Vanya knew she wasn't special; god knows her father had told her that most of her life. Then when she met Leonard she felt that someone finally saw her. That he saw her as more than just an empty shell of a girl. He made her feel special and whole. It was nice to feel like she wasn't someone who was known by association. Well, it was nice until he told her the truth and tried to get her to end the world. Which to be fair she did… then time travelled twice. So, whilst she knew she was unique now she never thought that she was special.

Well, that was until she was sat in Allison's room getting her hair and makeup done. She wasn't all to sure what she was going to do. Five had told her that whilst their Father was out he had a surprise planned for her. At first, Vanya panicked, why on earth would he do something especially for you. Yet before she could protest Allison dragged her upstairs and ordered her to have a shower before she then took Vanya's hair and started to style it. She had taken the usually straight hair and began to curl it before attempting to start on Vanya's makeup.
"Allison?" she asked timidly. Allison hummed for her to continue
"Why has Five done something for me, is he going to leave again?" she asked. Allison's face dropped; she knew Vanya didn't like surprises
"No… no, Vanya, he's not leaving he just wants to give you a night to remember." She promised, Vanya raised an eyebrow
"Why?" she asked, her guard coming up. Allison sighed
"Just trust me on this Vanya, all will be revealed later" Vanya gulped but relented.

Once she was finished Klaus came to the door

"Oh, contrair dear sister you look absolutely ravishing" he exclaimed. Vanya rolled her eyes
"Again why does everyone know what is going on but me" She teased. Klaus merely laughed and offered her his arm which she took.

He then took her downstairs, Vanya questioning what was happening all the way. Klaus merely smirked. He waltzed her into the kitchen where Five stood. Vanya felt her jaw drop, he was wearing a suit an actual suit. Klaus nodded at five and left the room.

Five walked towards her, a smile adorning his face.
"Hey Vanya," he said softly, offering her a hand. She took it as she asked what was going on. Five's only answer was a smirk as he led her to a small table in the far corner, it had two chairs and was covered with a red checked table cover. A single candle was lit in the middle. Five pulled a chair out for Vanya in which she sat.
"You look beautiful," he said earnestly. Vanya blushed which made Five's heart speed up, how she could light up a room with a smile he would never know.
"Five, what's going on," she asked. He reached for her hand, grasping it softly
"You'll see later but for tonight just enjoy it" he pleaded. She nodded and eventually began to grin
"Did you plan this?" she asked. Five looked down, embarrassed.
"Might have done" he murmured. Vanya chuckled
"Who knew you had a soft side?" she quipped
"Shut up"
"Make me" at this Five's eyes darkened.
"Oh Vanya trust me, I will later" her eyes widened but before she could retort Ben appeared wearing a waiters outfit.
"Sir, Madam, Thank you for choosing the Umbrella Academy as your restaurant of choice. Today's menu is peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches with a side of the finest baked salted crisps. Then for dessert, all the way from the wild jungles of Asda is Strawberries and ice cream. I will be back with your drinks in just a moment." He said in a snooty voice. Vanya laughed, unaware to Fives longing stare. When Ben left Vanya and Five settled into a comfortable conversation which carried throughout their meal.

Vanya had never felt to light in her life, it was amazing that this time around she felt so free.

When they had finished Five took her hand and flashed them to the roof to watch the sunset. Vanya didn't want to admit it, but she was starting to feel things for Five. Things she shouldn't feel but nether the less the pair sat on the roof with Vanya's head on his shoulder.

It was silent as the glowing sun finally settled on the horizon. It was quiet until Five's voice echoed in the outside air.
"Vanya… I need to tell you something and I need you not to freak out." She nodded, as her stomach dropped.
"Look… I'm not good with emotions so bear with me. I.. I like you; I like you a lot. I know it's wrong because we're meant to be siblings or whatever, but I do. I guess I always have, you always made e feel things which you know is complete your fault. Like how dare you give me feeling and make my heart beat fast. I love you and I understand if you don't reciprocate- "
Five was cut off when a pair of soft lips collided with his, five felt a fire raging in his gut as he pulled her closer. If they weren't kids Five would have took it further but he knew Vanya wasn't ready for that.

When she pulled away she stared into Five's eyes. They were calm for once in his life and even though she needed to breathe she was regretting it. She wanted to kiss Five, to hold him. Yet it was in that moment as she looked deeply into his eyes she knew. She supposed she had always known but it was in that moment she knew she was irrevocably in love.
