Marinette was the first one to wake up that morning. She just laid there thinking about what happened between her and Adrien yesterday. She still could not believe that Adrien was Chat Noir and Chat Noir was Adrien. She was busy In her thoughts when she felt someone shift beside her. She turned her head to see that Adrien was sleeping beside her with his arms around her and that they were in Alison's room. Then she remembered what happened through the night with Alison. Marinette moved out of Adrien's grip and got out of bed. She then went back to her room to have a shower and get herself ready for the day. Once she was ready, she went downstairs where she saw Natalie. "Good morning Natalie." Marinette greeted. "Good Morning Marinette. Is there something I can help you with?" Natalie asked as she looked up from her tablet. "Yes. I was wondering if I could speak to Mr Agreste?" Marinette asked Natalie. "He is very busy at the moment," Natalie said. "Yes, I know he is busy. But what I need to talk to him about is urgent." Marinette told Natalie. "Very well then if you must. Follow me if you please." Natalie said gesturing for Marinette to follow her to Gabriel's office.
Half an hour after Marinette had gone downstairs Adrien had woken up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He was thinking about yesterday and how he found out his M'Lady was Marinette and that Marinette was his M'Lady. Then he realised that he was in his daughter's room and he remembered what happened through the night that had caused him to sleep in here. Adrien left his daughter asleep in her bed as he made his way out of her room and over to Marinette's room thinking that maybe she was in their getting ready since she was up first. He knocked on the door but there was no answer so, he opened her door and pecked inside the room only to find her Kwami sitting on Marinette's bed. "Morning Adrien." Tikki greeted. "Morning Tikki, have you seen Marinette?" He asked Tikki. "She was in here a while ago then she left saying something about going to talk to your Father about something," Tikki explained. "My Father?"
"Yes," Tikki replied. "Thanks, Tikki," Adrien said as he was about to walk out the door and head to his Father's office. "Adrien…" Adrien turned to face Tikki. "I think you should let her talk to your father alone. She may have a way to get through to him." Tikki said. Adrien nodded then went to his room. "Plagg are you here?" Adrien called out to his Kwami after he had walked into his room but Plagg did not answer him. "Where is that damn cat." Adrien wondered as he grabbed his clothes for the day.
Natalie and Marinette had arrived at Gabriel's office and Natalie knocked on the door. "Come in." A voice said from the other side of the door. Natalie opened the door and gestured for Marinette to enter. "Sir Marinette is here to speak to you," Natalie stated. Gabriel looked up from his work and looked over at Marinette. "Thank you, Natalie. You may go now." Gabriel said. Natalie gave a slight nod and walked to the door. "Natalie could please ring up the school and let them know that Adrien and I will not be in today and could you also ring the Kindy and tell them that Alison is staying home today," Marinette told Natalie. "Very well then." She said before she closed the door behind her on the way out. "Good Morning Mr Agreste." Marinette greeted. "Good Morning Marinette. Now you wanted to speak to me." Gabriel said pointing to the chair in front of his desk. Marinette walked over to the chair and sat down. "Yes. I would like to talk to about something." Marinette said. "Very well then. But first, may I ask why you and Adrien are not going to school today and why is the child staying home as well?" He asked her. "Well after what happened through the night with Ali, Adrien and I thought it was best to keep her at home today and for why we are not going to school and that is because Adrien said we should go back to the Orphanage that Ali is from and Ask Nana Sue some questions about Ali's past," Marinette explained. "And what does this have to do with this talk with me about," Gabriel asked. "Well while Adrien and I are out we are going to need someone to look after Ali for a few hours and I was wondering if you would be able to?" She asked him. "No. I am far to busy to babysit a child that I have nothing to do with." Demanded Gabriel. "I understand sir, but you are Alison Grandfather and she is going to need you in her life."
"I don't have the time to be a Grandfather to anyone," Gabriel stated. "Just like you don't have time to be a Father?" Marinette asked. "How dare you talk to me like that," Gabriel yelled which Marinette didn't flinch out. "How dare me. I saw two nights ago how you acted towards Alison when we first arrived here." Marinette starts to say. "Mr Agreste I am grateful for what you have done for Ali and I. letting us stay here for protection with everything that is going on. But if you cannot be a Grandfather to Alison then that is. I will just give her to my parents whenever Adrien and I need to do things and you won't have any contact with her at all." Marinette stated. Gabriel shocked to hear something like from someone that wasn't his past wife or even Natalie. His respect for this young woman grew more and more. He knew she was right about what she said, and he heard his own son say it last night.
He felt a shame that it had taken to young adults to point it out to him. "Mr Agreste all Adrien wants to know if you care and love and is same with Alison. Now if you don't mind, I better go and wake my daughter to get her ready and take her to my parents before Adrien and go to the Orphanage." Marinette said as she stood up from her seat and started to walk to the door. "Wait…" Gabriel called out to her. Marinette stopped at the door and turned around to face Gabriel. "You are right. I wasn't nice to Alison when I first met her and for that I am sorry. I don't want you to cut her out of my life she is starting to grow on me. But you are also right about Adrien and how I have treated him in the past. I heard you guys talking last night after I left Alison's room. I know what he thinks of me and I…" Gabriel started to say then he went quiet. "It is not too late to start now Mr Agreste." She said. "I know what it is like to bury yourself in your designs after you have lost someone." She added. "How did you get over it?" He asked her. "You don't I just surrounded myself with my family and friends which stopped me from isolating myself in my room." She said. Gabriel just nodded and stood up then walked towards Marinette. "I think it is time I talk to Adrien now." He said then gestured for Marinette to start walking as he followed on. "Is Alison still sleeping?" Gabriel asked as they walked up the stairs to Adrien's room. "Don't wake her up. She will be fine here, and I will spend some time with her." Gabriel said to Marinette. Marinette had a smile on her face when she was told that. "I am sorry for yelling at you before Mr Agreste," Marinette said. "Don't worry about it Marinette. I obviously needed to hear what you said, and it opened my eyes to how I have been acting towards Alison and Adrien." He said. The two off them walked to Alison's room to check on her before they walked the rest of the way to Adrien's room. "Adrien" Marinette called as she and Gabriel walked into his room. "Coming. How did the talk with my…" Adrien said as he came round the corner and stopped short when he saw his Father standing there beside Marinette. "Morning Adrien. I will go and finish getting ready why you two talk." Marinette said to Adrien and Gabriel before she walked back to her room.
"Morning Father," Adrien said to his Father. "Morning Adrien. I was wondering if we could talk." His father asked him. "Yeah sure," Adrien said as he walked over to his couch. "So, what was the talk with Marinette about?" he asked his father. "She was wanting to know if I could look after your daughter for a few hours while the two of you got to the Orphanage to speak to someone named Nana Sue."
"Let me guess your answer was no and Marinette didn't take it that well?" Adrien asked. "Well yes, she didn't like that, but she also told me off for how I acted towards Alison on her first night here and how I have been acting towards you over these past years and for that I am sorry Adrien," Gabriel explained to his son. Adrien was shocked to hear his Father apologize. He has never heard his Father apologize to anyone before. "Father I… I…" Adrien started but couldn't find the words to get out. "I know I have been hard on you over the years but that is because I care about you Adrien and I wanted you to do well in life." He said. "I understand Father really I do. And thank you for everything that you have done for me." Adrien said. Adrien was surprised when his father leaned over to give him a hug when he got over his surprised, he hugged his father back. They have pulled apart when they heard Natalie say that the car was ready for him and Marinette. "Now why don't we go and find Marinette so you two can go and find out about Alison's past," Gabriel said as they both stood up and walked out into the hallway where they met up with Marinette. "What time would you like her to wake up?" Gabriel asked Marinette. "I have just checked on her and she is still sound asleep so, I say let her sleep-in till about 8:30 am. But she could wake up earlier." Marinette stated. "Very well then. Be careful both of you." He said to Adrien and Marinette. "Thank you, Mr Agreste," Marinette said thanking Gabriel. "I should be thanking you Marinette and please I think you have earned to call me Gabriel," Gabriel said with a small smile on his face. "We should be only a couple of hours, but I went let you know if we are going to be longer," Adrien told his Father as he took Marinette's hand and pulled her towards the stairs to go down to the car. One their way to the car Marinette's phone went off. "That is probably Alya wondering where we are," Marinette told Adrien.
Ay: Girl where are you and Adrien?
Ma: We decided to stay home today.
Ay: Why? Did something happen?
Ma: Yea. Ali woke up with another nightmare last night which kept us up quite late. Adrien and I are now off to the Orphanage to go and speak to Nana Sue.
Ay: Aww poor Ali. Hope everything goes well for the two of you at the Orphanage. Keep me, updated girl
Ma: Thanks, Alya and sure will.
"Was it Alya?" Adrien asked as they hopped into the car. "Yea it was. She wants me to keep her updated with what we find out for Sue." Marinette said. "Marinette I just want to say thank you for whatever you said to my Father. I don't know what you said to him but thank you." Adrien said so sincerely. "You don't have to thank me, Adrien. I just told him what he needed to hear." She said. "You are amazing you know that right," Adrien said as he leaned in to kiss
