First of all hello everyone. I don't own Fallout it is owned by Bethesda (even though they are becoming an evil company now.) First off I want to explain my characters in this game. I am basing the character's (the main characters) names off of what I called them in my play through.
Fallout 3: The Lone Wonderer name Dante
Fallout 4: The Sole Survivor name Knight
I am also adding two mods that I used while playing. The first one is Ties that Bind, it adds a sister to the game Amanda. If you haven't used it play FO3 one more time with this in its bad ass.
The second one is Synthetic Love, This is a mod that brings your wife back fully voiced as a synth. I love both these mods if you haven't used it do it.
The settlement of Springvale was thriving. In ten short years the Lone Wonderer helped what was once an abandoned destroyed town live again. The fresh clean water that flowed, in what was once a barren land, known as the Capital Wasteland, helped bring life back to the irradiated soil of the land. The Lone Wonderer also was the key in getting Vault 101 to open its doors. The knowledge the Vault had on the past technology helped bring electricity, running water, and a sense of civility to the population of the Capital Wasteland.
The groups that came together to help Project Purity succeed, also banded together to help bring law and order back to the post-apocalyptic land. Raiders and slavers were being brought under heal by both the Brotherhood of Steal, and the Regulators. More and more people moved freely in the Capital Wasteland, and more and more people from surrounding lands began to move into and trade with the Capital's citizens.
It was a dream come true for everyone, everyone but the Lone Wonderer. He stood on the cliff above Springvale, looking at the settlement he helped to build. He was happy for the peace and safety he helped to bring, but he couldn't smile. A restless feeling was building in him for the last year. A feeling of dreed, a feeling of war. He had no idea where this feeling came from, or what caused it, but he knew it was something he needed to worry about. He began to carry Blackhawk, his old .44 Magnum again, along with his lever-action rifle, Lincoln's Repeater. War was coming to him again, and he had to be ready.
"I hate that you carry those things again." He heard Amata's voice say as she walked up behind him. She hugged his arms, and the smell of rose petals filled his nostrils. Her presence was comforting to him, a light that pierced through the darkness that threaten to pull him back down.
"Somethings coming. I don't know what, but something bad is just over the horizon." He said not looking at her.
"Dante, we have known piece for ten years now. Children run and play on none radiated grass. They drink and eat food that is not tainted by the radiation that use to plague this entire land." She said as she moved to look at the Wonderer in his eyes. "This, all of this," she said as she pointed at the settlement of Springvale, "This is because of you. The sacrifices you made, the pain you endured brought life to this place. Why can't you relax?"
"I didn't do any of this," he said with a smile, "The people did it for themselves. They banded together."
"They only did that after you purified the water. Because of that even my father…"
"My dad purified the water not me." He said cutting her off and turning away from her. "My father is the hero of this land. Me, I'm the guy with the gun. Even Amanda helped with Project Purity. Me I just killed anyone who got in the way."
"That's not true." Amata said as she grabbed his hand forcing him to look at her again. "You are more than a killer." She stared into his eyes, pleading with him to see the man she saw.
He smiled and drew her into his arms. "I don't deserve you."
"Well that's obvious, but I believe in charity." She laughed as she laid her head against his chest. He leaned in to kiss her, when one of the guards of Springvale came running up the cliff side.
"Sir, I'm sorry your sister is on the radio, she says she needs to speak to you now. She says to hurry."
Amata's heart dropped as she saw the smile that was just on his face, get replaced by the warrior, again. He turned from her and followed the guard down the hill to the radio shack. "Dante's gone, and the Wonderer is back." She whispered to herself as she slowly walked back towards the Vault's entrance
"Amanda what's going on?" Dante said as he grabbed the mic to the hand radio.
"We're coming in hot, little brother."
"Is it raider?"
"No, I have no Idea who or what this guys is. He's a walking arsenal."
"Who, what the hell is going on?" Dante yelled in the mic, his hand reaching
"I don't know, Shit." Amanda yelled as her transmission cut off.
"Amanda, Amanda?" Dante yelled into the mic. "Someone get her back on the line."
"Sir, I see her coming down the road."
Dante ran to the gate parapet and looked over. He could see a dust cloud in the distance. "Someone bring me a pair of binoculars!"
Dante looked around and saw a gate guard carrying a sniper rifle. Dante quickly grabbed it out of the guard's hand and looked down the sites. He saw Amanda riding her newly refurbished motorcycle down the dirt road with someone sitting behind her. A bright flash caused him to push the scope of the rifle away from his eye. What the hell was that, Dante thought to himself as he looked through the scope again. Then he saw him, a man wearing what looked to be a black trench coat, riding a motorcycle much like his sister's but in his hand was some kind of energy weapon. The man fired his gun again barely missing Amanda.
"Shit," Dante said. "Get that gate open now!" he shouted to the guards at the bottom. "Everyone else battle stations." Dante closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Is this the danger I've been sensing? He opened his eyes and looked down the scope of the rifle. His mind was focused as he lined the shot. He squared the sights center mass on the man chasing his sister, the man trying to take his family from him. BAM, the gun fired. The recoil hit Dante's should as he maintained visual to confirm the hit. Dante saw the man fly off the motorcycle and onto the ground.
Amanda turned just in time to see her pursuer hit the ground. "That won't stop him." Harkness yelled into Amanda's ear.
"I know," she said as she pushed her motorcycle to its top speed. The gates of Springvale opened up a few seconds before she crossed it. She slammed on the motorcycles breaks and jumped off before the bike came to a stop. In one motion she pulled out her Laser Rifle, and initiated her VATS program from her pip boy, and focused on her pursuer.
"Dante close the damn gates, close it now!" Amanda shouted as her VATS registered that a target had been picked up.
Dante signaled for the gate to be closed as he watched in shock, as the man stood up from the ground, "Impossible." Dante whispered. Dante also activated his VATS program and sighted in on the man once again. The familiar green glow out lined his target, as his target also appeared to magnify in Dante's vision. Dante sighted in again on the man's head, the program showed that he had a 98% chance of striking his target. Dante pulled the trigger twice and saw the rounds fly off towards the man. Suddenly a blue electric field encased the man and the rounds bounced off harmlessly.
"He's coming for me boy. There's no stopping him." Harkness said from the bottom of the gate.
"What the hell is he?" Dante asked without taking his eyes off of the man who began to walk towards the town.
"He's what I could have been."
"What?"
"He's a damn Courser." Harkness yelled as he stared at the man in black walking slowly through the gate.
"A3-21, you are designated as a malfunctioning unit, come now and no one else will die." The man said in a robotic voice.
"Amanda what the hell is going on?" Dante yelled.
"I have no idea, some group showed calling themselves the Institute showed up at Rivet City, and said Harkness was some kind of escape Synth and they were taking him back. Then they began to shoot up the place with some kind of energy weapons I have never seen."
"How much?"
"Just two." Amanda said in a whisper. "Just two of them took down over half of the Rivet City guard force and 4 knights from the Brotherhood of Steel. All those people and we barley took one down."
"Open the gate I'll go to him, I can't let anymore die for me." Harkness said as he looked towards the gate.
"Shut up," Dante said as he looked down at Harkness, "You're a friend, and we don't hand over friends to die." With that Dante jumped off the parapet and began walking towards the Courser.
"Dante." Amanda yelled, "He'll kill you."
"No, no he won't." Dante said as he pulled Blackhawk from its holster. "This is war, and war never changes."
Ok its been awhile since I wrote anything so I'm still a little rusty. Hope you guys like this beginning. I plan to get the next part of the story out within the next two days.
