As they continued looking on, the time hole soon disappeared. "Kai!" Jay yelled. "Nya! Come back!" He immediately runs outside. "Kai!" He stops and held his hands to his mouth. "Nya!" The others soon follow him with Blake setting his father back on his wheelchair and wheeling him out. Jay soon started to sob at the fact his brother-in-law and wife are now gone. "Why'd they risk their lives to go after Krux and Acronix?"
"It was the only way to save Dragon." Ray replied as he was brought out by Maya and Geoff.
"Oh, okay. I'm good with it."
"You're Kai and Nya's parents, aren't you?" Gewuji asked as Geoff backed away.
"Yes." Maya replied. "I'm Maya. This is Ray."
"We saw your portrait at the museum." Geoff said. "During the wedding."
"Wedding?" Maya turns to Jay, who takes off his glove to show his wedding ring to them. "That's a wedding ring, isn't it?"
"Yeah, I'm your new son-in-law." Jay said. "I'm Jay. Now, about the situation."
"Krux and Acronix travelled back in time with the Reversal Blade so our children had to follow." Ray replied.
"Why?"
"Only that blade can undo the effect of the Time Punch on Master Wu." Maya said.
"And my mother?" Geoff asked.
"You're Tania Sanders' son, aren't you?"
"Yes. I am Geoff." He then turned to Gewuji. "This is my sister, Gewuji."
"So, the traitorous bitch and Clouse had two children." Ray said, angered at hearing Tania's name.
"Ray." Maya said, lightly chastising him. "Kai and Nya are Dragon and Tania's last hope."
"Master Wu is with them now?" Maggie asked.
"We have to go help." Cole replied before coming up to Cyrus. "We just need a time machine. You can build another one, right? Blake can help out."
"We can't." Cyrus said.
"Oh, I get it." Jay replied. "'I can't or we can't' is business speak for 'It'll cost you big.' Okay, businessman, I hear you."
"No, Jay, we can't because he used up all available materials." Blake said.
"Your friend is right." Maya replied as she came up to them. "No Time Blades, no time travel. I'm afraid there is nothing to do but wait and hope Kai and Nya return."
Jay then turned to Samurai X. "Okay, then, Samurai 2.0." Jay said as he came up to him. "While we're stuck waiting, why don't you tell us who's really under there?"
They're all unaware that Samurai X saw Blake shaking his head, discreetly. "No." He replied.
"Would 10 Ninjagins change your mind?"
"No."
"What about a piece of candy?"
"No."
"What about two pieces of candy?"
"No."
"What you said is true." Maya said to Ray. "Kai and Nya truly are Dragon and Tania's last hope."
"Not just theirs." Ray replied. "All of Ninjag-" He suddenly starts to cough as they all look at him, in concern.
"Ray. What is it?"
"On the ship... When Acronix hit me, he was holding a Time Blade. And something happened."
Zane immediately starts scanning Ray. "Accelerated physical deterioration, rapid loss of life function." He said. "You've been hit with a Time Punch as well."
"And there's no cure." Lloyd said.
"Wait." Cole said. "You said the Reversal Blade can undo it on Master Wu and Master Sanders. Would that work for you, too?"
"Only if our children retrieve it and return in time." Ray replied, voice getting raspy.
In the time hole, the Iron Doom flies along the path while inside, Krux and Acronix look on with Acronix sighing, in comfort. "The majesty of time travel." He said, holding up a BorgPad and takes a photo before looking at it. "Hm, not really capturing the majesty. Maybe a different filter."
Annoyed, Krux slaps it out of his hands. "Put that away." He replied. "We're approaching our temporal destination." He then turned to Raggmunk, Blunck and Machia. "Prepare your troops, Supreme Commander."
"My pleasure." Machia said before she, Raggmunk and Blunck leave.
"Ancient Ninjago. Before technology corrupted her. Decades of preparation will finally pay off. The battle will be refought."
Underneath a panel, Kai and Nya eavesdrop on their conversation. "This time, no one can stop us." Acronix said.
"Yeah?" Kai asked quietly. "I'll show him 'no one'." He prepares to get out.
"No." Nya replied, grabbing him and head back down, slamming the panel shut.
"Did you hear something?" Krux asked as they turn around.
"No." Acronix replied before turning back to the front. "Must be your imagination."
"Oh, I hate being old."
Underneath the panel, Kai and Nya look at each other. "To save Master Wu, we can't blow our cover." Nya said. They look to see Dragon groaning. "We have to wait for the exact right time."
"Okay." Kai replied before remembering Krux's last sentence. "'The battle will be refought'? What do you think that means?" The Iron Doom starts to shake as they lift the panel up to look out of it.
"I think we're about to find out." The Iron Doom reaches it destination.
Over 40 Years Earlier
At the monastery, a young Dragon, who is bleeding from the cut he was given, and Oni do their spell dance as the Elemental Masters restrain a young Krux and Acronix. They soon nod to each other before holding the Time Blades up as the they soon flew out of their hands, into the vortex. Krux and Acronix quickly subdue the Elemental Masters restraining them before looking at each other and fly into the vortex before it disappeared. "Did Krux and Acronix just...?" Oni asked as he was confused, but couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence.
"It appears they chose being lost to time over facing their punishment." Dragon replied. "The outcome is not as we intended, but Ninjago is now safe."
A time hole soon appeared in the sky and the Iron Doom lands behind them, shocking them all. "Look." Oni points at it as they back away.
They soon look down as the hatch opens up, revealing the present Krux and Acronix, who come out. "They look overconfident." Acronix said. "Overly so."
"Hey, Dr. Hall, am I seeing things or are those the guys we just beat?" A blonde haired Elemental Master asked.
"Indeed they are, Libby." Dr. Hall replied. (A/N: Not Jay's mother's official name, but it's been going around, so I decided to use it.)
"Why, yes, we are." Krux said. "You have already stopped us once today. But that was before we had a legion spawned from the Great Devourer."
"Aw, I thought I was gonna finally go on my honeymoon." Libby complained as the others were annoyed. "Really cute guy, too. Cliff is an actor and when I look into his eyes-"
"Shut up, Libby." Dragon cuts her off. "Focus, everyone."
"Focus?" Krux asked. "Indeed."
They then turned to the Iron Doom. "Commander Machia, it is time." Acronix said.
The Iron Doom soon moves. "Vermillion Warriors." She said. "To arms!" The Vermillion Warriors emerge on top of the Iron Doom as the Elemental Masters back away. "Devour!"
The warriors jump off the Iron Doom and face the Elemental Masters as they get out some swords and charge at them. Libby blocks one's sword as Spider's mother fired two web shots on one each and moved them aside while Powder's mother turned into dust and moved along them, trying to blind them. Dr. Hall then uses his Magnetic power to attract their metal and looked on with Dragon and Libby before seeing the Vermillion snakes return to the armour. "What?" Libby asked.
"The warriors are made of snakes." Dragon said as they soon reform.
"I've never seen snakes do that before." Dr. Hall replied.
The warrior tries to strike Dr. Hall, but Dragon blocks it before Dr. Hall raises his prosthetic leg and kicks it back. They immediately rejoin the other Elemental Masters as Libby fired a bolt of Lightning at two, causing them to come apart. "We have to keep them out." Oni said as they manage to force them back.
"Shut the gates." Dragon said as Libby and Dr. Hall came up to the gates and try to close them the moment the warriors were all out.
In the Iron Doom, Kai and Nya come out of their hiding spot and see the Elemental Masters trying to force the Vermillion Warriors away before Nya sees the Reversal Time Blade. "The Reversal Blade." She said before she grips it and tries to pull it out. "Fucking blade won't budge!"
Kai then pushes her away. "Step aside, sis." He said as he gripped it and tried to pull it out. "Let the Master of Fire take care of..."
"Masters." Dragon called out, looking to the right. "Watch your flank." They see some Vermillion Warriors climbing up the wall, into the monastery.
Behind the gates, Oni, Libby, Dr. Hall and Spider's mother charge at the warriors getting in and try to force them back before Libby strikes one and it comes apart. "There's too many." Oni said.
"And even when you stop one, it just forms back together." Libby replied as Oni strikes another warrior before looking to see a warrior reform behind Spider's mother.
"Consuela!"
Consuela quickly turns and kicks it the moment it reformed and it comes apart again. "Thanks." She said.
From the cockpit of the Iron Doom, Kai and Nya keep looking on. "They've never seen Vermillion before." Nya said. "They don't know how to stop them."
"But we do." Kai replied. "We've got to go help."
"Kai, Nya..." Present Dragon said, weakly as he came out of the hiding spot and they turn to him.
"Master Wu." They quickly came over to him as he was about to collapse, but they grab him.
"Where are we?"
"Long story, but we're back in time. 40 years. When you, Oni and the Elemental Masters fought Krux and Acronix at the Monastery. Only this time, the good guys are losing."
Dragon groaned as he got up. "We have to help you." Nya said.
"Not just you you. Young you, too, Dragon." Dragon groaned as Kai felt awkward about the sentence. "That's a mouthful."
"No." Dragon replied. "If you meddle with time, it affects the future. Change anything, change everything. In this time, you do not exist yet." He groaned as he tilted his head back.
"Master. Is he...?"
"He's still here." Nya said, reassuring Kai. "But not for long."
"Neither are they. They need us."
"We can't reveal our presence. You heard Master Wu: 'Change time, change everything.'"
"I also heard Krux: 'The battle will be refought.' Don't you get it? Things are already changing. For the worse. Besides, Master Wu also says, 'Never put off till tomorrow what can be done today.' And if we don't help today, there won't be a tomorrow."
"But we don't exist in this time. Oh, I know who does." They immediately exit behind the Iron Doom, carrying Dragon. "We have to hide him somewhere safe."
