CaptainSteve1: Thank you so much for adding this story to your community The Very Best of Jaya, I am honoured you chose my story!
Now...the last chapter!
Again, Cole and Jay are best friends in this fanfic, not anything more. It's a Jaya story, not Bruiseshipping.
Enjoy!
"Jay! Dude, we all thought you were dead!" Cole said, letting Jay go. The usually strong Earth Ninja had tears in his eyes, and he held Jay's shoulders, inspecting his condition.
"You look...great. But, we all watched you get shot with an arrow! How is this possible?" Cole continued, confusion now evident on his features. Zane scanned Jay with a smile on his face, while Kai messed up Jay's hair and Lloyd gave the Blue Ninja a side hug.
" You have a large amount of elemental energy radiating off of you. What happened?" Zane said, sitting Jay down. Nya sat beside him, resting her head on her boyfriend's shoulder.
"Umm...apparently I turned into my element? I don't remember much, only seeing a lot of white light, sometimes blue. I assume it was all lightning, I guess."
"Jay became lightning in his last moments, therefore healing his wound and allowing him to survive." Sensei Wu added, hoping that he helped bring some clarity to Jay's explanation. The Master of Lightning nodded.
"So, it's like you never were hit?" Zane asked, looking down where Jay had been wounded.
Jay chuckled as he pulled up his shirt, revealing the bright blue scar on his torso. "Let's just say Cole and I are twins now." Cole's mouth widened in shock. Everyone was silent.
"That's…..strange." Lloyd finally said, and Kai nodded. Cole noticed that Jay began shaking, his eyes focused on a random point on the wall.
"Hey, dude, are you okay? You're shaking."
"I-I don't want to go back!" Jay spat out, standing up suddenly. The team could see lightning flicker over his body, and soon both of his legs turned into lightning. Nya quickly ran to her boyfriend's side, holding him up, as Jay couldn't stand.
Cole joined Nya in supporting the panicked ninja. Cole soon realized what was going on with his best friend. Jay, like Cole when he became a ghost, couldn't stay human, or in a physical form. Jay was probably scared, no, terrified, and was doubting everything he knew. Just like Cole used to. He knew what to do.
"Ok, Jay, you need to listen to me. I know you're terrified. I've been there. The more you panic, the worse you'll get, and you'll probably go full lightning again if you don't calm down." Jay looked at Cole, fear in his eyes.
"Not helping, Cole!"
Oh, boy, maybe the Earth Ninja wasn't the man for the job. "Okay, forget I said that. Just calm down. We're all here, cheering you on. You can do this. Just calm down, focus, and breath. You got this, Jay Walker, you got this. You're still the ninja who saved Nya from a rollercoaster of death, who first did Spinjitzu, who manages to be the bright light in a world full of darkness. I know more than anyone that you are capable of becoming physical again. So, do it, Jay Walker!"
Jay took a deep, wavering breath and closed his eyes. Cole gripped his shoulder, Nya his hand, and Jay's legs gradually became flesh and bone once again. Everyone in the room breathed a sigh of relief, and Nya sat her boyfriend back on the couch. Zane moved out of the way so Cole could sit beside the Master of Lightning.
"Has this happened much?" Cole asked, relieved that Jay was back to normal. Well, as normal as he could probably get, after everything that happened to him. Jay nodded.
"I've only been physical for a couple of hours now, and it's happened twice. Am I going to be like this forever?"
Sensei Wu gave a sad smile. "Yes, Jay. I believe that this is the new you. But, like Cole, you will learn how to control it, and probably be a better ninja, as you are now more closely bonded to your element. This is a blessing in disguise."
Cole put his arm around Jay, " and, I'll be there every step of the way!"
"We all will, my friend!" Zane added. Jay smiled, and leaned into Nya, closing his eyes in peace. He knew two things without a doubt: He was going to get through this, and that he had the best team in the world.
Well, he also knew one more thing.
He was definitely going to keep an eye out for arrows shot by the Serpentine.
7 years later…
A loud scream was heard through the Walker household, waking Jay from his slumber. He groaned, it was two in the morning. He climbed out of bed, quickly, hoping that he wouldn't wake his wife but get to his son fast, all at the same time.
He made his way downstairs, not knowing what was going on. Jaxson Ray Walker never woke up in the middle of the night, unless something was really wrong. That four-year-old was one tough cookie. He definitely got that from Nya.
Jay entered his son's room, noticing a bright blue light coming from the bed. Oh no. Sensei Wu warned them about this…
"Dad! What's going on?" Jaxson sobbed, trying to hold his electricity-turned arm, but failing, only getting a tiny bit shocked himself. Jay sat down beside him, holding the small boy.
"Shhh...it's okay…."
"But Dad! How do I get rid of it? How does it stop?" Jay teared up at his son's cries. He knew they couldn't get rid of it completely, after seven whole years Jay still struggled with always being in his physical form. Randomly, during the night, the day, on missions, whenever Jay got scared or anxious, one of his limbs would turn into lightning. He had gotten used to it, could tame the lightning within seconds, at worst minutes, but this was Jaxson's first time.
Jay felt horrible. Because Jay had turned into lightning for over a month, his elemental heir would have the same issues he has. Of course, his elemental heir was his own son. At least Jay knew exactly what to say, thanks to years of experience and Cole and Nya's constant helping hand.
"You just need to calm down, okay, buddy? Just relax, it's okay, Daddy's right here…."
Jay held Jaxson as he cried, softly kissing his forehead. Slowly but surely, Jaxson's arm became physical again and his tears dried. The boy touched his limb with uncertainty, expecting it to become lightning once again, but it didn't.
"Dad, why did that happen?" Jay sadly smiled at the question, and soon noticed Nya sit beside her son, wrapping him in a hug. Jay continually rubbed Jaxson's back as he contemplated his answer.
"I'll tell you a story. One filled with Serpentine, true love, true friendship, and a whole lot of lightning. Then you will understand."
Well, that's all, folks! Sorry that the chapter was a bit short, I hope it was satisfactory. Thanks for reading!
(P.S, I have decided to NOT do a one shot, as I had previously said, I basically covered all I wanted to cover in this chapter.)
