4 - ADRIAN

After Alberta dismisses us, the students get up from their seats and leave the room to either browse through the information they received or to talk to their assigned Moroi or guardian.

I quickly take a look around the room and find Rose talking to Mia and Mason. It's my chance. She's distracted. The perfect moment to leave without anyone noticing. There is a high possibility she might kill me. Rose tends to beat someone first and ask essential questions later.

I carefully sneak out of the room but am pulled to the side and shoved into a wall as soon as I walk through the double doors. She wasn't as distracted as I thought.

"What have I done to be deserving of your precious presence, little Dhampir? I question with a lazy smile.

"Do you have anything to do with this, Ivashkov?" she challenges me, a dangerous tone in her voice. I gulp.

"And here I hoped you wanted to talk to me because you prefer to spend your time with me. It throbs right here," I respond, feigning hurt. "As a matter of fact, no. No, I don't have anything to do with it."

"Whose fault is it then because you sure as hell didn't seem surprised!" she interrogates grabbing me by the collar of my shirt.

"Calm down, little Dhampir, will you? I assume that my aunt arranged for you to be assigned to me since she was fairly insistent I participate," I reveal to her, moving her hands away from my collar and holding them in mine. "I am as surprised as you are. But to be frank, I am more than happy that you get to follow me around for six weeks.. little Dhampir. It's going to be fun." I wink at her.

She scoffs and pulls her hands away from me, my hands falling to my sides. "Adrian, you don't get it, do you? I was supposed to be assigned to Lissa! I can't spend six weeks in a room with you," she shout-whispers.

I sigh and smirk at her. "Why? Is it because you won't be able to keep your hands off of me? Admit it. You can't get enough of me."

If you know Rose, then you also know that provoking her isn't the best of ideas.
