Chapter 6: Thomas versus LDS

"You win again, Thomas." Sora said. I was at You Show, and while not being a student, I was saving my favorite fusion spy from overwhelming boredom by dueling on his desk, without the holograms. He seemed to have no hard feelings about me blackmailing him.
As Shuzo droned on about normal summoning, Yuzu raised her hand. "What about Xyz summoning?" She asked.
"Umm… I don't really know how to-"
"I can explain it!" I interrupted. To Xyz summon, you take two or more monsters, stack them on top of each other, place an Xyz monster with the same rank as the levels on top, and you can use the effects of Xyz monsters by detaching one of the stacked cards, or overlay units.
"Could you repeat that?"
I sighed. "You have the internet, use it." Yuzu pulled out the fan of doom. "I mean… I'd be happy to repeat that, delighted even!" I stuttered. Gongenzaka burst into the room, saving me from certain death.
"Everyone! I, the man Gongenzaka, saw three delinquents outside! When I confronted them, they said a man named Shingo and three of his friends were assaulted by Yuya and Thomas!"
Three people ran into the room. "Yeah! And there's a witness right in this room! Isn't that right, Yuzu?!"
"What… I- I…"
"Those thug's faces looked exactly like Yuya and Thomas's! Shingo and his friends could be in the last moments of their lives and-"
"Hold it right there! This makes no sense! If Shingo is dying, then if you're friends with him, why are you here trying to sue us instead of comforting him?! And also, if they were attacked in this city, I'm sure there were security cameras that were able to capture what really happened! And another thing-" I was interrupted by a stereotypical Karen walking into the room. With every step, she oozed an aura of "may I speak with your manager?"
"Excuse me. But I'll take it from here." Karen said.
"Look, Karen-"
"My name is not Karen! I am Himika, the chairwoman of LDS."
"Ok, sorry Karen."
"My name is not- never mind. Anyways, I think to make up for this grievous assault on Shingo and our school's reputation-"
"Let me guess… you want to buy our school."
"How did you know!?"
"It's not hard to figure out." And I know the plot.
"So, anyways, how about this. Three of our students versus three of yours. The school who wins the most duels is the winner. If you win, you can buy the school. If we win, you leave us alone."
"Deal! Now…"
I leaned over to Shuzo. "Is it too late to enroll?"
"You want to enroll?! I'm sure you'll show us a hot-blooded duel against LDS! Right this way!" He led me into a room with a mountain of paperwork. "Better get started!" Shuzo slammed the door.
"I guess I SHOULD get started."
3 Epic Duels Later
"And done." I said to myself as I finished the last form. I ran out just in time to see Gongenzaka tie with vampire kid. "Why do I even bother?" I moaned.
"So!" Karen said. "Since it was a tie, we get to buy your school!"
"Actually, no. If you have someone I could face, we could settle this."
"Thomas!" Yuya shouted. "Where were you?"
"Filling out paperwork." I said in the most dramatic voice possible. "I'm a student here now. And I'll face whoever Karen throws at me."
"And I believe that is me." Reiji, ankles shining in the sunlight, walked into the room. "I must say, I was looking forward to facing Yuya, but since you can pendulum summon, I'm sure you'll be an excellent opponent."
"Okay. But… I want to actually see your skills. So no action duel. Just a regular card game. Standing still. On. The. Ground. And I kind of suck at action duels, so…"
"Very well, then. We shall duel in You Show's dueling field. No action cards."
"Let's go." We walked into the court.
"Duel!"
Reiji: 4000
Thomas: 4000
"I'll go first! I set one monster and a card! That'll do it for my turn."
"My turn. Draw!" Reiji shouted. "I activate two copies of Dark Contract With The Gate! During my standby phase I take 1000 damage, but once per turn I can add one D/D monster from my deck to my hand! I add D/D Cerberus and D/D Lilith to my hand!"
"Why would he risk so much damage?" Yuzu asked.
"Because he probably has some way to get rid of them. Just watch." I answered.
"Now I activate Dark Contract With The Swamp King! I take an additional 1000 damage during my standby phase, but I can now perform a fusion summon! I fuse Cerberus and Lilith to fusion summon! Come forth! D/D/D Flame King Ghengis (LV 6. ATK 2000). Battle! Genghis attacks your face down!" Dragon Dowser (LV 4. DEF 1500)
"When Dowser is destroyed, I can summon one Earth pendulum monster from my deck in defense mode, but it is destroyed during the end phase! I summon Amorphage Goliath (LV 8. DEF 0. SC 5)." My massive gray dragon appeared and roared.
"I set two cards and end my turn." Reiji fin
"So Goliath is destroyed. My turn! Draw! I activate Pot Of Greed to draw two cards. Now I summon Amorphage Wrath!" A light grey dragon with a wolf's head on top of its dragon head appeared. It had a spike on its back, with a gem the same color as its scales at the end. (LV 4. ATK 1650. SC 3)
"Now I activate the trap Pendulum Reborn! This lets me summon back Goliath! (ATK 2750) I activate the field spell Amorphous Persona! Now all my Amorphages gain 300 attack and defense! Now I activate Amorphage Infection, so all my monster gain 100 attack and defense for each Amorphage I control!" Goliath (ATK 2750+600=3350) Wrath (ATK 1650+600=2250). "I set one card and battle! Wrath attacks Genghis!" Wrath bit Reiji's monster and Genghis exploded.
Reiji: 4000-250=3750
"Now Goliath attacks!"
Reiji: 3750-3350=400
"I've figured out your dueling style. You hold back and set up on the first turn so you can react to your opponent, then you strike for massive damage. Now that I know how you duel, I won't hold back! I activate the trap Contract Laundering! I destroy all my contracts, then draw a card and gain 1000 life for each card destroyed!"
"Oh no!" Tatsuya gasped.
"I thought he was gonna win for sure!" Ayu exclaimed.
Reiji: 400+3000=3400
Reiji drew until his hand had four cards. "My turn! Draw! Now… with the scale 1 D/D Savant Galilei and the scale 10 D/D Savant Kepler, I set the pendulum scale! Pendulum summon! Three copies of D/D/D Doom King Armageddon (LV 8. ATK 3000. SC 4)!"
Everyone watching gasped. Even I was pretty sure I was screwed.
"How can you pendulum summon?!" Yuya demanded.
"Yuya, did you seriously think no one would make more pendulum cards?" I asked.
"But… I…"
"Now, back to the duel." Reiji said. "Armageddon attacks your Goliath!"
"Why would you attack with a weaker monster?" I asked, not remembering Armageddon's effect.
Reiji: 3400-350=3050
"When a monster I control is destroyed, Armageddon gains attack equal to its attack." Armageddons (ATK 3000+3000=6000).
"Oh crap."
"Now, my first Armageddon attacks Wrath!"
"I activate the trap Amorphage Lysis! All your monsters lose 100 attack and defense for each Amorphage I control!"
Armageddons (ATK 6000-400=5600)
"And my monsters gain 100 attack with a new Amorphage card!"
Wrath (ATK 2250+100=2350) Goliath (ATK 3350+100=3450).
"My attack continues!"
Thomas: 4000-3250=750
I was blasted backwards and slammed into the fence. I fell face first onto the ground.
Goliath (ATK 3450-100=3350) Armageddons (ATK 5600+100=5700)
"Holy shit." I said, lifting my head off the ground.
"Now, Armageddon, attack!"
"What did you say?!" Karen asked as her butler whispered in her ear.
"Professor Marco was…" fusion girl said.
Reiji got a call on his duel disk. His eyes narrowed.
"I surrender. I'll give you the win." He said as he walked out.
"Wait! What's your name!?" Yuya asked.
"Reiji. Reiji Akaba." Reiji said as the door shut behind him.
I collapsed to my knees. "I wasn't strong enough." I muttered. "He crushed me with no effort… god dammit!" I screamed.
So, what did you think of the chapter? Sorry it took so long to update. But a duel of my third favorite rival versus my oc could not be rushed. See you guys in the next chapter. And after that… let's just say I have big plans coming in two chapters. Bwahahaha!
