he can look at her. "Perhaps I should." Zarc stated, "If having a child is going to get in the way of you loving me..." Ray knew than such thing. The baby will NEVER do such thing. All it want is some love and attention from both parents. Ray told her husband that it won't as she asks him that if he wants the baby. Zarc thinks about it as Ray spoke even more, begging for forgiveness. "Please forgive me for trying to run away." Ray begged, "It won't happen again." Ray then hugs her husband gently, still has tears in her eyes, washing more of the make up away. I promise." She vowed, "I do love you more than everything and now, you and the baby more than everything." Zarc just stood still for a few moments before embracing Ray. "... My love..." He began, "I cannot live without you; You are my oxygen, my sun, my moon, my stars. Zarc's hands gripped slightly on Ray. "I need you." Zarc admitted, "And I am NEVER LETTING YOU GO!" Something is off about that last part. The last part is dark and gravelly. Ray flinched a bit from the grasp. "I understand." Ray spoke, "Do you forgive me?" Zarc released his grip. "No." The demon answered as he breaks the hug, glaring, "Tonight, you sleep alone, and think about what you've done." Zarc let's go of his wife, before leaving the room, bolting it tightly from outside. Leaving Ray to cry in her room, he impatiently walks down the hall, passing the great hall and then into the dungeon. The Dragons sit there, having chained down Schuberta. Zarc feels his anger writhe then glares up with his glowing golden eyes. "... Make her bleed."
