A series of mistakes told in 300 words that help to explain just why Inuyasha was sealed for 50 years.

8. Chapter 8

_Mistake 8_

Standing in the hallway of school was nothing new, the sword sticking out of her torse was so new that for a minute she thought she was dreaming,

'Stabbed by a sword at school? That's new. '

an illusion that was promptly shattered when the pain hit. Bringing shaking hands to her stomach, she tried to breathe

Breathe, Kagome… breathe…..

It took a lot more energy then it should have to lift her head, but stormy gray managed to travel up to catch a blurry hallway with an equally blurry body standing not too far from her.

"I still don't understand your infatuation with that dog, Kagome."

Her dry throat preventing speech, Kagome blinked in a vain attempt to decipher the identity of her companion. She couldn't place a name but deep down a part of her soul trembled in fear at the false warmth behind the voice; at the pain they could bring, at the remembrance of the pain they had already brought.

"We are the true firsts! You were mine and you will be mine - For eternity."

Finally bringing the face into focus, recognition struck her! Had she ever seen that face so devoid of emotion? Nakajima Masaru had struck her as a kind boy but the sadistic grin he sported told a different story.

It was hard shaking off the cold hands cupping her face and in her fear, called for help, "Inu-

"We belong together so why do you run to HIM?" Releasing her face his arms quickly embraced her from behind and his breath fanned across her ear, "I'll find you again and make sure he can never have you." His hands moved to the handle of the sword and she felt as he pushed it farther into her and into him.

She knew no more.

A/N: The idea that someone would be after Kagome in her own time with knowledge of the jewel came to me after reading that Midoriko had been pursued by someone that went dark a la Naraku, which is mirrored by Kikyo's situation. What if it had also happened to Kagome, but the jewel isn't what they wanted exactly? The firsts bit is something that will be explained and explored in another story.
