Chapter 34: Cap the Collector
With everything going on in Vice City, seems like Lincoln's plan on building a criminal empire is well under on its way, with more allies than enemies he could count. However, back on Liberty City; The Forelli Family's Donna, Lori, is getting impatient with Lincoln since he never paid her the money which was lost during the drug deal. She is also angry that he has cut off all his connections with her. Due to this, she sends members of her family to attempt to tax Lincoln's various business setups.
She targeted heavily on Lincoln's business on Cash Counterfeiting, constantly threatening the workers inside to pay for Lori instead on Lincoln; after hearing that trouble is going down in the Print Works from a desperate Luan Rosenberg, Lincoln decides to head to the factory in person. What he saw was the factory's manager, Earnest Kelly, badly injured. Luckily, Lincoln was there on time to help the old man and ask for information on what is going on inside.
Kelly was helped up by the other workers and Lincoln approached them "Ok, what's the emergency?" After gaining a bit of composure, Lincoln observed his injuries, he immediately knew this wasn't just an accident, it was a handy work of some organized crime. He then asked Kelly with a stern voice "Who?..."
Kelly took a few seconds to answer as he was catching his breath, "Lincoln...some mob thugs ...said they'd come to take their cut...said it was a Ms. Forello's money...I feel like crap." Then came panting again as he ran out of breath. Lincoln, shocked by what he just heard, he believed that his business is hit by gangs or somewhat, but he couldn't believe that the one who planned on sabotaging his business is none other than his close friend and boss Lori Forelli. He wanted to make sure so he asked Kelly again "Forelli? LORI Forelli?"
Kelly replied back "Yeah, that's her...I think...they were very insistent..." Lincoln then put his hand on his shoulder, giving him assurance he won't hurt him further and satisfied that he now has answers "Don't worry pop, I'm not angry with you." He then looked at the other and said "Get him to the hospital."
As he was about to leave, Kelly called out to him "Lincoln...rip her a new asshole for me..." Lincoln, obviously determined to end this replied back "I'm gonna rip her two!" Now Lincoln was really mad and now decided he had enough, and plan to kill Lori and leave the family once and for all. Leaving the factory, Lincoln seeks out the collectors that were scattered throughout the city, taxing his business; because Lincoln had many businesses all over the city he has to go through each business he has.
He first spotted two collectors riding a Sanchez on their way to Viceport where he has a business there called the Boatyard. Lincoln manages to successfully kill the two and head to the next one which was located in Vice Point, a bar called the Malibu Club, luckily he arrived before the collectors could leave, resulting in a shootout, but Lincoln manages to kill both of them. The last squad of collectors was taxing his business of confiscated automobiles called Sunshine Autos which was in Little Havana. Heading there the collectors already got in their motorbikes and Lincoln forces to pursue after them, which took them almost half across the entire Vice City. But like the last 2 collectors, they ended up dead in the hands of Lincoln Vercetti. With the collectors now dead, Lincoln already expected that Lori s going to come for him next, so he devices a plan to take her out and finally becoming ruler of Vice City's criminal empire.
