Chapter 21: Stunt Boat Challenge
After the incident at the mall, Lincoln's business start to go smoothly, after a few days of laying low, Lincoln receives a call on the mobile phone he stole he stole from Leo Teal, the chef who participated in the ambush of the drug deal initiated by Ronaldo Diaz. The call was from an unnamed member of the Cubans. After he tells the Cuban that he killed Leo, the Cuban suggests that he drive to the Café Robina in Little Havana and speak to Roberto Robina, leader of the Cubans.
Heading to the café by himself, Lincoln was stopped by an old man who was sitting near the entrance, he eyed Lincoln, as if he was some sort of threat, he glared at him and asked "Si, men?" While sitting near the counter was Roberto Robina, who notices that the old man was stopping Lincoln at the entrance, going there to calm the old man down. "Hey, easy Papi, this man's for me." He then looked at Lincoln intently, checking his physique as well as his appearance. He then pointed at him and asked "You, you the boy?"
Lincoln was also curious, and looked around to see if someone was behind or beside him whom he pointed to, but no one showed up so he obviously guessed it was him. And this was also confirmed by Roberto and said "Oh yeh. You the boy. I think so, you know?" Lincoln directly replied at him "No. I don't think I do."
Roberto, put a bit off the way he's acting puffed his big chest at him as if he was some sort of very tough guy, believing Lincoln to be a scrawny fellow "Oh yeah? You come here, tough guy. You think you can take me on? You think you can play stupid with me?" Lincoln, already faced with these types of people, just bluntly said "No, I think you can play plenty stupid enough for both of us." Then the old man intervened and said to Roberto "Hey, he call you dumb, son."
Roberto, hearing what the old man said, eyed back on Lincoln and jokingly said "And I call him a little girl, Papi." Then he circled around Lincoln, very closely checking his every move and behavior, while Lincoln just stood still but keeping his eyes on Roberto "Look at him, all dressed up like that. What is this, ladies night? You some kind of tough guy, you dress like a woman? You got on panties like a woman too, huh?" Gesturing on his crotch forming a v-shape to signify panties.
Lincoln then asks Roberto "What you got against women?" he then smirked at him and jokingly asks "You prefer men, big boy?" Roberto, a bit pissed, immediately answered him "I like women! I like all women! I love my mother, chico!" Lincoln then put his hands up slightly and calmly and says "Alright, alright, I'll take your word for it. Relax." Roberto already cooled off, and then asks Lincoln "Can you drive, amigo?" To which he replied with a joke, "Yeah…like a woman."
Roberto then laughed at the statement and said to him "Very funny. I like you, big boy. Maybe you can help. Maybe you can prove you a man. Huh?" Lincoln just shrugged and nodded. Roberto then pointed outside "Take out the boat. Show me you got some big cojones, and not some little bitty chiquita ones."
Seeing this, it was very clear on what he's going to do, Lincoln needs to prove himself to Roberto by driving a boat to a race and winning, he drives to the docks to meet a man named Rico, he approaches Rico and notices Lincoln approaching him. "Hey, I'm Rico. You the man with the big cojones?" "Lincoln Vercetti…Let's go." Rico nodded and said to him "Ok man, treat her like a woman."
Then the race begins, Lincoln goes through every checkpoint in under 3 minutes successfully, without delay. While racing through the last few checkpoints, Rico proudly says to him, "Man, you the man, man! I like you man! I like you a lot!" Lincoln also nodded at the compliment. Then Rico spoke again and says "Any time man. 'cause you got cojones. And all of my friends have cojones." And after all that, Lincoln wins the race. He was dropped off at the docks by Rico, and he gave one last compliment to him "You got big cojones amigo." And Rico drove off. With that in mind, Lincoln may have somewhat gained a new ally in the business, or maybe he just have some favor to do for that Roberto.
