Chapter 10

His breath felt hot against her cold, pale body. Slowly but surely, the couple making out made their way to the bottom of the stairs that led up to Scorpius' dorm. There they paused, unsure of what to do. Rose knew that if she went up there, there would be no turning back. They would go all the way, and she would be powerless to stop it. Instead, if she pulled him to the couch, they would just make out. He knew that she was a virgin, and he would respect her decision. Seeing as Scorpius wasn't even her boyfriend, the choice should have been easy. Bus Rose knew that she was ready. Rose knew that Scorpius was the right one. So, before Scorpius could do anything to dissuade her, she pulled him into a deep kiss and went up the stairs.

Before she knew it, she was thrown on his bed to be lavished. Rose had never felt so alive. Hot, gentle lips sought hers, as if asking for permission to finish the kiss. Rose reached her hand up to bring his head closer to hers. Her own lips moved on their own accord, matching her lover's pace. Her body still ached for something, she pulled in again, this time harder, her lips leaning in closer to his, deepening the kiss. Sparks flew in Rose's eyes, her body trembling for more. His hands, as if reading the sings, gently came up from where they had been laying on the bed, keeping his body away from Rose. Now, they were pressed even closer together, every inch they moved they would touch. Scorpius took her hair and began to caress it between his fingers on one hand. With his other hand, he reached behind her till his hand was resting on her back. Then he pulled her body even closer to his, kissing her mouth more deeply and passionate than before.

A hot jolt spread through Rose's body, her skin now feeling as if it was on fire every time Scorpius touched her. Rose loved that feeling and moved her body, begging for more. His tongue tenderly traced the outline of her lips before plunging in. Rose let her tongue mix with his, feeling every sort of emotion that she could. Without warning, Scorpius let go of her hair and moved his hand down her neck. Then, leaving her lips, his mouth began to make his mark on her neck. Rose moaned with pleasure at his soft lips, gently pressed on her skin. She needed to feel more of him. Shuttering, Rose's hands began to move up and down his body. She pulled at his shirt, begging him to take it off. Without removing his lips from her neck, Scorpius shrugged off his shirt and threw it on the ground. Pressing her hands against his hard and toned chest, the red-head pulled his lips to rest upon hers again.

She could feel that Scorpius was now trying to remove her own shirt, grabbing it at the bottom and trying to pull it up. Leaving his lips, Rose took his hands and guided them upwards to her head. Once her shirt was off, Scorpius stopped for a moment. He sat up and just watched her. It was nerve-wracking for Rose, for she had never before been this far with a boy. Before, Scorpius had only felt her up while her shirt was still on. Her hands began to cover her red-lace bra, but Scorpius stopped her. Without any words, he began to touch her, his smooth hands lightly tracing the outline of her bra. Suddenly, Rose was on fire again. She needed Scorpius to touch and kiss her. With her hands, she reached up and grabbed his bare shoulders. Pulling his head down, her lips attacked his, their tongues mixing.

Scorpius undid his belt and started to pull his pants off when he stopped. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

Rose just stared at him, her eyes growing wide. "More than anything," she whispered, her wide eyes roaming down his body. With her hands she began to pull his pants all the way off. Her own pants quickly followed his to the floor as Scorpius kissed her everywhere.

"I love you, Scorpius, "Rose said breathlessly between kisses. "You know that."

"I do," her responded quickly, pressing his mouth on hers again. "I love you too."

After those words were pronounced, there was no holding back. That night, together, they gave everything to each other.

Rose woke up laying on a soft object. Sitting up, she rubbed her head, trying to remember what had happened the night before. The Head Girl glanced around her, taking in the surroundings and noticing the boyish look to the room. "Oh Merlin," she exclaimed out loud quietly, all the memories of last night flooding back into her head. She had slept with Scorpius, the greatest player in all of Hogwarts. Her ex-boyfriend who had been ignoring her. Well, he hadn't been ignoring her completely if last night was anything to go by. And besides that, he might be her boyfriend now, though they hadn't defined the relationship. Rose panicked for a second, realizing this. Maybe he didn't want to be her boyfriend. Maybe that was just his way of playing me.

But then she recalled last night. Scorpius had told her everything after they had sex. He told her why he broke up with her in the first place. He told her that he had never stopped thinking about her. He told her that he would talk to his father and make him see reason, dammed the consequences. The only thing he didn't tell her was what the consequences were. He seemed to close off and didn't want to talk. Rose respected that, but it did set off a buzzer in her mind. If Scorpius wouldn't tell her, than it must be bad. But, Rose quickly forgot that feeling. She knew that Scorpius would never do anything to hurt anyone. And besides, most importantly, he told her that he loved her. And Rose had said that she loved him too.

That was probably the biggest step in their relationship besides the fact that they slept together. Having gone out with Scorpius for the better part of the fall, Rose knew that he didn't open up often. She guessed that he got that trait from his father based on what she knew about Mr. Malfoy. The whole Malfoy family as a whole seemed to be deceptive, not letting others into their lives. Having Scorpius tell her that he loved her was a big deal for him and for her. She finally knew exactly where she stood with him. And Scorpius finally admitted to himself that he did like her.

Rose sighed, thinking about what had passed. After the short 'I love you' conversation, everything else was a blur. Rose tried to remember in detail what had occurred, but she couldn't. All she could picture was Scorpius touching her everywhere while her body felt like it was on fire. Then him entering her, his smooth, pale skin coming to rest on hers. For a brief second, she hoped that Scorpius had remembered to do the protection spell. She would have done it herself, but she didn't know how. They didn't teach you that sort of thing in Charms or Defense Against the Dark Arts. Rose also was sort of tipsy at the time. Scorpius was the first person she had ever been with. A small part of her hoped that he would be the only person she would be with, but Rose knew that was foolish. They were only seventeen, barley adults. She knew the chances of them getting married were slim, but Rose still couldn't help but picture it.

Rose glanced around the room again, smelling the faint stink of sweat and sex. It was then that she noticed that Scorpius was nowhere to be found. Pulling the bed sheets around her naked body, Rose stood up. She wobbled for a second before she could grasp her balance. Last night had been her first time, so it made sense that she was a little sore. Slowly, Rose walked around the room and picked up some of her clothes that had been thrown everywhere. After finding everything but her scarf, Rose walked into Scorpius's bathroom and dumped her clothes there. She could always come back for her scarf. And since she didn't really want anyone smelling her like this, she took a shower.

Once she got out of the shower, Rose dressed and dried her hair. If she was going to do the walk of shame, she might as well look good doing it, even though no one was going to see her. Her room was, after all, only down the stairs, across her own personal common room, and up her stairs. But she didn't leave the room quite yet, still hoping that Scorpius would appear. After waking up without him, she had figured that he had gone to get her breakfast from the kitchens. While searching for her clothes, Rose became aware that his clothes were nowhere to be found. So he must have gotten up and put them away. It hadn't occurred to her once that Scorpius had left her for good. She was worth more than a one night stand to him. After all, who tells a one night stand that they love them?

By now, it was almost nine o'clock, and Rose really needed to go. Even though it was a Sunday, her cousins would start to worry about where she was. They were probably all in the Great Hall right now, wondering where she was. Rose needed to go change and then think of a lie that would be believable as to why she slept in. By now they would all know about her and Lorcan, so saying that she was with him was out of the question. Perhaps they would believe that she was up late studying and fell asleep in the common room without her alarm clock to wake up. Rose had done this twice before, so it seemed realistic. They would have no reason to believe that she was lying.

Taking one more glance around the room, Rose walked out the door with her head down. Then, something she hadn't seem before caught her eye. A small note on cream parchment was resting on the side table with words in Scorpius's handwriting. Though it didn't have her name on it, she picked it up anyways and read it.

To my sweetheart,

Last night was amazing. I'm so glad that you forgave everything that I did to you. I don't know how much you remember for you were a bit tipsy, but I won't let you get away again. I won't let anything stand in our way. Sorry I could not be here when you wake, but I am going to the Malfoy Manor to talk with my father today. Don't worry about me, though. He won't do anything to hurt me with my grandmother there. Though my grandfather can be a bit of an arse, my father wouldn't do anything to hurt my grandmother's feelings. I will meet you back in the common room at eleven. Please cover for me if someone comes looking for me. My heart is with you.

Love, Scorpius

Clutching the note to her chest, Rose's heart jumped with joy. She knew that Scorpius would never just leave her without at least leaving a note. Rose's hope was now restored that Scorpius wanted to be serious with her. He wanted to talk with her in their common room today. With new determination, Rose walked out of the room, leaving the note sitting under a pile of books on Scorpius's side table.
