Geralt's head was spinning. He had just killed Dettlaff, discovered Syanna's plot to murder her sister, received the highest honour in all of Toussaint while feeling guilt, then watched as the sisters embraced once more. Then he learned his dear friend Regis must leave Toussaint for breaking the most important vampire rule. After reminiscing and sharing good drink with him, Geralt had an urge to go home. He deserved a rest after all.
He called Roach over and rode from the cemetery, and into town. He had his equipment repaired and headed towards home. It was early in the morning, about 9:30 or so when he and Roach reached the house. He dismounted his beloved horse and led her over to her stable, where fresh food and water was waiting. She immediately started enjoying the food, whinnying and she chewed. Geralt patted her on the hip and headed towards the door. He found Barnabas-Basil standing outside, which was strange. He immediately hurried over to Geralt, guilt in his eyes. "Master Witcher! Some unknown individual barged into the residence! I resisted best I could, but to no avail!" Geralt furrowed his brows. "Who is it?" The majordomo sighed as his head sank. "Alas, they did not do me the basic courtesy of introducing themselves!" Geralt looked at the door, and decided he'd investigate. He had no idea who it could be, he wasn't expecting any guests. Geralt slowly walked through the door and looked around. He looked to his right and saw her...
A wonderful scent filled the air. Her locks were dark, long, and shiny. Her figure slim. Geralt smiled with joy. Incredibly happy to see his Yennefer home at last. He thought it would take longer. How had she found the residence? He never gave her an exact location, just that he had a house in Toussaint. Geralt stepped closer to Yennefer. "Unexpected as ever." Yen turned around with a gleaming smile across her face. She slowly stepped closer to Geralt, love in her violet eyes. She looked him up and down, as to make sure he was well. She had requested that he take "exceedingly good care" of himself. Geralt smiled more and admired her. They both hesitantly walked towards each other. Both with looks of desire, love, and lust. It had been so long since they last saw each other. Yennefer threw herself into her lovers arms, and Geralt embraced her with his warmth and love. They hugged for a moment, and then stepped back to look at one another. Geralt looked at her again. "And beautiful as ever..." Yennefer smirked at him, she missed those compliments of his. "Won't you even ask why I've come? Or how I found you?" Geralt chuckled. "Wouldn't get a straight answer anyways." Yennefer smiled. "Quite true." Geralt smirked. "Used to bother me, all your secrets... now I know if you have something to tell me, you'll tell me. Don't need to ask." Yennefer smiled as she lowered her head. She paced in a small circle before looking into his eyes once more. This time they were bursting with lust, pride, joy, and love. "I missed you, Geralt. Madly." Geralt was relieved to hear. He had also missed her madly. Only a year apart and he never could get her out of his mind. He often had dreams of her, recalled their memories as he lay in bed, and she often came up in conversations. He took her hand and rubbed its smooth surface with his thumb. Yennefer placed her other hand on his shoulder. "Come outside. We can hold hands and stare at the sky. Like in some shitty two-crown romance." Geralt nodded, and watched as Yennefer walked towards the door.
They lay under a tree, in each other's arms. For a few moments, they just sat there. Both appreciating what they long sought. Right then, they were just living in the moment. Something neither of them really had a chance to do in the past. Birds chirped and the breeze blew against the green grass. Flower petals sprinkled from the tree above, and a butterfly flew around the rose bush. The couple gazed at the blue sky and wonders of nature for an hour or two. Geralt began to tell Yennefer how he came to own an estate of his own. He told her about their old friend Regis, and the story of the lost princess. After a while, they stood up. Geralt squeezed Yen's hand. "Come on, high time I showed you around." Yennefer smiled, and they both set off towards the garden.
Yennefer looked around in awe. She stopped and smelled one of the roses on the large archway. Geralt admired her. "So. This is the garden. Herbs and flowers are growing here, so I can make potions with ease. This particular part of the garden is for decorative flowers only." Geralt scratched his head, and Yennefer looked into his eyes. "I remember you jokingly said something about a flower garden back on skellige. Well, this could be it. The workers take care of the flowers, but you can spend time in here if you'd like." Yennefer giggled. "You know what? I just might. My... it's beautiful."
They waved to the workers tending the herb garden, and they crossed the bridge to the stable. Geralt extended his arm towards the small building. "This is where Roach stays. After all she's been through, she deserves a place to rest and enjoy herself. I let her wander into the nearby fields as well. I know she won't go far. There's also room for another horse, if you'd like to keep one." Yennefer stepped closer and ran her delicate fingers through Roach's mane. "I like it. It's lovely. And it's good to see you too Roach." Roach whinnied and the pair moved on towards the trees. As they walked hand in hand, Geralt continued the tour. "The previous owner grew olive trees here. They're doing well and they bear fruit quite often. Over here, this is where the actual vineyard starts. BB told me that we won't produce any wine this year because of a fungus, but hopefully next year we will be in better condition." Yennefer turned towards Geralt. "Who is 'B B'?" Geralt perked up. Right. I forgot to introduce you to Barnabas-Basil, BB for short, although I'm not sure he likes his nickname. He's the one that tried to stop you as you barged in." They walked back over to the house, where Barnabas was waiting. "He was quite unhappy that you didn't introduce yourself, so let's get that over with. Right. Yennefer, this is Barnabas-Basil Foulty. Our majordomo. BB, this is Yennefer of Vengerberg, a Sorceress. She's my, uh... beloved. She is to be secondary owner to the estate, please do whatever she asks of you." Barnabas nodded his head and extended his hand to shake hers. "A pleasure to meet you Lady Yennefer. I'm at your service. Forgive me for being a bit rude earlier. I had no idea." Yennefer returned his handshake. "Not a problem Barnabas. Uh, just a question. Are there any lounge chairs around here? I'd like to place one outside by the river." BB nodded. "Yes I believe so. I'll go see. It was a pleasure to officially meet you Miss Yennefer." BB walked out of the house in search of the chair. Yennefer turned towards Geralt. "Woah, we have a majordomo? Fancy." Geralt chuckled. "Yeah, he came with the place, he's a very reliable man. Helped me restore the estate to its old glory. But there's one more person I'd like you to meet. She's very interesting." Geralt led Yennefer into the kitchen, where they found a frail old woman standing over the pot. "So Yen, this is Marlene. She's got quite an interesting story. I'll have to tell you the details some other time. Basically, she was cursed into a spotted wight for several decades until I freed her of the curse. Since her estate was in ruins, I brought her here to recover. She hadn't had a meal in decades." Marlene smiled and shook Yennefer's hand. "A pleasure to meet you miss Yennefer. I look forward to getting to know you. Let me know if you're ever hungry. You'll both always have a warm, delicious meal to come home to!" Yennefer smiled and took a deep breath. "That smells amazing!" Geralt chuckled. "Marlene is an excellent chef! Anyways, she decided to live here and cook for us. She's an excellent cook. Would you like some pork for dinner Yen?" Yennefer pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Now that you mentioned it, I am quite hungry. It was quite tiring getting all my stuff here." Marlene bowed her head. "It should be ready in an hour or so, I'll have someone bring it outside for you two. Oh! I also heard Master Geralt talking to the majordomo about growing apple trees for apple juice production. I took the liberty of making some fresh juice for you." Yennefer's face lit up. "Oh! Thank you! I love apple juice." Yennefer turned towards Geralt. "So... what will we do for an hour?" Geralt turned towards the door. "Hmm. There's a few more rooms in the house. Come see them with me."
Geralt led Yennefer up the stairs to a large room lit with candles and surrounded by flowers. In the center of the room, lay a large, circular basin. Geralt smirked and lay a hand on her chest. "This... is our bath. It's big enough for the two of us. I had it ordered a while ago." Yennefer stepped closer towards Geralt, their lips almost touching. "It's lovely, perhaps we should test it out sometime? You know how much I love baths..." Geralt pressed his forehead against hers. Their mouths were so close together that both could feel the others warm breathing. Yennefer took Geralt's hand, lifted it up a bit higher, rubbed his beard, and leaned in for a passionate kiss. It felt magical and wonderful. They had missed each other dearly, and those feelings were conveyed through the kiss. Yennefer let out a soft moan as Geralt started to kiss her neck. She threw her head back and dug her nails into his back. He started sucking on her neck, and Yen let out another moan. She then placed her hand on his chest and pushed him away. "Not now Geralt. Dinner is soon, remember?" Geralt rolled his eyes in disappointment. "Yeah I know. I've just missed you so much. I want you Yen. Right now, tomorrow, forever. It's always been you. I hope you know that. I love you. Yennefer looked at him with her shimmering eyes. She smiled and threw herself into his arms once more. "I love you too Geralt. I can't wait to live peacefully with you. It's what I dreamed of you know." Geralt stroked the back of her head. "Yeah, I know. Me too. Perhaps it's time to retire, I could do vineyard stuff." Yennefer chuckled. "No silly, you're a Witcher. I know you enjoy what you do, and I won't stop you. You may come and go from contracts as you please, and I'll always be at home, waiting for you. Just know I'll miss you."
The two headed down the stairs until they went back up another flight of stairs to find a small room. A painting of Aretuza hung by the stairs, a mannequin sat in the corner by a desk, a rocking chair sat by the window in the light, and a beautiful bed lay in the other corner of the room, right by the window. Yennefer smiled. "My my, expecting company?" Geralt smiled and looked at Yennefer. "Well, I was thinking that Ciri could stay here if she wanted. She's been on the path for a while now, and I was hoping she might stop by one of these days. Meanwhile, you could sit up here and read by the window." Yennefer brushed her hand on his cheek. "That's a wonderful idea Geralt. I think we'd both love to see her again." They both smiled at each other, remembering the good times they had with their daughter. "Geralt... I miss her. I hope she's doing well." Geralt squeezed Yennefer's hand. "I have no doubt that she's doing well. She can take care of herself. You know this. Although I do miss her too. Remember the time when we all we-"
Geralt was interrupted by yelling. "DINNER!" The moment was abruptly ended, and the pair were snapped back to reality. "Come Geralt, let's eat. I'm hungry." Geralt invited Barnabas-Basil and Marlene to eat with them outside. They all chatted and got to know one another as the sun set and the sky turned orange. Yennefer told them a few stories about her adventures with Geralt, and then the wild hunt. She explained the bond between them and how they always found each other again. They were bound by destiny and love. After eating the delicious meal with wonderful wine and sharing stories for hours, the sun had set, and Barnabas and Marlene headed off to their houses. Yennefer sunk into Geralt's embrace. "Geralt?" "Yes?" "I love you, and I'm so glad we get to live here forever." Geralt squeezed her shoulder and embraced her tighter. "I love you too Yen. And I'm glad we finally found our happy ending..."
After a lively conversation and a tasty meal, Yennefer and Geralt sat and watched the stars. Yennefer turned towards Geralt. "My they're lovely. You can see thousands of them from here. The air isn't too cold, and it's just beautiful. I could do this forever..." Geralt stroked her soft black hair and sighed. "It is beautiful, but you're even better Yen. You'll always be the most beautiful in my eyes." Yennefer rubbed his arm. "I missed those awkward compliments of yours. Now then, shall we go inside? I haven't seen our bedroom yet." Geralt got up and held out his hand. "Not yet, I have one more place to show you." Geralt led Yennefer into the wine cellar. "A wine cellar? What's so special about this?" Geralt shook his head. "Not the cellar, although I did kill a bruxa here once. I wanted to show you this room." Geralt pointed towards the old lab he found a while back. Yennefer's eyes widened in awe. "I found this room back when we were renovating. I can mess with mutagens in here, but there's also a fair amount of stuff that I think you'd find interesting. As you can see, this stuff is pretty old, but also pretty advanced." Yennefer examined the trinkets and the machinery. She turned towards Geralt, still holding a piece of something in her hand. "This is spectacular Geralt, I can't believe that I get to use this place. I look forward to it." She placed down the trinket and laid a hand on his arm. "Now can we see our bedroom? I'm a bit... tired." Geralt smirked. "Of course. This way." They walked towards the exit of the cellar, and then towards the room. Geralt opened the door for her and Yennefer walked inside. "Well! This is wonderful! The bed is of top quality, you've plenty of books for me to read, there's a desk here too, and-" Yennefer stopped and started laughing. "Geralt! What is that? You posed naked on a horse?" Geralt shoved his face into his hand. "No of course not. I posed with all my clothes on, and the artist decided to paint me without. I bought it to keep it out of sight from the public." Yennefer giggled as she admired the painting. "It's a bit peculiar, but I like it. He got a lot of your... features off." Geralt chuckled with embarrassment. "Yeah... didn't have a source to go on. Anyways..." he grabbed her waist and pulled her close, until their noses were almost touching. "Shit Yen... I missed you. Too much. I need you, right now. Come here." Yennefer shook her head, pulled herself away from Geralt, and shoved him onto the bed. She jumped onto the bed, and they started to kiss. *** Once they made it to the bed, they made love. It was intense and passionate. Both waited for so long. After an hour or two, they cuddled up in their bed, and went to sleep. Both had been craving that for such a long time. They could do that whenever they wanted now. It was living the dream. Yennefer rubbed Geralt's hand very softly. "Goodnight Geralt." He hugged her tighter. "Goodnight Yen."
In the morning, Geralt woke up. He looked to the side to make sure that last night wasn't a dream. It wasn't. There she was, his everything. Laying in their bed, in their home. Geralt smiled, and quietly put his trousers back on. He walked into the dining room and grabbed a tray of fruits. Then he went to check the kitchen. To his surprise, he found Marlene making an omelet. "Marlene? What are you doing here this early?" Marlene chuckled and sighed. "I remember what it was like when I met the father of my children. We loved much like you two did last night, without a care. It didn't last between us, but you two have a love that is inseparable. I woke up early and decided to make you both an omelet with a side of cold apple juice. Since you're up first, perhaps you'd like to surprise her?" Geralt's eyes widened. "You... uh... heard that?" Marlene laughed. "My sight wasn't very good as a wight, I developed pretty good hearing and I guess it stuck with me. Don't worry, I won't say a word. I'm glad to see you happy Master Geralt. Now here, bring her some breakfast. I'll cook some muffins you can give her tomorrow morning." Geralt smiled and took the tray of food. "Thanks Marlene. For everything." Geralt walked out of the kitchen and into the bedroom. Yennefer was still asleep. He placed the tray down on the desk and sat on the bed. He stroked her raven hair and admired her. She was so beautiful and peaceful as she slept. He kissed her forehead and whispered. "Yen, good morning, I got you something." Yennefer rolled over and slowly opened her eyes. She smiled when she looked at Geralt. "Good morning." Geralt stroked her hair again and sat back up. "Sit up Yen, I got you something." He handed her the tray of food while she was still in bed. A bowl of cut up bananas, strawberries, grapes, and blueberries sat to the right of the steaming omelet. To the left, sat a tall goblet of ice cold apple juice. Yennefer smiled, and ran her hand over his cheek. "Thank you Geralt, but why w-" Geralt interrupted her. "Because I want to let you know how much I appreciate you, and how grateful I am that after all we've been through, we finally get to relax together. I love you Yen, and I want to start trying to show more gratitude. So, Marlene made you an omelet and I got you fruit and juice." Yennefer blushed. "I- thank you. It means a lot. But how did you get this juice to be so cold?" Geralt chuckled. "Remember that letter you sent me about the professor?" She nodded. "Turns out he was trying to reverse the mutations on his son, but only ended up enhancing them. I used his machine to enhance my abilities. One of them is aard, but with ice. Pretty neat right? I've got a whole metal canister full of apple juice in the cellar. I blasted it with ice aard, and, done!" Yennefer smiled. "That's pretty cool. I'm glad it proved useful to you." She took a bite of her omelet, letting out an audible "mmmm." Geralt started to walk away, so he could grab a banana to eat. Yennefer grabbed his hand. "Geralt?" "Yes?" "I love you. So much." They both smiled. "I love you too Yen."
