Out in the ocean, Machia's ship moves along in the sky as dark clouds emit lightning. "Destination dead ahead." Machia said.
"Excellent, Supreme Commander Machia." Krux replied. "The final Time Blade will soon be ours."
"Unless this is all a Ninja trick to trap us in the middle of nowhere."
"It has best not be." Acronix said. "For his sake."
"Ugh, we can't do this." Kai said. "We can't let Krux and Acronix force us into getting the last Time Blade for them."
"Its reversal power is the only way to undo the effects of the Time Punch on Master Wu and Master Sanders." Nya replied. "What other choice do we have?"
"Time is short and our friends' survival, Dragon and Tania's survival, is at stake." Ray said, placing a hand on Kai's shoulder.
"Your father's right." Maya replied. "Focus on the task at hand. Retrieving the Time Blade will be more dangerous than you can possibly imagine."
A bolt of lightning emits, shaking the ship, causing them to gasp. "I don't get it." Kai said. "Why did you put the Time Blade way out here?"
"It was so powerful that Dragon knew it had to be hidden somewhere safe." Ray replied. "So he asked us to seal it in the ancient Library of Honomizu."
"Hono-what now?" Nya asked.
"Honomizu was once a thriving port town that was consumed by an undersea volcano that buried the city leagues below an impossibly harsh environment." Ray explained. "A combination of fire and water..." Another bolt of lightning emits. "The Boiling Sea." They look down to see there was fire above and underwater and the water was boiling.
At the Temple of Airjitzu, in the study room, Tania, hair completely white and face wrinkled, is lying in a chair and breathing heavily as Misako places a damp cloth on her sweaty forehead. "Hang on, Tania." She said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "They'll find a way to reverse it."
In the swamp, Jay and Gewuji see another Vermillion Warrior hatch out of an egg. "Ew." Jay said. "No matter how many times you see it, watching those suckers hatch is gross."
"Jay, Gewuji, less watching, more helping!" Lloyd yelled out to them as he and the others ran before they too joined as some warriors chase after them.
"You know, guys, I was thinking that we got Ninjago's workers out of here, maybe we should join them." Gewuji said.
"What about Master Wu?" Zane and Geoff kick back a warrior each.
"He's gone." Maggie said, elbowing a warrior that was about to come at her.
"Besides, it's a strategic retreat." Jay said.
"'Strategic retreat' is just a fancy way of saying 'giving up'." Cole replied as a warrior jumped onto him before he throws it over him.
"What do you think, Lloyd? You're the Master-in-Training here."
"We need to regroup at the temple." Lloyd said as they immediately head for the entrance. "Zane, cover ice." Zane held his hand out and fired Ice all over the entrance, covering it.
With no way to get through, Raggmunk turned to some nearby tanks. "Tank squadron, report." He said. Nearby catapults immediately fire rocks at the ice.
By the other side, the first rock creates a crack. "Quick! Before they get through!" They soon take off.
Zane soon stopped. "One moment." He said. "I'm getting a signal."
"Oh, yeah?" Gewuji asked. "Does it sound anything like this? 'Move your ass, Zane!'"
"Cyrus Borg. And Blake. I must retrieve them." Zane prepares to head back.
"Wait!" Geoff yelled.
"You're totally outnumbered." Cole said.
"He's right." Maggie replied as the cracks were getting worse from rocks hitting it. "There's, like, a million more Vermillion out there."
"There's no way you could possibly save him all by yourself." Jay said, heading over to him. "So I'm coming with you."
"Count me in." Geoff replied, coming up to them.
"And me." Gewuji said.
"Me too." Maggie said.
They see Lloyd and Cole look at them. "What?" Jay asked. "We're Ninja. Saving people is, you know, what we do."
"Yes, we do." Lloyd replied. The ice soon breaks apart. "Take cover!"
The moment the ice broke apart and its dust faded away, Blunck and Raggmunk lead some warriors to look around. "Where are they?" Raggmunk asked before putting a hand near his head. "Vermillion, check the tunnel." A couple of warriors head into the tunnel.
"Any sign of escape?" Blunck asked. They only find the inactive Destiny's Shadow and point to it. "Do you know what this means?"
"The Ninja have been eliminated."
They immediately give each other a high five. "Victory!" The both said before laughing and stopped.
"Or they found another exit."
"Either way, they're gone." Blunck said. "There's work to be done." He soon placed a hand near his head. "All Vermillion stand down. Return to the Dome immediately." They start walking away and Raggmunk scoffs.
"We are so getting a promotion."
They were all unaware that the Ninja were hiding behind a nearby rock. "Ha." Jay said as he and Gewuji peak out. "What luck. They left."
The others soon peak out as well. "Except all the Vermillion forces in the swamp are apparently headed to the same place we are: The Dome." Zane replied.
"He didn't say 'What good luck.'" Gewuji said as they vault over a rock.
"So what do we do?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, we're in deep trouble the moment they spot us." Maggie replied as Zane, Lloyd and Geoff see a nearby Vermillion helmet.
"Then let's make sure they don't." Lloyd said, picking it up and puts it on top of Geoff's head.
At the Boiling Sea, Machia's ship slowly moved along as Kai looked down it. "Eh, gotta give whoever named it the Boiling Sea credit for accuracy." He said, turning away from it.
"Kai, Nya, I am sorry." Ray replied, coming up to them. "We never expected anyone ever to return. Least of all our children. But only the Masters of Fire and Water, working together, can traverse it."
"Your journey will be fraught with peril: traps, enormous obstacles and Geotomic Rock Monsters." Maya said as she was by Dragon.
"And you will need the Dragon Blade." Ray heads over to Krux and takes the haladie. "Allow me."
"What." Acronix said. "What are you doing?"
"I knew it!" Machia yelled, jumping to the wrong conclusion. "This is a Ninja trick." She grabbed Leo that was laying nearby and jumped down at Ray, who immediately blocked her strike with the Dragon Blade and clashed as Ray turned to Krux and Acronix.
"It is the key to successfully getting you the Reversal Blade."
"It's one weapon." Krux said. "We still have three Time Blades."
"I suppose escape is impossible, although I'd love for them to try." Acronix replied, grinning.
"Machia, back away."
Machia moved back while still holding the sword at Ray's neck as he hands the Dragon Blade to Kai. "Now you must use it to create the Fusion Dragon." He said.
"The what?" Kai asked.
"Only a Fusion Dragon can plunge the depths of the Boiling Sea and only the Dragon Blade can create one."
"You will make the impossible possible, and unify the Elemental Powers of Fire and Water." Maya said. Kai soon threw the Dragon Blade in the air before Nya fires a flow of water at it. Kai soon held his hand up, firing a burst of flames at it. The two elements immediately create a spiral of fire and water around the Dragon Blade, before it conjures a two headed dragon, half red and half blue. The Dragon Blade soon came back to Kai's hands as Ray and Maya see the dragon. "The Fusion Dragon."
The dragon roared as it waited for the two siblings to get on. "Now, when you reach the first obstacle, you must-"
"No time." Kai cuts him off. "Dragon's wasting away. We'll just figure it out as we go." Kai soon jumped off the ship, onto the dragon before Nya nervously smiled at her parents before jumping down next to Kai.
"He can be a little hot-headed." She said.
"He gets that from his father." Maya replied. The dragon soon flew up and spun before Kai and Nya look at each other and the dragon prepares to plunge down. "Remember, work together!" Kai and Nya screamed the moment the dragon was close to diving into the Boiling Sea before it did so and moved through, surprising the siblings, avoiding burning pillars and come across an entrance to a cave. They look at each other and nod before they hold the Dragon Blade together and the Fusion Dragon disperses. They immediately start swimming into the cave.
