Chapter 44: A Shot in the Dark
AN: Hello everybody! I got another chapter up and ready for you all. I hope you enjoy it!
***I don't own anything in this story, so please don't sue me.***
The guard escorted Zelda to the front door and before she left, she turned to the guard.
"Check on her periodically. Don't let her leave the castle grounds and the moment she wakes up, please inform me." The guard bowed his head.
"As you wish. Please be safe, your highness."
"I promise, Doug." She gently grabbed his hand and squeezed before she left the castle and walked towards the town. She looked around and, like every day in Hyrule's town, it was packed and busy with people buying, selling, and talking to one another.
"Zelda!" One woman called out and waved to the queen. "How are you, dear?"
"Hello Candice. I am well. How are you? How has everything been for everyone here? There's been quite a lot of moving for everyone. I'm sorry to have put you through that."
"It's alright. These times have certainly been trying, but we're from Hyrule! As long as we have you, and Samus, we will forever stay strong."
"Candice, you're too kind to us. Samus and I are just like everyone else." Zelda stated as she looked around.
"Oh! Tim wishes to speak to you. He is hiding behind Melanie."
"I'll go see him right away. Candice, be safe. I care about you and your family."
"Our family will be fine. You be sure to keep yours safe." Candice smiled and Zelda approached a young girl and her younger brother cowering behind her.
"Hello Melanie. Hi Tim." Zelda knelt down in front of them.
"Hello, queen." Melanie waved eagerly at Zelda. "Tim, say hi." Tim didn't say anything. He whimpered and hid behind his sister.
"Melanie, you know you can call me Zelda." Zelda reminded her.
"But you're the queen! Everyone has to do what you say."
"In that case, I want you to call me Zelda from now on, ok?" Melanie hesitated, but Zelda smiled. "Everyone has to do what I say. That means you too." Melanie smiled and nodded her head. Zelda then peered around Melanie. "Tim, won't you say hi to me? I haven't seen you in such a long time." Tim slowly came out from behind her sister, but his eyes were looking at the ground.
"…hi…"
"What's wrong? You're always smiling, but something seems to be upsetting you." He looked up and he was clearly concerned.
"Monsters are everywhere." He quietly admitted.
"It's alright, Tim. No monsters are going to hurt you."
"But when we were going away, there were lots of monsters. And you weren't there. What if they come back?" Zelda knelt down and motioned for the young boy to come towards her. Tim obliged and he tightly hugged the queen.
"Tim, I promise you. I'll always be here. I will protect everyone against those mean old monsters." Tim broke the hug, but he was still scared. "Tim, can you give me a great big smile? Your smile always makes me feel better." Zelda asked and Tim did as the queen asked. "I feel much better, Tim. Thank you for smiling." Tim's smile grew a bit wider and Zelda hugged the young boy. He broke the hug and the two waved goodbye as Zelda walked towards the town to meet with other townsfolk.
"Oh! Heya Zelda!" A gruff voice called out. Zelda looked over and smiled at the voice.
"Hello Ross." Zelda smiled and pulled her pants leg up high enough to expose the tattoo on her ankle that he had put there.
"See? What'd I tell you? It looks great on you and it doesn't show."
"Thank you, Ross. I absolutely love it."
"If you ever need another one-"
"Thank you, but I'll leave the tattoos for Samus." Zelda laughed. "Is there any space left to tattoo?"
"She's putting tattoos on tattoos." He laughed and Zelda joined in.
"What am I going to do with her?" Zelda placed a hand over her eyes and shook her head.
"It's good to have you back, your highness. Things have been crazy since you were…ah…you know…"
"Dead?" Zelda asked and he nodded. "I'm not going anywhere, Ross."
"Good. You need to live for, like, another three hundred years."
"Three hundred years?!" Zelda exclaimed with a smile. "You're crazy. Samantha is ready and primed to take the throne when my time comes. You're in good hands."
"Ey fuck off! I'll have a word with the damn bitch up there!" A drunken slur yelled out. Zelda turned and could sense a problem at the bar.
"Ross, could you and your brothers assist me with something? I feel like I may need some back-up with this."
"Sure." Ross turned around and yelled. "Hey Stumps! B.J.! Get over here! Joey, you're in charge while we're gone!" Two other men came over to the queen. One looked smaller than the others; his head was covered in stubble, but he had a toothpick in his mouth. The other guy had a brown Mohawk and black shades with a goatee to boot. Under any other circumstances, Zelda would most likely avoid this group, but Zelda loved everyone within her kingdom and the business owners loved their queen.
"Heya, Zelda." The man with the Mohawk bowed.
"How we doin' your highness?" The other guy nodded his head.
"Hello Theodore. B.J." She smiled.
"Your highness-" The shorter man complained.
"I know, I know…you prefer Stumps. I'm just having fun." She giggled and he smiled.
"You're a bully." Stumps laughed and Zelda joined in.
"So, what's the deal? You call us over to say hi?" B.J. questioned.
"There's a drunk asshole over there. We're acting as her bodyguards. Stumps, take point."
"Got it." The shorter man began walking as Ross and B.J. walked next to the queen.
"What's the plan? Stumps asked.
"Let me speak with them. If things get ugly…B.J.-"
"We'll take care of it. Can't let our ruler get her hands dirty." He cracked his knuckles and smirked.
"I can handle myself. I just want you all here in case this individual has friends." B.J. looked disappointed, but all three of them knew that Zelda was a lot tougher than she appeared. They approached the bar and she saw a clearly intoxicated man and the bartender with his arms folded stand at the entrance.
"Henry, what's going on?" Zelda sternly questioned the bartender.
"Hello, your highness. This drunk has been cut off and he refuses to accept that. So he's threatening to kill everyone, and I am escorting him out. He's threatened to kill you as well. Please stay back. I can handle this."
"Henry, I will deal with this. I won't allow anyone to threaten anyone else in my kingdom." Zelda approached the drunk man and folded her arms. "I do not know you…so that means you live outside the kingdom. Who are you?"
"…fuck you…" He slurred as he nearly fell to the ground. "Jussss…juss one more."
"Absolutely not." Zelda shook her head. The man growled and tried running towards the queen. He threw a punch and Zelda easily dodged it before flicking her wrist and holding him in place.
"I do not consider myself-" She closed her eyes as he spat at the queen. Zelda wiped away his saliva and glared at the man just as two guards ran towards the queen.
"Your highness! Forgive us. We-"
"It's fine, Miguel. Please escort this man to the dungeon. When he sobers up, kick him out. I won't tolerate such behavior." The two guards nodded and grabbed the drunkard with them. He broke free and charged the queen. Zelda took a defensive stance, but B.J. threw a hard punch to the side of the man's head and he fell to the ground.
"Sorry, Queen. But he had it coming." Zelda remained silent as the guards dragged him away.
"Thank you, B.J."
"Ah, it was nothing." He waved his hand like he didn't care, but the smug smile on his face said otherwise.
"Henry, are you alright?" Zelda approached the older bartender and the man chuckled.
"I'm in the wrong business if I have trouble with people drinking alcohol." He nodded. "Speaking of, you need a drink? On the house."
"I'll pass…but thank you." Zelda nodded. "I'm just glad that there wasn't too much violence." She stated, but her face showed concern with the man.
"Don't worry about him. He'll be run out of town if he tries coming back. No one gets away with attacking our queen."
"Do not pursue him." Zelda spoke with a serious tone. "That is a direct order. Samus will deal with this when she returns."
"Alright. I'm not planning on running after him. You boys would do well to heed the queen's advice."
"We hear ya, pops." Ross stated. "Samus ain't the kind of lady I'd want to piss off."
"Agreed." B.J. nodded his head. "Thinking about her getting mad scares me."
"Thank fuck she's on our side." Stumps remarked.
"You're in the presence of our queen! Stop with all that cursing!" Henry yelled, but Zelda lightly laughed.
"Henry, it's quite alright." She reassured the men. "As long as you don't curse around the children, I am fine with it."
"Oh! Lady Zelda! You must come with me!" An older woman grabbed the queen by the wrist.
"Is it the latest gossip, Dorothy?" Zelda smirked as the woman dragged her towards the steps in front of the church.
"Would you ever doubt me?" She took a seat and clapped her hands once. "Now then, there's Aaron and Rachel." Dorothy began and she spent an hour talking and gossiping.
"…and I think that covers everything." Dorothy stated and Zelda laughed.
"Dorothy, nothing gets by you in Hyrule. Thank you." Zelda stood up and looked around. "I really should get going. There's a lot of people I need to speak to, and not enough hours in the day." Zelda spent the remainder of the day talking up the town; from the shop owners to the townsfolk. Zelda made sure she spoke to every single citizen that lived within town. As the day began to end, the sun was fading and Zelda stretched and yawned before returning home. When she arrived, she noticed the boys were coming back; talking and laughing with one another.
"Hey mom! You should've come fishing with us. They were really biting today." Jackson stated.
"Jackson caught a giant catfish. I caught us a salmon. I wish we brought a camera. They were HUGE!" Alexander stated.
"Should I tell the cooks that we don't need them to go fishing tomorrow? You two can probably catch enough fish to feed the staff."
"Well…" Jackson rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously. Alexander and Zelda laughed as they entered the castle. Samantha walked down the stairs and gulped hard.
"Hey mom." She stated and Zelda felt uneasy again. Though she had spent the whole day in town, she had momentarily forgotten about Samantha's memory.
"Samantha, won't you join me in some…training?"
"Training?" Samantha tilted her head slightly. "I could never-"
"Samantha, I must insist." Zelda gulped hard in an attempt to put on a brave face. Not wanting to upset her mother, Samantha nodded. "Excellent."
"Can we come, mom? You know, just to watch."
"Of course. In fact, I think I'll work with you boys first. I want to see how strong you are."
"Seriously? Awesome!" The boys cheered and quickly ran to grab training swords.
"Grab one for your sister!" Zelda called out and they were gone. "Let's go outside and wait for them."
"Mom, why must I learn how to fight? Isn't that what the guards are for?"
"Let's pretend there's someone out there who outfoxes the guards and makes it to your room. Who will come save you when your assailant is within six feet of you?"
"Alright, I see your point." Samantha nodded and the boys came back with four wooden swords.
"Right." Zelda took two swords and tossed one to her daughter. She yelped before taking a step back and letting the wooden sword hit the ground. She cautiously picked it up and looked like she had never held a weapon before.
"Who's first?" Zelda questioned her sons.
"Me! Me!" The boys raised their hands and hoped to challenge their mother.
"I can't decide…how about…" Zelda looked in the distance and saw… "No…"
"Wait, is that…" Alexander started to say, but lost his voice.
"Marcus?" Samantha quietly asked.
"What's he doing here?"
"He can't be here! I said-" Zelda stopped and realized she stated that only family members were allowed to enter the castle. Marcus is Samantha's wife and therefore, he is family. "…shit." She barely uttered the word under her breath so no one heard it. "Jackson! Alexander! Run up to my bedroom and go into your mother's nightstand. Bring me the contents." The boys did as they were told while Zelda moved in front of her daughter.
"Marcus, what are you doing?" Samantha called out, but he didn't reply. "Marcus? Say something!" Marcus didn't say a word and continued walking towards them.
"Young Marcus! The princess has given you an order. Comply or we will be-"
"No! I will handle this." Zelda held up an arm without taking her eyes off of her daughter's husband. Jackson and Alexander returned with two guns.
"Mom, are you-"
"Thank you." Zelda took the guns and pointed them at Marcus. "I'm going to count to three. Either you turn around and leave or-" He charged at them and before she could fire, he hit his mother-in-law in the gut and then the cheek. Zelda was quickly knocked to the side and a fire was lit within the boys.
"What the hell?" Jackson yelled and tossed his wooden sword to the side. "Sword me."
"But, sire…you just tossed your sword-"
"Sword me!" Jackson yelled and the guard understood. Jackson couldn't do much damage with a wooden sword. He pulled the iron sword he had sheathed and tossed in in an open space away from the group. Once it hit the ground, Jackson chased it down and picked it up; ready to fight. Alexander ran towards a different guard.
"Prince Alex! Wha-"
"I need to borrow your sword. I'll bring it right ba-" He looked up and descending from the sky was Tibarn, Janaff, Ulke, and the three heron siblings. "Hey! Tibarn!"
"Hello, young prince." He smiled at the boy and looked around. He quickly noticed Zelda on the ground and Jackson standing across from a purple Marcus McCloud. "What is going on?"
"You're dead!" Jackson cried out and charged Marcus with the sword. Marcus deflected the first strike and countered, but Jackson was too quick and he dodged his attack. He swung the blade again and he missed again. Marcus kicked him squarely in the chest while Samantha quietly ran towards her mother.
"Mom! Are you alright?"
"Sh-shoot him." She struggled, but returned to her feet.
"What?! No. I couldn't. He's my husband and a princess-"
"Goddamn it, Samantha. Do as I tell you!" Zelda barked while her hands glowed red and she shot Marcus with a powerful magic attack. He turned around and Zelda quickly retrieved a gun for her daughter.
"How do I…make it…go?"
"Oh, for Hylia's sake…" Zelda grumbled and conjured another spell to knock Marcus back to the ground. She adjusted the gun in Samantha's hands "Jackson, go stand by…Tibarn?" she asked with surprise.
"What?" Jackson called out.
"Go over there!" She pointed in the direction of Tibarn. Jackson complied and once he passed a certain mark, Zelda threw up a barrier in case Samantha completely botched the shot. "Point and shoot. That's all you need to do."
"But-"
"Samantha-" Marcus charged and knocked Zelda to the ground and roundhouse kicked Samantha away from her mother. She dropped the gun, but quickly realized her mother was in serious danger. She crawled to the gun and with shaky hands, attempted to point it at Marcus.
"Marcus…" She quietly uttered as her eyes started watering. Marcus began throwing punch after punch to the queen's stomach; Zelda groaned in pain with each hit. She lowered the gun and began to quietly cry.
"Samantha!" Alexander called out. "Save mom!" Samantha hesitated for another moment. She gulped hard and shook her head.
"I…I…I can't."
"Mom's going to die!" Marcus then wrapped his hands around her throat and Zelda tried to pry his fingers off her throat, but she wasn't strong enough. Samantha raised the gun once more.
"Marcus…I…I'm sorry…" She closed her eyes and squeezed the trigger.
BANG!
Samantha's shot was well off the mark and she fired in a direction that no one was standing in, but it all came rushing back to her. The stadium, her mother's death, Corneria, Genny, Marcus, Krystal, the red doors, Ylisstol, Forget-Me-Not Valley, Hoshido, Nohr, Alola…she remembered everything.
"I…I remember. I remember everything." She shook her head and looked up at Marcus. Samantha clutched the gun and fired two more rounds. The first hit Marcus' hand. The second grazed his head and he turned his attention to the princess. He let go of the queen who began gasping for air and he began walking towards the princess.
"You're not my fucking husband!" Samantha yelled.
"Sa…Sam…an…tha…" Zelda quietly sputtered between coughing and breathing, but she was focused solely on Marcus.
"I don't know who the fuck you are, but Jesus fucking Christ do you have some nerve. You come to my kingdom…you come to my house…you attack my family…nobody fucks with my family! Bring it on, motherfucker! I'm not scared anymore!" She threw the gun aside and held up her fists. Marcus charged her and Samantha charged him before the two exchanged in hand-to-hand combat. Both combatants were equally matched until Marcus went for another roundhouse and Samantha ducked before sweeping his leg. She sat on his chest and started viciously throwing punches that connected with his face. Marcus rolled over and proceeded to do the same thing to her. Samantha kicked him off and he stood up.
"Reyson, take your siblings inside. We'll deal with this." Tibarn ordered before spreading his wings. "Naesala!"
"On it." Naesala had already transformed and was primed to attack.
"Wait!" Alexander called out. "You might hit Sam!" Though both were determined to assist the firstborn, they knew it was getting late and the eyesight of the bird tribe was significantly less sharp at night. Marcus kicked Samantha in the stomach. She winced, but returned with aggression. She punched him in the chin and put him in a headlock. He scratched the princess and she exclaimed in pain, she let go and he used that that opportunity to gain the upper hand. He threw a few quick jabs and threw her a few feet away from her. He then pulled a gun and glanced at Leanne.
"Asshole!" Samantha kicked the gun and pushed him aside. He went for an uppercut, but the princess fell into the splits and quickly stood back up. She popped him in the chin with two quick punches before sprinting towards the gun. Marcus pulled her hair back and kneed her hard in the back before discarding her to the side like garbage. Samantha reached and grabbed his ankle as he tried to go for the gun. He fell to the ground and she quickly got up and made a beeline for the gun. However, Marcus managed to get up after she passed. Samantha did manage to get to the gun first, but as she turned around, she was met with a fist to the jaw. Marcus pulled the gun and slapped her cheek to disorient the firstborn. He then kicked her knee and Sparta-kicked her in the chest. Samantha saw another red door just a few feet from where Leanne was standing. Samantha swept Marcus' legs once more and charged towards Leanne.
"Leanne! Run!" Samantha screamed as she sprinted towards the heron. Marcus quickly got back up and aimed at the heron woman. He fired just as Samantha reached the woman. She pushed her aside to avoid her getting hit with the gun, but she tripped and tumbled towards the door. Samantha's momentum carried her through the door and towards wherever the other end led to. Marcus turned around to deal with the Hylian queen, but he was knocked back by a spell. To the surprise of everyone, it was Rhea who conjured a spell to knock back the purple fox.
"Alois, Catherine." Rhea ordered and the two immediately rushed him. Marcus managed to block the attack by both warriors. Shamir aimed her bow and arrow in wait for an opportunity. "Shamir, I trust you to find a window." Rhea quickly ran towards the queen and knelt down next to her. "Zelda! We must return you to the castle."
"I…where…Samantha…" She winced in pain while Rhea looked around.
"I do not see her. Come, let us return home. We will deal with this situation for you. Rest, my child." With no other option at the moment, Zelda exhaled once more and closed her eyes. Rhea double checked her pulse to ensure she was still living; fortunately, she was. Rhea lift3ed the queen with no issues and alongside Jackson and Alexander, Catherine and Alois managed to gain the upper hand on him. Shamir saw a window and took her shot. She nailed him in the back of the right shoulder with an arrow and before he could react to the pain, he was hit in the chest with Jackson's shoulder and Jackson quickly fell to all fours. Alexander used his brother as a stepping stool; obviously a coordinated effort by the boys of Hyrule, and just before the blonde haired prince could deliver a fatal blow, Marcus leaned his head to the side and Alexander just missed his target by a few inches. Marcus returned to his feet and quickly retreated from the castle grounds.
"Let's go after him." Jackson protested and was about to run, but Tibarn placed a hand on his shoulder.
"No."
"What do you mean no? He attacked our mother!" Alexander yelled. "And he hurt Sam! He's fucking dead!"
"Alex, I understand how you must feel at the moment, but look at what we're facing right now. It's too dark for the laguz to pursue. Marcus is a wanted man in Hyrule. In the morning, we will search for him. But first…" He turned his head to the other warriors. "Who are you three? I have not seen you."
"I am the great Alois!" Alois declared triumphantly as Shamir rolled her eyes.
"Your stories are the only things that are great about you." Shamir shook her head. "I'm Shamir and that's Catherine. Lady Rhea is our fair leader and we reside in Fódlan." She explained while Naesala returned to the group with his wife.
"You're sure you're not hurt?" He asked with concern.
"I am unhurt. Please speak that the queen is not unliving."
"Excuse me?" Catherine squinted her eyes; trying to make sense of her words.
"She is alive, dear sister." Rafiel informed his sister who responded with a smile.
"What did she say, though?" Catherine asked.
"She had hoped that Zelda was not dead." Reyson informed the group. "You said you were from Fódlan? Perhaps you have heard of the immaculate one. Our species was close to the immaculate one many centuries ago."
"I have heard stories of the immaculate one and the heron tribe." Rhea spoke as she joined the group once more. "May I ask where Samantha has run off to? Please do not tell me she has turned rogue and run off with that ruffian." It was at this moment that everyone turned their heads and looked around.
"Where is she?" Jackson asked.
"I have no idea. I…" Alexander looked around. "Sam!" He called out.
"Janaff, Ulke. Tomorrow, we find her. Then we search for Marcus."
"Yes sir!" Both birds saluted their leader.
"We can get you rooms inside the castle." Alexander insisted. "Mom won't mind."
"If you're sure…"
"Naesala!" Reyson cut off. "I don't like this. The last time you took me to a place like this-"
"When will you learn to forgive and forget?" Naesala sighed with frustration.
"He was going to keep me as a pet!" Reyson yelled.
"Temper, Reyson." Rafiel reminded his brother. Reyson took a deep breath and calmed down quickly.
"We're in Hyrule. The castle is completely safe. Zelda is…" Naesala paused and thought about the condition he saw the queen in. "Well…ah…would you rather sleep outside where we might be ambushed again? It's safe to be inside. Plus, there's a ton of guards who will protect us and the royal family. You trust them don't you?" Reyson glanced at Jackson and Alexander before nodding his head.
"Very well." Reyson reluctantly agreed as the group heard a light hum above them and a ship slowly descended to the ground. The symbol on the side marked the ship as an Arwing and the man who hopped out had a light brown coat of fur.
"Good evening, Fox." Tibarn nodded his head to show his appreciation of his friend.
"Where's Zelda? I need to ask her something."
"Zelda is undead." Leanne smiled after her statement.
"She's one of them, too? Damn…" Fox cursed under his breath.
"She's not dead." Rafiel corrected his sister. "She is severely hurt though. Your son was just here and-"
"That bastard was your son?!" Shamir exclaimed with surprise as Fox turned his head and glared at the woman.
"His name is Marcus." Fox remarked before turning back. "Why was he here?"
"He started attacking Sam and almost killed mom." Jackson explained to him. "Mr. McCloud…we…we tried to kill him."
"I don't think it was him, though." Alexander stated.
"What?" Fox questioned. "My son was here…and you attempted to kill him…but you didn't fight my son?"
"The real Marcus has blue fur. That imposter was purple. And his eyes…they were gold. Marcus has light blue eyes…no way that's the same person." Alexander noted.
"It's alright, boys. I know you wouldn't attack him without a reason." Fox returned to his ship and procured a fairy in a bottle. "I'm going to see Zelda."
"She is asleep and badly injured." Rhea informed him. Fox returned to his ship and procured a fairy in a bottle.
"Give me a minute." He rushed inside and the others waited outside for a minute.
"Are we sure he won't kill her?" Alois asked.
"Mr. McCloud is a good guy. He wouldn't attack anyone who didn't deserve it." Alexander informed the Fódlan guests. "Besides, that couldn't have been the real Marcus."
"How would you know?"
"The real Marcus would never attack his wife. That's the truth." Alexander stated with certainty as Fox returned with a now healthy queen. Zelda looked like she was never in a fight; much less almost strangled.
"Fox, will you tell me what Slippy found?" Zelda asked.
"There's no time."
"Fox-"
"Do you trust me?" He asked with a serious tone. "Our window is closing. There's a chance to end this whole thing once and for all, but we need to leave now." Fox stated. Zelda nodded to show she understood.
"Zelda…" Lilly chimed in from behind her. She turned around and approached her senior maid.
"Lilly…I have to go with Fox." She spoke with sadness in her voice.
"When you return, promise me you'll visit Fódlan."
"Why?" Zelda tilted her head to the side.
"Lady Rhea has told me about the other students who reside at Gerreg Mach. I believe you and Samus could teach the children a thing or two…and if you choose not to, please…at least visit my homeland. Promise me you'll at least visit Fódlan."
"Alright." Zelda hugged the senior maid tightly. "I promise I'll visit your homeland when I return."
"Thank you, Zelda."
"I love you, Lilly. I love you so much." She broke the hug and walked to Jackson and Alexander. "Boys…I'm sorry I have to go." The boys groaned with disappointment, but they both understood the situation their mother was in.
"Alright, mom." Alexander nodded.
"We promise not to do anything stupid." Jackson added.
"Take care of your grandfather and Lilly. And don't break anything!" She boarded the ship and Fox hopped in the front seat and quickly took off. "Will you tell me what's going on now? Where are we going? What is happening? What did you find?"
"Do you know about forbidden spells?" Fox asked.
"Forbidden spells? Well…no. It's forbidden so…I never studied it."
"Slippy found something. He analyzed a fight I was involved in against Peach."
"Peach? She was…"
"I'm sorry." Zelda's heart sank and she closed her eyes.
"I tried to save her." Zelda quietly said. "I gave my life to save hers…and in the end-"
"Zelda." Fox stated and she stopped talking. "He couldn't find anything from the worlds we know, so he searched on a broader scale. You've probably noticed that purple color that they all look like? It's embedded in a forbidden spell known as Zaharas." Zelda blinked twice and stared with a confused expression. She had no idea what he was talking about, but he continued. "This forbidden spell happens to be the same forbidden magic that's within the Serenes Forest."
"There's a connection?"
"There's a portal that's opened up. We're all heading towards it to go to the other realm and…Slippy says there's a living presence on the other side."
"So we have to kill it…or reason with it."
"We're going to try the former. There's no telling what it's capable of…whatever it is."
"Who's coming?"
"Everyone. We have reason to believe Gannon and his cronies are on the other side, so you know. Mario, Pit, Ike, Samus, Falcon, Falco, Diddy and Donkey Kong…we've got a decent crew." Fox continued flying at an incredible speed. "We'll save everyone. We're going to find an answer to all this. We'll save our family." Fox reassured the queen. They continued flying and with a new determination and a new goal, the two set out for a journey to find answers and create a solution that would save all worlds.
