Chapter 10:
The Resistance
"It was obviously a hallucination. You hit your head pretty hard…"
"No! No it wasn't! I know what I saw! That Judai kid summoned this thing called a link monster, you KNEW what it was, and you were talking about how you were from a different planet or something!" Yuzu screamed. I had been having this discussion for the past hour, and my trying to convince her it was a hallucination was going NOWHERE.
"Yeah, Yuzu. You were unconscious. Thomas has to carry you back." Yuya added.
"You WHAT!? How dare you touch a lady while she's unconscious!"
"Oh fine!" I snapped back. "Next time I'll leave you in the alley to die!"
"Yuzu, calm down. It was certainly a hallucination caused by your concussion. And stop being such a drama queen." Ethan said. He was from Earth, too, but he also wanted to cover it up until the end of the Maiami championship.
"Oh no you DIDN'T!" Yuzu shrieked, smacking Ethan with her fan of doom.
"Ow, hey!"
"Serves you right for insulting me."
"Yuzu," I said, "why can you never admit that you're wrong?" And ran out the door, with the fan in hot pursuit.
"Sun Dragon Inti attacks Aquaactress Arowana!"
Ayu: 700-1000=0
I was watching Ethan duel Ayu, having nothing better to do. Wait… the tournament! I totally forgot! Since Yuzu and Sora were off training, I might be able to find them and maybe duel Yuto or Shun. Or… my mysterious xyz counterpart. I ran down to the docks. I was done caring about the plot and how I would affect it.
Masumi was running towards the docks. This was her chance to catch the masked duelist that carded Professor Marco. As she ran, a figure stepped out of the shadows and stood in front of her.
"Get out of my way!" The person just stood there, then turned around. "Thomas?"
Masumi: 600-3400=0
The figure stepped forwards and readied his duel disk.
"No… please no." Judai pressed a button. A card floated to the ground.
I arrived at the docks just in time to see Sora having a duel disk lightsaber fight with Yuto. Weird. I got close enough to hear.
"I challenge you to a duel!" Sora shouted.
Yuto didn't respond, but pulled out his duel disk. If I was right Masumi should be coming any minute now… aaaaany minute now. Ok. This day just keeps getting weirder.
"Let's duel!" Sora exclaimed. Wait, what?
Sora: 4000
Yuto: 4000
I saw a person in the resistance outfit jump down from a building near Yuto. She had long blonde hair with cyan highlights, and was pretty tall. Also, she had my face.
"You!" Yuzu shouted.
"Me!" The member exclaimed.
"You're the one who defeated Shingo's goons! I challenge you to a duel!"
"Why?"
"Because I know you two," she pointed at Yuto and the other person, "are behind all of the weird stuff that's been happening!"
"Fine. I'm Lyla, by the way."
"I'm Yuzu. Let's duel!"
Lyla: 4000
Yuzu: 4000
"I'll go first! I activate 1st Movement Solo to summon Aria, The Melodious Diva (LV 4. ATK 1600) from my deck!" A pink skinned singer with a harp on her back appeared. "Now I special summon Canon, The Melodious Diva (LV 4. ATK 1400) from my hand since I control a melodious monster! Now I tribute both of them to tribute summon Mozarta The Melodious Maestra (LV 8. ATK 2600)! Now, I use her effect to summon Shopina, The Melodious Maestra (LV 7. ATK 2300)! Next, I use Shopina's effect to add Aria back to my hand. I set a card and end my turn."
"Nice move. My turn. Draw!"
Sora: 4000
Yuto: 4000
"I activate Polymerization to fuse Fluffal Bear and Edge Imp Sabres to fusion summon Frightfur Bear (LV 6. ATK 2200)! I set a card and end my turn!" Sora's signature FNAF rip-off appeared on the field.
"My turn!" Yuto responded. "I summon The Phantom Knights Of Ragged Gloves (LV 3. ATK 1000). Now, I special summon The Phantom Knights Of Silent Boots (LV 3. ATK 200) from my hand. Now, I overlay these two monsters to xyz summon! Come forth, The Phantom Knights Of Break Sword (RNK 3. ATK 2000)!" A ghostly knight made of blue flame riding a skeletal horse appeared.
"Now, since Ragged Gloves was used for its summon, Break Sword gains 1000 attack!"
(2000+1000=3000)
"Now, attack Frightfur Bear!"
"Gah!"
Sora: 4000-800=3200
"I set two cards and end my turn."
Yuzu: 4000
Lyla: 4000
"My turn! Draw! I activate Terraforming to add Generaider Boss Stage from my deck to my hand! Then I activate it! Next, I use World Legacy Monstrosity to summon Mardel, Generaider Boss Of Light (LV 9. ATK 2400)! Then, her effect adds Loptr, Shadow Of The Generaider Bosses (LV 4. ATK 1500) from my deck to my hand, who I'll now normal summon. Next, I use his effect to tribute him and summon Naglfar, Generaider Boss Of Fire (LV 9. ATK 3100) from my deck. Now, Naglfar attacks Mozarta!" Lyla's demon fire pig roared as it crawled out of the ground.
Yuzu: 4000-500=3500
"Next, Mardel attacks Shopina!"
Yuzu: 3500-100=3400
"I set two cards and end my turn."
Sora: 3200
Yuto: 4000
"You bastard… you'll pay for that. I draw! I use Frightfur Patchwork to add Edge Imp Saw and Polymerization from my deck to my hand. Now, I use Polymerization to fuse Edge Imp Saw and Fluffal Leo to fusion summon Frightfur Leo (LV 7. ATK 2400)!" Leo was a stuffed lion with saws all over its body.
"Next, I'll use his effect to destroy Break Sword and deal 2000 damage to you!"
Yuto: 4000-2000=2000
"When Break Sword is destroyed, his overlay units are summoned back and their levels increase by one!"
(Ragged Gloves LV 3+1=4. DEF 500)
(Silent Boots LV 3+1=4. DEF 1200)
"Now, Leo attacks Ragged Gloves! I end my turn."
"My turn! I summon The Phantom Knights Of Cloven Helm (LV 4. ATK 1500)! Now, I overlay it with Silent Boots to xyz summon! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (RNK 4. ATK 2500)!" Yuto's FREAKING BADASS dragon gave a mighty roar. Every pore of its amazing body oozed awesomeness. You might be able to tell it was my favorite Yu-boy dragon.
"Now, with my dragon's ability, I detach two overlay units to halve Leo's attack twice and add the lost amount to its attack! It's over! Treason discharge!"
"Not so fast! I'll activate Frightfur March! Since an effect would target Leo, I negate and destroy it!"
"I activate Phantom Knights' Wing! Dark Rebellion gains 500 attack and is not destroyed the first time it would be destroyed each turn!"
(Dark Rebellion: ATK 2500+500=3000)
"Now, attack!"
Sora: 3200-600=2600
Yuzu: 3400
Lyla: 4000
I was pretty worried about Yuzu. Generaider was a pretty powerful deck, and my mysterious counterpart seemed pretty dangerous.
"My turn! I draw!"
"Since you drew, Generaider Boss Stage's effect activates, summoning Frodi, Generaider Boss Of Swords (LV 9. DEF 2000) from my deck and giving me two Generaider Tokens (LV 4. ATK 1500)
"I activate Polymerization to fuse Aria The Melodious Diva and Sonata The Melodious Diva to fusion summon!"
"Error."
"Wait, did I forget to put Schuberta in my extra deck again?"
Lyla giggled a bit.
"Umm, here we go!" Yuzu put the card in her extra deck. "Come forth, Schuberta, The Melodious Maestra (LV 6. ATK 2400)!" Schuberta was a singer in a massive dress with a baton in her hand.
"I activate Frodi's effect, tributing a token to destroy Schuberta!"
"I activate my trap, Melodious Illusion, which protects Schuberta from being destroyed by card effects and lets her attack twice this turn! But first, with her effect, I banish Loptr, Monstrosity, and Terraforming from your graveyard and have her gain 600 attack!"
(Schuberta: ATK 2400+600=3000)
"Now, attack her Mardel and Token!"
Lyla: 4000-1500-600=1900
"I end my turn."
Sora: 2600
Yuto: 2000
"I end my turn."
"My turn, draw! I summon Fluffal Owl (LV 2. ATK 1000), and use its effect to add Polymerization from my deck to my hand. Then, I'll use it's second effect to pay 500 life and fusion summon using monsters from my hand and field. I fuse my Owl and Edge Imp Tomahawk (LV 4. ATK 1800) to fusion summon Frightfur Daredevil (LV 8. ATK 3000)!" Daredevil was a giant demonic baby in a diaper holding a pitchfork. Never thought I'd say that.
"Now, attack Dark Rebellion!"
"But only Daredevil will be destroyed!"
"When Daredevil is destroyed, I inflict 500 damage to you for every Frightfur monster in my graveyard!"
Yuto: 2000-1500=500
"I activate Monster Reborn to bring back Daredevil and end my turn."
"My turn! I activate The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up Magic Launch to rank up my Dark Rebellion into Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon (RNK 5. ATK 3000)!" Dark Rebellion flew into a portal, and out came the best boi. It's beautiful stained glass wings reflected the light, and it was awesome. Lightning crackled around its dragon shaped black lump of awesome. #bestxyz.
"Next, I use its effect by detaching Dark Rebellion to change Daredevil's attack to zero and raise Dark Requiem's by the amount lost!"
(Daredevil: ATK 3000-3000=0)
(Dark Requiem: ATK 3000+3000=6000)
"Now, finish him!"
Sora: 2600-6000=0
Oof. Sora flew back a few yards, and slammed into the ground.
"Noooooooo! How could I lose to xyz scum like you?!"
Yuto raised his duel disk…
Yuzu: 3400
Lyla: 1900
"My turn! I draw! I change Frodi to attack position! Now, Naglfar attacks Schuberta!"
"I activate the effect of Score, The Melodious Diva (LV 2. ATK 200)!"
"What?!"
"By discarding her, when a Melodious monster battles, the opposing monster's attack becomes zero! Strike back, Schuberta!"
(Naglfar ATK 3100-3100=0)
"I activate my trap! Wonder Xyz! This lets me xyz summon during your turn! I use Frodi and Naglfar to xyz summon Jormungandr, Generaider Boss Of Eternity (RNK 9. ATK 0)! Then Jormungandr gains 1000 attack for each overlay unit it has! Now, by detaching an overlay unit, we each draw a card, and attach 1 card in our hand or field to Jormungandr! I attack the card I drew!"
"So do I."
"Now, since you drew, Boss Stage activates, letting me summon Hela, Generaider Boss Of Doom (LV 9. DEF 2800)! Now, I activate the trap Generaider Boss Bite, which lets me tribute Hela and attach a Generaider besides Hela from my hand, field, or graveyard to Jormungandr! I attach Naglfar!"

"Jormungandr attacks Schuberta!"
Yuzu: 3400-1000=2400
"I end my turn."
"My… turn! I draw! I activate Ostinato, fusion summon a Melodious fusion monster using monsters from my hand or deck! I use a second Shopina and Canon in my deck to fusion summon Bloom Diva The Melodious Choir (LV 6. ATK 1000)! Now, attack Jormungandr!"
"Why?"
"Because of Choir's effect! When she battles a special summoned monster, she destroys that monster and inflicts the difference between their attack in damage to you! I win!"
Lyla: 1900-3000=0
"Now, tell me what's going on!"
"Ok, fine. So, there are four dimensions. Me and my comrades are from the xyz dimension. The fusion dimension attacked us and took over. We travelled to standard to find allies who could help us fight back. But my boyfriend Shun went a little nuts after his sister got kidnapped and now roams the city turning people into trading cards. Happy?"
"Umm, what?!"
I saw Yuto about to card Sora and jumped in. I didn't like the midget but his Frightfurs were cool so I decided to save his life.
"Hey, stop! Leave Sora alone!"
"Who are you, and why do you think you can stop me from carding this fusion bastard?!"
"I'm Thomas, and that fusion bastard is kinda sorta my friend."
"Hmph." A voice from on top of a building said. "Another fusion scum." Shun leaped down. "I'll beat you into the ground myself." Oh great. Shun was watching the entire time and I just provoked him. What have I done?!
Ethan drove through the city on his d-wheel, looking for Thomas.
"Knowing him," he muttered, "he probably went looking for the plot. To the docks!" As he drove through an alleyway, he saw a cloaked figure card some girl. "Ok, maybe a slight detour! Hey you!"
"Yes?"
"You're from the fusion dimension, right? I challenge you to a duel!"
The figure turned around.
"Wait." Ethan said. "Why do you look like me?"
"Who cares? I'll beat you and make you grovel at my feet! Duel! Ahahahaha!"
Yay, I finished a chapter! This is, in my opinion, the longest and also the best chapter yet. Two full duels and an offscreen win for Judai, which also furthered my quest to kill off all of the LDS trio cause they're useless and I hate them. I hope you liked the duel outcomes, I had fun writing them. I wanted to give Yuzu a win since it wasn't a life or death duel and she quickly became a plot device. I'll try to stop that from happening in this story. Now… coming soon to a theater near you:

United:
Shun pushes Thomas to his absolute limits, while Lyla explains everything that's going on to Yuzu. Meanwhile, Thomas and Judai trade blows and discover more about why they were sent to this world.
