This story takes place 8 years after breaking dawn, it focuses on Jacob and Renesmee for the most part. I'm not a writer, AT ALL. I'm writing this for fun and for myself as something to do. Please Excuse my terrible grammar. I've never written a story so let me know any changes I should make. I'm also kind of banking on no one really reading Twilight fanfiction anymore.

Chapter 1
I closed my eyes and leaned back in the chair so that Alice could rinse my hair, she was getting me ready for my night out with Jake. Usually, I didn't mind much when Alice wanted to play dress up but today was different... everywhere I'd gone today someone in the house was looking at me funny like they knew something I didn't... which they probably did but still, I just didn't have the patience for extreme makeover Alice edition. Alice pinned the last piece of my hair into an intricate updo and smiled at her handy work.
"Perfect timing!" She squealed "Jacob's pulling up now!
"Finally" I huffed in annoyance. Although I wasn't really annoyed, not anymore at least.
"Actually, don't get too excited just yet, your dad wants to talk to him. You might as well get comfortable." She said with a blank face and then a cheeky smile...Like she knew she'd be able to convince me to stay for some makeup as long as Jake was taking his time. And I was back to annoyed.
My time with Jake was always fun, we usually hung out at the beach down on the Rez, or went over to Collin and Katie's house. After Collin finally graduated he went off to college at the University of Washington where he imprinted on Katie on his first day in their chemistry lab. He had wanted to stay closer but Jake told him to start living life, we couldn't wait around for the next shoe to drop forever. And things had been pretty quiet since our last encounter with the Volturi eight years ago.
The packs had changed a lot since then. The two separate packs became one when Sam stopped phasing about 6 years back, he and Emily got married and had baby Nico. Quil was still a wolf...and still being led around on a figurative leash by Claire who was 11 years old and very into soccer. So that's what they did every weekend... played hours of soccer and then had French Fry eating contests. I do suppose that's better than what Embry was doing, working his office job, and complaining about it every moment of every day. He missed the ' good' ol days ' as he called them, running around with the pack and being free. But Jake said what he really missed was the sense that he was doing something. Embry just needed a new job.
Leah, though still sporadically phasing, was across the country in New York attending school, she had stuck around La Push until just a few years ago when Jake told her too that life must go on. She took her beta responsibilities pretty serious but knew her time as a wolf needed to come to an end, for her own sanity, and then she went as far away as she could. Unfortunately, she hadn't mastered stopping phasing as fast as Sam had, which really irked her because she'd never had a particularly difficult time controlling her temper... even Paul had stopped phasing already, which REALLY irked her.
Collin and Brady were both still wolves and roomed together in Port Angeles while attending school... school was pretty big on the wolves radar since Jake took over completely. Or rather, school was shoved down their throats by Carlisle and my father who insisted upon paying tuition for the wolves who had helped save their lives time after time. But the wolves took advantage for the most part, though skeptical of accepting so much from their once enemies.
There hadn't been any new pack members in a while and once we left town for good they would likely stop until we returned in a hundred years or so. We'd take 2 with us of course, Jake and Seth, who had demanded Jacob let him come until he was ready to finish out his human life. Our move had been put off for quite some time, my grandpa Charlie and Billy Black were big factors in that decision. My mom and Jake couldn't stand to leave them just yet. So we stayed hidden, or rather they stayed hidden, I showed my face in town occasionally but not enough for people to ask questions. Carlisle left his job at forks hospital when we pretended to move in 2007 and then accepted a new job in a nearby town. Not much had changed with the Cullens these last few years but the time to start all over was coming.
"Hello, earth to Nessie. Did you hear anything I just said to you?"
"Err no, sorry. What is it?" Alice rolled her eyes dramatically "never mind that, Jake's ready to go!"
I jumped up higher than necessary and ran downstairs. "Thanks Alice!" He was waiting, of course, standing there perfectly as usual. His dark black hair almost over his eyes. He would need a haircut soon.
"Hey ness" he mumbled into my hair as I pulled him into a strong hug
"Hey yourself" I said with a quick peck on his lips, knowing my father was watching us. "What's on the agenda for tonight?"
"Same old same old, I thought we could head down to the beach and relax. I'm beat." Jake had opened his own garage with Rosalie as a frequent guest mechanic. Together they had put Dowlings out of business, and with their fair prices, they were swamped 6 days a week. Their relationship wasn't completely better but they did have a special bond over their love of cars.
We took our time walking to the beach, why rush when we had forever? The silence was never awkward with Jacob, but it was rare. I stole a quick glance at his face, he was lost in thought, much like he'd been a lot lately. I know our pending move was something he thought about a lot but whenever I'd bring it up he brushed off his worries and mine.
"You ready to get out of here? Only another few days until we make the move." He asked, his voice appearing more light-hearted than his face.
"I'll miss everyone here but I'm pretty excited for Rochester, Alice says we'll stay away from NYC for Leah's sake but Boston's still acceptable for shopping."
I got an incredulous stare "Whoo shopping!" I could almost feel the sarcasm in his voice. Shopping wasn't something I felt strongly about either way but Jake loathed it.
"Are you sure you want to make this move with us? No one will be upset if you don't come." I lied. I would be upset but his happiness was more important than my feelings.
"Ness, we've been over this about 500 times. I'm coming. You're not going to hog all the shopping time on the east coast." He teased with a wink.
"What about the garage? You've put so much into it, what with knocking out all your competitors." I knew I'd get more out of him if I kept my tone light. He let out a small and sincere chuckle but said nothing. So much for that conversation.
We walked a few miles in the sand just enjoying the day until he finally spoke "Let's head over to Sam and Emily's, she's cooking tonight." I knew there wasn't really an option. If Emily was cooking all wolves in the area, past and present would be there.
"Race ya!" I took off, not giving him a chance to accept the challenge. I heard something along the lines of cheater but kept running.
When I was close enough to the old yellow house I realized there were more people here tonight than I'd thought there would be. The yard was set up with picnic tables and minor decorations. More surprisingly was that my family was there too, they and the pack were on good terms but no one really bothered Sam and Emily anymore. I could tell by Jakes face that he was just as surprised as I was.
"Hey guys!" A chorus sang from the yard. We were pulled into a long line of hugs. Everyone but Leah was there, even Grandpa Charlie had shown up.
"What is all this? I thought you were just having a little cookout." Jacob said looking at Emily.
"Awe come on, this is little." Sam teased and everyone laughed
"It's a going-away party for you guys and the Cullens!" Seth chimed in "of course Alice knew, so then Edward knew and he had to tell Bella And then Carlisle had to know to take time off and well there's not much surprise left on that front. But we knew we'd get you guys at least!"
"Wow, guys this is great! Isn't it great Jacob?" His silence didn't go unnoticed, it seemed almost rude if I was being honest.
"Yeah! Great guys, thanks." He tried to fake enthusiasm but I wasn't convinced.
The party ran smoothly, the occasional wolf giving a short goodbye speech. With every passing moment Jake looked sadder and sadder, how could this be the right thing for him?
"Finally he cleared his throat " Hey so there's a few things we should talk about and now is as good a time as any." Everyone turned to pay attention "I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to do with the garage, seems like there's only one option" he turned to Embry "do us all a favor and quit your job, we all feel like we're paper-pushing slaves. Take the garage, you're ALMOST as good a mechanic as I am. You can hire another guy to help you get the job done... I was thinking Quil."
"Quil just looked at him for a minute before he spoke "We can't take your garage, you've worked so-" he was cut off "just take it, but don't trash it too much. I won't be able to run it from New York anyway, I know you two can handle it."
"Thanks man! I'm quitting... now, I'm gonna send in my resignation right now." The excitement in Embry's voice apparent.
Then Jake's speech took a pack turn and I zoned out. Grandpa Charlie pulled me out of it.
"Hey kid! We're sure gonna miss you guys around here, won't be the same."
"Don't worry Grandpa, Mom and Alice already have our next 50 visits back planned out." I giggled, he gave me a hug and some more grandfatherly advice before leaving. Jacob was still talking, it was still about the pack but not official business. I caught the very end.
"I used to hate this whole wolf thing but now I'm just glad, there's not a bunch around that I'd rather have spent the last 10 years with." Paul cut in "you're moving not dying, stop being so dramatic" he joked but I could see the tears in more than a few eyes. What else had I missed?
After many well wishes and profuse 'thank you's' the party dispersed and we caught a ride home with my dad, er I caught a ride home. Jake wanted to run.
"He just needs one last lap around home, he'll be back tomorrow after he finishes packing." My mom had spoken to me for the first time that night. This move was hard on her too, she would be headed to Grandpas house for a few more hours tonight.
I had finished packing all my things yesterday, wishing now that I hadn't just so that I had something to distract me. I settled for crawling into bed and hoping sleep came fast and hard. Only 2 days left in this little room that had been mine since I was born. 2 days until we drove to Rochester and started the high school charade. I fell into a deep slumber, still worrying about my favorite wolf.
