The race was in a few minutes. This would be the qualification race to see who would face the Grand Prix challenge. Koopa hopped into his kart and brushed a scaled hand over the smooth side. Koopa loved his B-Dasher. The best kart in his opinion. He would use roller tires to optimize acceleration. And a cloud glider to minimize weight and maximize flight power. He drove out his garage and inspected the other racers. He immediately saw Luigi and made a mental note to kick his ass. Then there was King Boo, Lemmy, Larry, Peach, Mario, Toad, Rosalina, Wendy, Isabelle and... YOSHI! Koopa's rival. Koopa gave him a glare while getting into starting position. Yoshi gave him a confident glance and looked ahead. They were at MarioKart stadium. "Quite the upgrade from Toad circuit." Toad heard and stuck out his tongue at him. This made Yoshi laugh. Then Lakitu flew overhead and explained the rules. No using item for anything other than their intended use, no ganging up on other players, the usual. Then he raised his hand and waved once. Then twice. The light turned green. Thrice! The race had begun. Koopa dashed to the front with his high acceleration kart. "EAT MY DUST!" He yelled. But when he turned around he saw something very unpleasant. Luigi. With a red shell. They exchanged glances. One of fear and the other with power. He threw the red shell. Koopa panicked as the inevitable occurred.
"What was that?" Luigi mocked, giving his famous death stare. Koopa just sat there. He forgot that he was still in the race and let King Boo and Mario pass him. Then he snapped back to reality. He was still in this race. He pushed his pedal to the metal and rushed to regain first place. He ran through an item box and got three bananas. He used one to spin out Mario, strategically placed one under an item box and kept the third, just in case. He passed under the starting line, starting his second lap. He looked up at the vertical wall. It was crazy that he could drive up it.
"HEY KOOPA!" 'Oh no...' Koopa thought as Yoshi sped behind him and middle fingered him. "What do you think of my new kart?"
"Its nice... it would be a shame if someone shelled it." Koopa said, pulling out a green shell. Yoshi's eyes went from confident to shocked in a second. Koopa wasted no time and threw it. Yoshi dodged it with relative ease and looked back to see Koopa not there. "Over here!" Koopa yelled. Yoshi turned around to see the shell Koopa threw heading straight for him.
"F**K YOU!" Yoshi yelled, being sent to 6th place. Koopa just ignored and went to the task at hand. King Boo and Luigi. He was now on his third lap. King Boo was ahead of him by quite a bit. All Koopa had was a measly banana. He threw it but missed. King Boo noticed it and turned around to mock Koopa.
"Whats wrong little TURTLE?" This really pissed Koopa off. He grabbed an item box only for it to fail him. A coin. "What is it TURTLE? Got a coin?" he then laughed his creepy laugh. Koopa hated him. Then King Boo headed for Luigi. Luigi's look changed from his confident look to a mixture of scared and pissed. Koopa watched as the two enemies bashed karts and glared. 'Whos gonna win!?' Koopa thought. The finish line was nearing quickly. Koopa threw shells but in vain. Until one HIT one of them. He saw King Boo in a fit of rage as Luigi raced ahead and crossed the finish line. Koopa sped past and got second. Not bad at all. He saw Luigi sigh and and wipe sweat off his forehead. Yoshi was outraged at Koopa's success and rampaged over to him to yell at him.
