Hello wonderful readers, firstly I'd like to apologise for it being so long between stories, that & I've been dealing with some family stuff...

So yeah.

Anyway enough of the doom & gloom, here's something I've been working on for the last week or so & It's finally done, as to those readers asking if there might be sequels to Wings & Stakeout, there just *might* be at some point, but what with Season 5 of Lucifer just being released (Yes i binge-watched all eight episodes in one hit) there's a few ideas rattling round in my brain that I'm eager to write. Please review & tell me what you think of this fluff fest, it's a little different to my usual Deckerstar Smutfest but i just wanted to write Lucifer & Chloe in a different way.

Movie Night.

It was Trixie's idea.

It had been a long week at work for Chloe & Lucifer, even Lucifer had lost his cheeky, passionate zest for life by the end of the week & had taken to scowling at the ever-increasing pile of case files on Chloe's desk. As they slowly worked through the files Chloe would check over Lucifer's work, ignoring the small flare of jealousy over Lucifer's elegant cursive, Chloe read through the reports, Lucifer had filled in everything correctly. Chloe was slightly stunned, it wasn't as if Lucifer couldn't be serious, he just couldn't help himself sometimes, Lucifer watched her read through everything he'd done, a slightly nervous look on his face, his dark eyes were serious. "Good job, Lucifer" Chloe nodded as she set the reports down on the side of her desk, Lucifer gave her a soft, grateful smile as he sneaked his hand under her desk & gently squeezed her fingers, Chloe blushed as she shot a nervous look around at the other Officers working around them, although it was pretty much common knowledge that she & Lucifer were together (much to the delight of Trixie, Ella & Amenadiel) they tried not to flaunt it too much. Yet it was obvious in their body language just how close they'd become, a rookie had made the mistake of flirting with her his first day, he wasn't a bad looking guy, well built, charming smile. He had perched easily on the corner of her desk as he introduced himself, Chloe politely answered his questions as she pushed her chair further away from him, Lucifer had, at that moment decided to arrive, his gaze as always seeking her out before anything else.

When Lucifer saw the rookie perched on the edge of her desk, his cheerful demeanour had vanished as his eyes flared crimson, Chloe watched as Lucifer's body language shifted, it was a subtle shift, but it was there. Lucifer easily crossed the space from the elevator to Chloe's desk, completely ignoring the rookie, he removed his jacket, hung it on the back of her chair & gracefully bent down & quickly kissed her cheek as one of his hands came to rest on her shoulder, there was nothing possessive about the move, yet the rookie's face had flushed as he muttered a hasty apology & retreated. Out the corner of her eye, Chloe had seen Dan's shoulders shaking with mirth as he watched her, over the last few months Dan had begun to warm to Lucifer again although when he had first found out about her & Lucifer he hadn't reacted well, it had been an accident that Dan had seen Lucifer's Wings when he had turned up early to pick Trixie up. The shock on his face would've been funny had he not almost keeled over in the doorway to her Apartment, Lucifer had hurriedly retracted his Wings & firmly but gently had led Dan over to Chloe's couch whilst he quietly told Chloe to call Amenadiel & Linda. Dan had sat, eyes fixed on Lucifer in a sort of horrified disbelief as Lucifer slid his shirt back on, Trixie had watched as she packed her art supplies away with a guilty look on her face, she had asked Lucifer if she could see his Wings so that she could draw them & he had obliged, Chloe had thought that with Dan not turning up until the afternoon, that it was safe. When Amenadiel & Linda had arrived with baby Charlie in tow, Dan had flinched as they sat down next to him, Lucifer had sat at the island as Dan questioned Amenadiel, he had gotten angry at first, then when Amenadiel had spoken of Charlotte in the Silver City, there had been tears.

Finally, there had been acceptance, Linda had kept Dan calm the entire time, a steady, reassuring presence as she spoke constantly reminding him that he wasn't insane & that there was nothing he could've done, at some point Lucifer had ordered from Junior's & everyone had gratefully tucked into the food. After the meal, Chloe had pulled Dan aside & apologised to him, he had understood that it hadn't been her secret to tell & after all who would've believed her, on his way out, he had hugged Amenadiel & Linda before stopping in front of Lucifer. After several moments, Dan had extended his hand & he & Lucifer had shook, after that, Lucifer had stopped calling Dan "Detective Douche" whilst they didn't have the same level of friendship as Dan had with Amenadiel, there was a sort of unspoken respect between them now. It made things much smoother between the three of them when Dan came to pick up Trixie, Dan had even relented & allowed Lucifer to look after Trixie if the both of them had to work, Trixie was ecstatic about getting to spend more time with Lucifer (If Maze wasn't Bounty Hunting she'd look after Trixie, however if there was a Case that required Chloe, Lucifer & Dan, Linda had generously agreed to watch Trixie for the evening.

It was an unconventional Family, but it worked, Chloe & Dan could relax knowing that Trixie was safe & that in turn allowed them to focus on work, Family Dinners became a regular thing with Lucifer insisting on doing the cooking, Trixie would be glued to his side throughout as Chloe, Dan, Linda & Amenadiel relaxed with glasses of wine, more often than not, Ella joined in as part of the extended Family. Chloe had several folders full of photos she had taken from those nights. As Chloe came back to the present, she couldn't help but think of the knock-on effect that this new dynamic had on the other Officers within the Precinct, whilst it was still a hard job to do, there was hardly any tension at all now, Lucifer was accepted & Respected, there were always a few dozen bags of Cool Ranch Puffs in the kitchen & Dan's puddings stopped vanishing.

Mostly.

Chloe closed the last file with a sigh, both her & Lucifer were exhausted but all of the paperwork had been done, no new cases had popped up so they were both free to go, Lucifer walked her out to her car & kissed her before pulling her into a hug, the height difference meant that he could rest his chin on the top of her head, for some reason Lucifer found this soothing, Chloe had asked him about it & he had said that it calmed him, that the feel of her in his arms was a constant reminder that this was real. It was both, achingly sad & unbearably sweet. As Dan wasn't due to pick Trixie up until the next day, Trixie had shyly asked Lucifer if he wanted to come over for a movie night, he had accepted. Lucifer had left her then, to return to Lux & make sure everything was in order before showering & changing his clothes (Chloe had rolled her eyes at that, she'd seen Lucifer's closet & her entire apartment could easily fit in there) When Chloe got home, Trixie was sat on the sofa with Linda listening as Linda read from Harry Potter, Amenadiel was in one of the armchairs, seemingly asleep but having seen Lucifer do the same thing only to react at the first sign of trouble Chloe knew otherwise, not wanting to disturb them or risk waking up Charlie, Chloe waved at them before heading upstairs to take a shower of her own. After a quick shower, Chloe slid on one of Lucifer's shirts she'd "borrowed" & a pair of shorts, Chloe quickly towel dried her hair then padded back downstairs, she did wonder about cooking something but Lucifer had assured her that he'd grab food on his way over "Hey Monkey" Chloe called & Trixie shot over to her, Amenadiel chuckled as he watched the two embrace, he then winced as Charlie reached up & not so gently tugged on the short hairs of his beard. After saying goodbye to Amenadiel, Linda & Charlie, Chloe sent Trixie to go get washed up more than likely she would end up falling asleep before the movie even finished.

Roughly an hour later there was a knock on the door, smiling Chloe got up from the sofa & went to open it, when she did, she had to do a double take at what she saw; Instead of his usual immaculate three-piece suit, Lucifer was wearing dark coloured boots, black jeans, a LUX t-shirt & a black leather jacket, Chloe gaped at him trying not to focus too much on the way the denim clung to his legs. When Chloe eventually brought her eyes back up to Lucifer's face, she blushed at the predatory smirk he wore, eyes gleaming he stepped forward only to be met with the cry of "Lucifer!" as Trixie hurtled past her & threw her arms around Lucifer's waist, he staggered back a step only just managing to keep hold of the bag of food he had in his hand. "Urchin" Lucifer replied, Chloe rolled her eyes at him, for someone who viewed children as "terrible, taxing burdens" Lucifer really had a knack with Trixie & now Charlie, grinning, Trixie released Lucifer & allowed him to come inside, Chloe motioned to his outfit "That's new" she said as she took the food, "Yes well I thought that it was time to branch out a bit into Merchandise, quite a profitable business venture actually" Lucifer replied as he shrugged his jacket off & hung it up.

Chloe just shook her head as she walked into the kitchen to grab plates & cutlery, "Spawn" Lucifer called as he joined Chloe & reached into one of the bags "This is for you" Trixie threw herself at Lucifer again as he gave her a slice of Chocolate Cake in a plastic container, Lucifer ruffled Trixie's hair affectionately as she ran into her bedroom to stash her prize away for later "Not before Dinner Trixie!" Chloe called as she tried to keep from laughing at what was in the bag- Burgers & Fries, it had become a theme with them. Glancing over his shoulder, Lucifer pulled her into his side & leaned down to kiss her, Chloe sighed as she melted into his arms. Lucifer reluctantly pulled back after a few moments, with Trixie in the house they couldn't take things further than a few kisses, he smiled softly at her as he helped her to serve up the food, Dinner was an entertaining event with Trixie telling Lucifer everything she had done at school & asking him if he could help her with her History report later in the week, it was sort of cheating given that Lucifer had been around back then but Chloe couldn't actually forbid her from asking Lucifer about the subject, the only thing she could do was ask Lucifer to filter out the bloodier parts, which he did at her request. Once Dinner was over Lucifer helped clear everything away, he accepted the glass of Wine Chloe held out to him as they made their way over to the couch, Lucifer rolled his eyes when he saw which movie Trixie had picked but didn't say anything, as Trixie grabbed the remote to start the film, Lucifer sat down next to Chloe, taking a sip of his Wine, Lucifer placed the glass on the table next to the sofa as he lifted his arm over her shoulders, blushing Chloe snuggled into his side as Trixie cuddled into her.

Halfway through Hercules, Chloe heard a soft sound come from Lucifer, glancing over she felt her heart squeeze at what she saw; Lucifer was fast asleep with his head on her shoulder, his dark hair falling out of his usual smoothed back style, to lie in little curls against his forehead, his lashes fluttered as he slept & she had to stop herself from giggling as she felt them tickle her jaw. Carefully so as to not wake Lucifer, she motioned to Trixie to switch the movie off & that it was time for bed, Trixie pouted at not being able to hug Lucifer but otherwise went without protest after hugging her. Chloe had switched most of the main lights off before they had sat down to watch the movie, so only one of the lamps in the living room was lit, casting the area in a warm glow, unsure as to what to do next, Chloe almost screamed in fright when Trixie reappeared with a thick blanket in her little hands. Giving her a cheeky grin, Trixie handed her the blanket before tiptoeing back to her room & shutting the door, slowly, Chloe helped Lucifer lie down fully on the couch, with a careful wiggle, she slid down so that Lucifer was resting on her chest, he murmured her name as she moved him, but otherwise didn't wake. It was rare that Lucifer let his guard down, he was still so worried that she would abandon him, like this, all of the tension was no longer present on his face, he was completely relaxed. With one hand, Chloe managed to tuck the blanket over the both of them as she laced her fingers with Lucifer's, she really couldn't imagine her life without him in it, he brought so much life to her life even though at times she honestly wanted to throttle him, he was getting there though, after everything they had been through, they were together & Chloe would be dammed if she let anyone or anything take Lucifer away from her.
