Chapter 24: Juju Scramble
After acquiring information from all around the town, Lincoln is able to locate where this supposed Auntie Frida is. He was told earlier to drop by Auntie Frida's shack. He went inside and was really curious, looking around he said "Hello? Hello?"
Frida was in the back rummaging through some items, noticing Lincoln coming in, she then approached him, warmly replying "Come in, my dear, and rest your soul. You must be the big bad man me grandaddy been chattin' 'bout." As they were sitting down, Auntie Frida was pouring some sort of drink into a cup "Tells me tings about you, you know, when he visits, and about the others who wait for you. Now, we all dead for long time, but you, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes, ha ha ha ha ha!" She then handed it to Lincoln.
Lincoln then drank it, beginning to get nauseated; he asks "I got a message to come here." Frida then stops Lincoln "Can you hear dem? Dem callin' your name, boy, must want you pretty bad, don't ya tink?" She then pointed at him and instructs him "Now you do old Aunite Frida a turn, huh, maybe she help you. Maybe she can give you a little juju after all of dis. Give you some magic to give the law man the stink eye, hmmmmm?"
Lincoln, already under the effects of some potion that was in the drink, was about to leave saying, "Look, this is all very, um... give me what?" He was either drunk or high, but whatever was in that drink, it made him feel uneasy. "I,I, I think I've got the wrong address..."
Frida then stops him and gestures him to drink more of the concoction "Do me these tings, Lincoln... The Cubans, nasty proud foofoos, mmm, been making my lovely Haitian boys shake de heads. Now they told the policeman where me been stashing my powders. Dey tink it drugs, them stupid. Now be a good boy Tommy and go and get the powders for Auntie Frida."
Lincoln just simply nodded monotoningly said "Yeah, yeah, sure, sure." And then he leaves the shack. Under the effects of Auntie Poulet's potion, Lincoln goes to retrieve the stashes for her. As he collects the first stash, Lincoln is ambushed by VCPD SWAT, but manages to escape them. Lincoln then quickly grabs a vehicle and heads to the locations where the remaining stashes are located, while being pursued by the cops. After collecting all of them, Lincoln heads back to Auntie Frida's shack and successfully delivers the stashes.
After that, the effects of the potion wore off. He was curious as to why he was standing in front of a shack in Little Haiti, so he just basically went home and relaxed for a bit. He couldn't remember any events previous to that.
