Chapter 4: Candy And Confrontations
"Are you an LDS student?" Yuya asked.
"I was planning to be, but not anymore. Not after seeing how cool my new teacher dueled!"
'Okay… calm down. If you drop kick Sora into next week, it might affect the plot.' "I'm not your teacher!"
"Well, if I'm gonna have a teacher, it should be someone interesting!"
"I think I would need a teaching license for that. Come back when I've graduated from college." Don't get me wrong, I like Sora. I just don't like him at the point where he's an obsessive stalker.
I had finally gotten back to the Sakaki's house, and after publishing my duel with Shingo on my computer, went to sleep. I dreamed I was being crushed by a boulder on my chest. It was insanely heavy and I couldn't breathe. I jolted awake, sending a certain Academia spy sprawling on the floor.
"Hey, why'd you do that, teacher?!"
"Oh I'm sorry for waking up. Why were you on me?"
"I just couldn't help but stare upon my teacher's face, and try to absorb dueling knowledge while you slept… hey, where'd he go?"
As I sprinted to You Show to try and escape that maniac, I wondered how much impact on the plot exposing him as an evil spy would have on the plot.
"Hey teacher! Are you going for a run?"
Goddammit how was he so fast?!
I sprinted into a card shop to escape him. Well, since I was here I might as well look around. I found a lot of cards, but nothing fit my deck. Then I saw a card on display. "Excuse me, how much does that card cost?" I asked the store manager.
"Oh, it's very cheap. Since so few people know how to xyz summon, no one buys that card."
"I'll take it." This would be perfect for trolling Sora.
At You Show
"Okay Sora, how about this. We duel. If I win you have to leave me alone. If you win, I'll be your teacher."
"Sounds great!"
"Hey, you guys want to watch?"
"Yeah, this'll be a fun duel!" Exclaimed Yuya.
Sora and I walked into the action room thingy.
"Action field activate! Wildest West!" Shouted Shuzo.
"Eeh, this is boring. Got anything else?" Sora asked.
"Umm… okay Sweets Island, activate!" The area we were in turned into a plain made of candy. Massive gingerbread houses and peppermint sticks towered over us. Lakes of chocolate stretched off as far as the eye could see.
"Duelist locked in battle!"
"Wait what there's a chant?!"
"Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!"
"Wait I didn't sign up for this!"
"They storm through this field!"
"Why are we saying this?!"
"Behold!"
"Ummmm… what's the next line?"
"This is the newest and greatest evolution of dueling!"
"Umm.., got it! Action DUEL!
Sora: 4000
Thomas: 4000
"I'll go first! Draw! I summon Amorphage Pride (LV 4. ATK 1750. SC 3) and set a card. I end my turn."
"My turn! Draw! I summon Fluffal Leo (LV 4. ATK 1600). And when Leo declares an attack he-"
"I know, gets 500 attack." One of my friends from before I came to this dimension had a Frightfur deck, so I know a lot of the cards.
"Nice! Attack!"
Thomas: 4000-350=3650
"I end my turn."
"My turn! Draw! I activate the trap Pendulum Reborn to summon Pride back from the extra deck. Now I normal summon Dragon Dowser (LV 4. ATK 1500)! With these two level four monsters, I build the overlay network! Xyz summon! Kachi Kochi Dragon (RK 4. ATK 2100. OU 2)!" A white dragon made of diamonds appeared on the field and roared.
"Nani!? How do you have an xyz monster!?"
"Now attack his Leo! Brilliant blast!"
Sora: 4000-500=3500
"When Kachi Kochi destroys a monster, he can detach one overlay unit and attack again!"
Sora: 3500-2100=1400
"Gaaah!" Sora screamed as he was blasted backwards.
"I end my turn."
"My turn! Draw! I activate Polymerization to fuse Fluffal Bear and Edge Imp Sabres to fusion summon Frightfur Bear (LV 6. ATK 2200)! Now I summon Edge Imp Tomahawk (LV 4. ATK 1800). With tomahawk's effect, by sending Edge Imp Saw from my hand to the graveyard, you take 800 damage!"
3650-800=2850
"Now Bear attacks!"
2850-100=2750
"When Bear destroys a monster, he equips it to himself and gains its attack! (2200+2100=4300)
Now, Tomahawk attacks you directly!"
2750-1800=950
I was blasted back by all the damage, and flew THROUGH a gingerbread house, landing on my back. Everything hurt. Why did card games have to be so painful?
"Thomas!" Everyone but Sora shouted.
"'S okay. 'M good." I slurred. "My turn. I draw! I activate Pot Of Greed to draw two more cards!" Okay… if there was ever a time for the heart of the cards to be real, it was now. Yes!
"I activate Amorphous Persona! Now I activate a second to send it to the graveyard!"
"Why would you do that?"
"Did you forget my last duel? By banishing the first copy from my graveyard, I can ritual summon! By tributing the level eight Amorphage Goliath in my hand I can ritual summon! Immortal lord of suffering! Bare your fangs from the blackest depths of hell and rip to shreds all who oppose you! Ritual summon! Level eight, Amorphactor Pain, The Imagination Dracoverlord!" My monster slowly rose from one of the chocolate lakes. It roared at Sora and it's gem glowed.
"So what? It can't defeat my Bear!"
"When Pain is on the field, the effects of all face up extra deck monsters are negated! So Kachi Kochi's new effect of giving your monster attack is negated!"
"Oh no!"
"Sora!" Everyone cried.
"I thought you guys were on my side! Now Pain, attack his Bear! Now I activate the action spell High Dive, so my monster gains 1000 attack!"
"When did you get an action card!?"
"When I flew through a freakin house because of you! Now, finish him!"
Sora: 1400-1750=0
Sora fell backward into a chocolate lake as the action field dispersed.
"Good game."
"Aww, I lost. Since you can't be my teacher, Yuya will now!"
"Wait what?" Yuya asked. I smiled.
"Looks like you've got a new fan!"
Later That Night
Sora had come over to Yuya's house for the night. Before he left I confronted him outside.
"Hey, Sora."
"Hey, Thomas."
"I have a question for you."
"What?"
"How did it feel to lose because of a piece of XYZ SCUM?"
"What? How do you-"
"I know more than you think. So tell your Academia friends that I'm coming for them."
"Are you from the xyz dimension?"
"Nope. I'm not from around here though, if you get what I mean. So, think about one thing. All I need to do is say the right words and you'll be sent right back home. So… try to be nice, okay?" I winked at him.
"I'll get you for this."
"I'm sure you will. And hey… congrats on being the first duelist in this dimension to actually damage me." Sora gulped and walked away.
As I published the new chapter of what had happened to me while I was here, I realized Yuto would be coming soon. 'Oh god, I hope I don't have counterparts. That would be some serious ARC-VOC bullsh-'
