This here is the second oneshot that I released, with the same plan as MAA. Time to get away from Assassination Classroom, and go onto Deltarune. Time to go for something else entirely. A true fantasy fanfic. I'll also try to make this story a little bit like a Shonen manga, but a book. So, I have a basic idea, one that I formed after binge reading Black Clover, Naruto, My Hero Academia, and Bleach. Let me know what you think. Make sure to vote on my profile after checking out the uncompleted one-shots.
Disclaimer: I don't own Deltarune. Deltarune is owned and created by the immensely talented Toby Fox.
"Helix! Helix! Helix!" a young boy, only seven years old, ran up to a girl the same age. The boy was blonde, slightly tanned with red eyes, and wore a set of white robes with golden outlines. The girl was drastically different. She also had red eyes, but her hair and skin were blue. She wore a black bodysuit and silver armor, a single shoulder guard on her left shoulder, with her right shoulder exposed.
"What is it Lux?"
"Surprise! I have a gift for you!" Lux said happily as he held out a wrapped package. Helix looked at him in surprise.
"You have a present? Why?"
"Why wouldn't I? We're friends, right?" Lux said. Helix stared at him, before reaching out and grabbing the package.
"Lux, why do you consider me a friend? I'm a Darkner. Darkners, we're meant to serve Lightners. I'm basically a servant." Helix said. Lux sighed and bopped her on the head.
"Why is a kid like you thinking like that?" Helix, we're friends because I want to be. I don't want a servant. If you want to act like that, fine. But I won't treat you like that. You're my friend. Now open your present." Lux said irritably. Helix looked down at the present and pulled apart the paper. A blue and purple cloth was inside. She held it up, revealing it to be a shawl. She draped it over her right shoulder as Lux began to talk.
"Do you like it? I made it myself! Since, you know, you only have one shoulder guard, for whatever reason. I also asked a member of the Mana Clan to enchant it so it doesn't wear out and adjusts its size to fit you perfectly." Lux said. Helix was silent, before smiling at Lux.
"I love it, thank you."

Helix stood on the top of the hill where she received the shawl from Lux. She held a wooden sword in her hand, swinging it around. As a Darkner, she was expected to protect Lux in any way possible. So, she trained, trying to become a powerful warrior. Speaking of Lux, he was running up to her, clearly excited. Helix noticed him and stopped her practice to greet him.
"Helix! Look at me!" Lux said. He held his hands up as Helix looked at him, the two now nine years old. Light shone between them. Helix looked at the light in awe.
"You can use magic!" Helix said. Lux held the magic in one hand and began tossing it around.
"Yep! Now, I can do amazing things! I'm going to learn from both the Dragon Clan and the Mana Clan! I'll make spells, weapons, relics, tomes, everything! I might be able to become the Grand Guardian!" Lux boasted. Helix laughed as she sat down.
"Grand Guardian? That's the most powerful of the Dragon Clan Lux. It's much too early to think about that." Helix said. Lux laughed back.
"Helix, dreams are what makes the world move. If we don't start now, how will we shape our futures?" Lux said. Helix fell silent, before smiling again.
"Then I'll be the best swordmaster of the Darkners." she said. Lux nodded with his signature grin.
"Alright! That's a fitting title of the Darkner Shadow of the Grand Guardian!" Lux declared.
"Remember though. Just because we're counterparts, doesn't mean our skills will be the same. Make sure you keep up Lux." Helix teased. Lux frowned as this.
"Hey! I'll become so strong, you'll have to be the one keeping up with me!" Lux said indignantly. Helix looked up at him.
"Heh. The moment you become stronger than me is the moment I will marry you." Helix said. Lux fell silent at this, a blush spreading across his cheeks.
"...wow. I didn't know you can make a joke Helix!" Lux said teasingly. Helix giggled, a sound that Lux never heard from her.
"Lux, I don't make jokes." she said as she got up and ran. Lux stood still, before chasing after her.
"Wait, you really meant that?! You'll really marry me?! Helix! Answer me!"

"You sure you don't want to come with me?" Lux asked. He and Helix were standing at the top of the hill again, this time both eleven years old. Lux was dressed in traveler's clothes, while Helix was dressed in her usual armor and bodysuit. The shawl was still tied around her shoulder. Lux had decided to go to the Mana Clan to train and learn under someone who can teach him how to enchant and brew. And despite inviting her, Helix decided to stay with the Darkners she grew up with and continue learning how to swordfight.
"I do, but, if we want to accomplish our dreams, then we can't stay with each other. In order to really push ourselves, we shouldn't know what the other is doing. At least, that's what I think." Helix said. Lux nodded. They looked off to the side, where the sun was setting. The hill was basked in a golden glow.
"Helix?"
"Yes?"
"If I become stronger than you, will you really marry me?" Helix looked at him with an amused look.
"You still remember that?"
"Yeah! I mean, the girl I like says that she'll marry me when I become stronger than her, how can a boy forget that?" Lux said indignantly. The two blushed when they realized that Lux had basically confessed. Helix slapped him gently on the chest.
"Of course. I don't say jokes, remember?" Helix said. Lux was silent before smiling at her.
"Well then, I'll make sure that when we see each other again, I'll be so much stronger, you'll agree to marry me on the spot!" Lux boasted. Helix laughed at her Lightner counterpart's antics.
"If you don't, I won't marry you." she said teasingly. Lux stood up and grabbed her, pulling her up. Helix squeaked slightly as he pulled her against his chest.
"Then I'll make sure you marry me. And I'll make sure that you're happy with me." Lux said. They stared into each other's eyes, before Lux's cheeks reddened, unable to keep up his facade any longer. He let her go before turning away. Helix stared at him before giggling.
"That was so silly!" she laughed. Lux spluttered. Helix smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'll be waiting. You better not disappoint me." she said. Lux stared at her before smiling. Helix sat back down, facing the horizon. Lux turned and walked down the hill, where a man was waiting to take him across the continent to the Mana Clan.

"Grand Guardian!" the eighteen year old Lux looked up as one of his Royal Guards burst in.
"What is it?"
"The Darkners! They have turned!" the Guard yelled. Lux froze.
"What?!" he ran out. All over the town, Darkners and Lightners were battling. Lux gritted his teeth as he launched himself forward, vaulting over the guard rail. He spotted his fiance Helix dashing around, but she wasn't attacking the Lightners, but rather defending them, knocking the rogue Darkners out. She wasn't the only one, as there were dozens of Darkners defending their counterparts. Even so, the Darkners were overwhelming the Lightners. Even though each Lightners has the same potential and power of their Darkner counterparts, not every Lightner learned how to fight, and only a small amount know how to use magic.
"Lux! Are you okay?" Helix asked urgently as she dashed over to his side, her sword Lament at her side. Lux nodded.
"Are you?"
"I'm fine. But there is bad news! The rogue Darkners have managed to create a ritual that allows them to kill their counterparts without being killed themselves!" Helix informed him.
"Then we have to make sure that we stop them!" Lux said. He became surrounded by magic, creating a giant dome that engulfed the city. He and Helix rushed around, attacking the rebel Darkners. When the dome fell, the Darkners were captured, and the ones still loyal were tending to the injured. Lux looked around as Helix walked up to him.
"Lux, what should we do with them?"
"I don't know yet. But we should be able to think of something." Lux said. He turned to the traitors.
"Who led this operation? Why did this start?" he demanded. One Darkner began to laugh.
"It doesn't matter. Soon, this world, will burn." he said. A roar split the skies, causing Lux and Helix to whirl around.
"The Dragon King! Something must be happening to him!" Helix said.
"The Dragon King? What can possibly-?" Lux began. Suddenly, a winged beast swooped down and shot a beam of magic energy towards them. Lux and Helix both held up their hands and created a massive shield. The two magics collided, creating a bright light. Lux and Helix both cried out as they were sent flying. Lux struggled to stand and looked up. A giant dragon was flying down to the town, landing on his castle. Lux stood up and looked at it.
"Who is that? Where did they come from?" Lux gritted his teeth as he grabbed the hilt of the sword on his belt. He pulled out a sword with a dark blade and a scarlet jewel on the crossguard. The sword shone and became larger and turned into a massive cleaver. Lux grabbed it with both hands and swung it as hard as he could, blocking the next breath attack. Helix covered her face as the wind pressure from the two sent many flying. Lux roared as he managed to knock the blast away, redirecting it to a mountain in the distance. The blast exploded, pulling Lux's attention to it. Lux gaped as the giant pillar of smoke disappeared, revealing nothing but thin air.
"This dragon's power." he muttered as he looked back at the dragon. He burst out into a smile.
"This should be fun." Lux laughed. A golden eye opened on his forehead, and two silver disks appeared on his shoulder blades. The disks opened and let out a pair of large wings. The eye shone with a bright light as he raised his sword, letting it change into an even bigger sword.
"I've been wanting to test this entire set out. Come! Face the power of my Ultimate Weapons! The Runes of Osegath!" Lux yelled. The dragon roared back in its own challenge and flung itself towards Lux, who flew towards it in return. They collided, creating a giant dome of light.

"Kris? Kris, wake up!" Toriel said as the goat mom reached for the window blinds and pulled them open. Kris opened his eyes as he laid in bed. Toriel sighed.
"Come down when you're ready. We might still be able to make it to school on time." she said. She walked out and closed his door. Kris pushed the covers off and stood up a few seconds later. He went over to his drawer and pulled it open. He pulled off his green and yellow sweater and brown pants. He pulled out an identical set of clothes and put them on, tossing the old ones onto his bed. He opened another drawer, pulling out a sheathed knife and tucking it into his clothes.
"Kris! Hurry!" Toriel called up. Kris rolled his eyes as he walked out. A minute or so later found Kris walking out the house, where his mother was waiting by the car. He got in as his mother did the same. Kris leaned back in his seat as he waited for them to reach the school. Toriel rambled on about something, but he wasn't listening. He perked up when she began talking about Asriel, his older brother.
"I see I have your attention now." Toriel said teasingly. Kris narrowed his eyes behind his bangs and scoffed as he looked out the window.
"Come now, don't be like that." Toriel said. She looked back out the windshield. "Azzy said that he would be back sooner than he thought, with a friend. He wants to introduce you. I said you might not like it, but he insisted." Kris scoffed in his head. Toriel was a nice mom, but she didn't always keep his wants in mind, believing herself to be in the right more often than not.
They pulled up in front of the school where the two got out. Toriel took his hand and led him inside. Once inside, she turned and hugged Kris. he let his mother hug him, hugging her slightly back. Toriel pulled away and smiled at Kris. He nodded to her before turning away and heading down the hallway. He walked up to the classroom at the end and pushed open the door.
"O-oh! Kris! I didn't think you were coming in today too." his teacher Alphys said. She nodded to the class. "Go on and take a seat." Kris ignored her and instead walked over to Noelle Holiday. She was a female reindeer monster, with tan fur and blonde hair. The two of them have been something like friends growing up.
"Hey Kris! Do you need a pencil? Do you want the candy cane one or the one with lights?" Noelle smiled at him. Kris stared at her, his eyes still covered by his bangs. "Just a normal one? Okay." she dug into her bag and pulled out a regular, yellow No. 2 pencil and handed it to Kris. Kris looked at her as he took it.
"No problem. Just make sure to return it." Noelle said. Kris nodded as he walked away. Berdly leaned over to Noelle.
"How in the heck do you know what that freak is thinking?" he snarked not so quietly. Alphys frowned in disapproval, but since Berdly's parents were so high in power at the school, she couldn't say anything. Kris didn't care. He did in the past, but with how much Berdly does it, it's more pathetic than it is offensive. He looked up as the door was slammed open. A large, purple lizard monster walked in. Like Kris, she had hair over her eyes. She had torn jeans, a large coat, and a white shirt. Susie looked over the silent, tense class and teacher, before setting her eyes on Kris.
"Am I late?" she said finally.
"N-n-n-n-no! Not at all Susie! Ah, just, take your seat behind Kris." Alphys said nervously, pressing against the wall. Susie grunted and walked over to the desk behind Kris. She poked him in greeting.
"Hey nerd." Kris nodded. She sat down. Alphys looked at her in slight fear before turning to the blackboard. As she began rambling about something, Kris took a piece of paper from his desk and began doodling. Susie looked over his shoulder after a few minutes.
"Who's that?" she asked. Kris looked down. He drew someone. He was male, with slicked down hair and bangs framing his face. He had a handsome face, with round eyes and a small scar on his chin. Kris shrugged. He put it away and took out a new sheet of paper. He started to draw someone else. Susie looked up, bored. She reached over and grabbed Kris, pulling him out of his seat and dragging him to the door.
"U-uh, S-Susie?! W-what are you d-doing?" Alphys stammered.
"I'm bored! I'm skipping. And since I can get along with Kris more than most of these losers, I'm bringing him along." Susie grunted. She dragged him out. Kris simply crossed his arms as his legs dragged across the ground. He opened his eyes and smirked. Noelle was following them, walking silently.
He knew that Noelle had a crush on Susie, but for her to skip class? Well, if he had to sit next to Berdly of all people, he would skip without even hesitating. Susie was oblivious as she dragged Kris through the halls. They stopped in front of a closet. Specifically the storage closet. Kris smiled to himself as he remembered Ralsei and Lancer. Lancer was like a little brother. And Ralsei was like how Asriel was when they were younger. He loved his brother, but he missed how close they were. Azzy promised that they two would become closer again when he came back, so that was nice. He snapped back to attention as Susie finally noticed Noelle.
"Hey, reindeer! What are you doing here?" Susie said. Noelle squeaked and poked her fingers together.
"Well, uh, Ms Alphys was, uh, she was worried that you, uh, that you'll do something bad, so, uh…"
"She sent you to, what, chaperone me?" Susie snarked. She turned to the closet. "Whatever. If you want to come along, then fine. Come on Kris." Susie dragged him inside. Noelle followed them into the closet. They stood in the closet. Susie frowned.
"Uh, this closet is smaller than it was yesterday." she said. Kris bobbed his head.
"Uh, Kris says that it's because I'm inside with you guys." Noelle said. Susie looked at her incredulously.
"You know what he's thinking?"
"I've always been able to do that." Noelle said.
"Well, whatever. But, it's not because she's here too. There's a wall here. One that was not here yesterday." Susie said. Kris frowned and stood. He pushed past Susie and felt the wall. He punched it and shook his hand. He turned and looked at Noelle.
"Close the door? Are you sure?" Noelle asked in concern.
"How do you know that's what he wants?!" Susie demanded. Noelle reached behind her and pulled the door closed. Nothing happened. Kris frowned and pushed past the two girls. He pushed the door back open. The other two came out behind him.
"That's weird. Why can't we go to the Dark Realm?" Susie scratched her head. Noelle looked at Susie.
"The Dark Realm? What is that?"
"It's a long story. What do you, Kris? Hey Kris! Where are you going?!" Susie called after the teen, who was running down the hall.
"Kris! Don't run!" Noelle called as the two monsters hurried after him. Kris burst out the doors. Noelle sprinted forward and passed Kris stopping him by holding up her hands.
"Kris, we can't leave the school." Noelle said firmly. Kris looked at her. "What do you mean, 'watch me'?"
"Seriously, how can you tell?!" Susie repeated. Kris leapt high above Noelle and landed behind her. Or, he would've, if Noelle hadn't dashed to where he would land and stood in front of him. Kris frowned and flicked her on the nose. Noelle squeaked and rubbed it, not noticing Kris taking off down the road. Susie scoffed and ran after Kris, Noelle realizing what happened a little bit later and running after them. Kris continued to run, with Susie and Noelle falling behind a little later.
"How, huh, how long can he, uh, run?!" Susie demanded. Noelle simply plopped on the ground. She was faster than Kris, but the human could run for much longer. Speaking of whom, Kris continued to run, and eventually made it home. He breathed heavily for a few seconds before pushing himself into the house. He walked up to his room and turned to the cage in the corner of his room. The cage was battered, and dented. But what made this cage special was what was inside.
Floating in the middle of the cage, was a red, glowing heart. Kris sat down in front of it, glaring at it. The heart pulsed. Magic poured off it, forming a face. Opposite of the red magic, the face was blue, with blue hair. It was the form that Kris took during his quest into the Dark Realm. Only, it wasn't quite him.
"Are you willing to listen now?" the face said irritably. Kris glared at it. The face sighed.
"I know that you're mad. I took over your body, and controlled it like a puppet. I took away your choice. But you have to understand, I was there for a very long time. I was desperate." the face said. Kris simply stared at it.
"Kris? Are you in here?" Noelle called as she came into his room. Susie poked her head in.
"Are you sure we can come in without knocking?" She asked.
"It's okay, Kris doesn't change until the morning." Noelle said.
"That's not hygienic." the head commented. Noelle and Susie froze. They turned to the corner, where Kris and the head were in.
"Kris, what did Toriel say about you bringing home a decapitated head again?" Noelle deadpanned.
"Wait, again?!" Susie whirled around. Kris shrugged.
"What do you mean she was possessing your body yesterday?" Noelled demanded.
"She was what?!" Susie interrupted. Kris nodded once.
"You guys entered the Dark Realm and she entered your body, resulting in you only having semi-control throughout your quest to destroy the Eastern Dark Fountain and save the Darkner World?" Noelle summed up.
"How did you get that from a nod?" Susie sweatdropped.
"Kris, you're making this up." Noelle said.
"No, this is all true." the Head said.
"Wait, so you really did? You really took over his body? Why? Who are you?! And how are you connected to Kris?!" Susie pointed a finger at the head.
"My name is Helix. And Kris the reincarnation of my fiance Lux from a long time ago." Helix said. Kris blinked and looked at his ring finger.
And there we are! Kris is the reincarnation of the Grand Guardian Lux. But what is a Grand Guardian? What does this mean for Kris? Who's the friend of Asriel? And why can't Susie and Kris enter the Dark Realm? One way to find out. Follow and favorite this fanfic so that when I finally update this, you'll be able to find out. As per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
