I do not own Nightwing or any other DC characters.

Ch 1 Nightwing

Pain. It was all I could feel. It's like someone took Negan's bat from the Walking Dead and smashed it right at my skull. I began to hold my head, trying to ease the pain, but it was too much, causing me to scream in pain.

"ARG!" I screamed while thrashing around and causing me to...fall down?

I opened my eyes and was greeted with a wooden floor, weird I never had a wooden floor. I looked around what I assumed was my room and noticed a lot of different things. How do I know? Well I don't have a huge window in my room which shows that I'm way up from the ground. I began to feel scared, walking up somewhere I don't know or remember how I got here can only mean one thing.

Kidnaping.

But why would someone let me sleep in a bed, which is in good condition by the way, without being tied or strapped to a chair. I began to walk around trying to find out where the hell am I? As I was walking, I stepped on something that felt like leather. I looked down and saw a black shirt with a blue bird in the middle.

…..

Ok now I began to panic, being kidnaped by a guy who has a Nightwing costume is really worrying. I was about to dash out of the room and try to find the exit when I saw someone with me in the room. I halted all actions, and stared at the stranger with me. He had a light blue shirt and black shorts. We were both still for a couple of minutes, then I slowly moved my left leg, but then I noticed the guy was doing the same thing. I paused for a second and slowly brought my right arm up, and the guy did the exact same thi- I'm facing a mirror, aren't I?

But still, why the hell do I look different?

I slowly walked over to the mirror and took a good look at myself. I had short black hair, smooth skin with a very handsome face, not that I wasn't handsome before fyi.

But what caught me were my eyes, they were blue, pure blue, almost like the color of the ocean.

Then I turned my head once more to look at the Nightwing costume I found on the ground. No. No way, this is impossible, this could all be a dream. Yeah that's right, a dream.

Ring Ring

I turned my head towards the source of the noise and saw a phone on the bed stand at the right side of the bed.

I walked to the bed stand and slowly picked up the phone. I stared at the caller and all it said was "B". I pressed answer and brought the phone to my ear and waited.

A man with a gruff voice spoke to me

"Dick I need you at Gotham tonight."

After hearing these few words, I became still as a statue. I don't think this is a dream anymore. It felt too real.

"Argh!"

I dropped the phone and fell to one knee while I held my head with both hands as I felt the same pain I felt earlier, but something was different, I was seeing things, no remembering things.

Faces I never saw yet knew them by heart, places I never been yet visited there a lot, events I never partook yet I felt like I've done it almost everyday.

Then came something I always remembered hard.

My parents.

How they were swinging from one trapeze to another, how amazing their performances were every night…..

How their ones broke as they fell towards death's cold embrace.

Then the pain went away. I got back up from the ground. I remember everything.

Holy shit, i'm...i'm...Dick Grayson, the Dick Grayosn!

So the guy I was talking to earlier was "Oh crap, the phone!"

I quickly grabbed the phone and answered back.

"Oh yeah sure, I'll be there no probs."

"Dick are you ok? You were just screaming."

"Yeah I just stumped my toe."

"Hmm, alright I will leave you then."

The phone call ended and I let out a huge sigh I didn't know I had. Great, now Bruce Wayne the freakin 'Batman wants me at Gotham tonight, heh he didn't even tell me what time, yet I already know when to meet him I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to that feeling.

But still how the hell did I get here. I somehow woke up in a fictional universe, with no memory of how I got here and waking up in someone else's body.

Wait am I me or am I Dick Grayson, because I really don't know. God this feels like some sort of fanfiction. A guy wakes up in a new world with a stranger's body and goes on many adventures, ahh just thinking about it makes me feel like my head is about to explode.

Yet at the same time, I kind of feel giddy.

Batman is real, being reincarnated in the DC universe as Dick Grayson, my favorite hero! This all Is just...well kind of scary. What the hell am I saying, I feel giddy? I'm in the DC universe with a lot of op guys, as well as notorious criminals and evil organisations that are after Dick Grayson, the body who I am currently inhabiting, or I am Grayson, but with memories of someone else. Yeah best not not think about that now. If I know my fanfic logic, it means that I'll probably find my answers later on.

Wait, I don't know which part of DC am I in right now? Is it the comics, the Young Justice, CW, or… all of them! Well right now I don't know, hopefully I can find my answers when I meet with B tonight. Ok, all that's left for me to do is just find out where the hell did I leave my other half of the costume.

Gotham City

Wow, right now i'm just jumping from roof to roof with amazing agility and parkour skills that I never had in my other life. I finally reached the top of Wayne Industries and noticed nobody there. He's probably right behind me.

"You're late."

Ahh yes the same line I keep hearing every time, despite it being my first time hearing it in person ever since I woke up in Dick Grayson's body. I turned to face Batman and smiled, trying to contain myself from geeking out.

"Good to see you to B."

All he did was grunted and continued.

"Two-Face and his men have taken over the GCPD and taken some officers hostage."

I nodded as I listened to him continue while being curious as to why he called me to meet him. He doesn't need me for Two-Face since he basically handles him everyday, might have been something else than Two-Face came along, and since I'm here, he asked for my assistance so we can finish things faster and get back to whatever he needed me for.

Wow, I just guessed all after Batman's sentence, I mean anyone can guess that, but after waking up in the DC universe with someone else's body, then meeting Batman, you tend to have trouble thinking for a while, yet I guessed all that while being calm. For some reason this feels like a Monday for me. Cant say i'm surprised.

"You handle the snipers on the roof, while I handle the guards down, once you're done, wait for my signal before you enter.

"You got it boss."

5 minutes later

I'm now standing on a roof of a building near the GCPD, I can see some of Two-Faces goons up on the roof, carrying M40 rifles, how I knew that could be because of my new memories, well either way I have to take down these guys so that Bats can have an easier time taking out the guards near the entrance without being spotted by Two-Faces snipers. I took out my grappling hook and aimed it right at the GCPD roof that was further away and unoccupied by any of the snipers then I pressed the tiger and felt as my body became light as I was pulled by the grappling hook onto the roof of the GCPD. Once there, I immediately scanned the roof, spotting all the snipers there. There were three of them, one was on the front of the building, while the other two were guarding the east and the west. Luckily no one was guarding the south, allowing me to sneak in closer without them noticing. First I went to the guy guardian the east. I delivered a quick karate chop on the back of his neck, knocking him out instantly. I quickly grabbed his body with one arm while grabbing his weapon with the other and pulled him away from the edge of the roof then dropping the unconscious thug before moving to the other thug guarding the west and repeating the same action. Now all that's left is the guy that was guarding the north. As I got closer to him, I paused myself for a second, then smiled. I tapped the guy's shoulder causing him to turn with a look of confusion before delivering a powerful blow to his face knocking out cold, something I've always wanted to do. I then grabbed his body and weapon before falling down, and placed him away from the edge.

I then pressed on my ear com, notifying Batman of my end.

"Snipers cleared."

I waited for a couple of seconds before I heard a reply.

"Guards cleared, be ready to move on my signal."

"Copy."

I replied then hurrying to the small roof windows I spotted on the west side of the roof, Gotham has a lot of these surprisingly.

Finally reaching there, I stared down through the window and saw many police officers on the ground, with their hands tied behind their backs and many of Two-Faces standing right behind them with their barrels pointed right at them.

And on the center of the display I had through the small window was Commissioner Gorden on his knees with his hands tied up behind his back just like the rest of the officers below and in front of the commissioner was the man himself.

Two-Face.

He was sitting backwards on a chair with a revolver on one hand and a coin on the other.

"That can't be good." I thought to myself.

My body was shaking, eager to jump in and lunge on Two-Face before he were to throw his coin. But I waited for Batman's signal. With all this tension happening, I heard Two-Face speak.

"Heads or tails commissioner?"

Gorden looked up, showing his beaten and bloodied face and spat at Dent.

"Screw you, you freak. Stop playing these games and get it over with."

"Heh, eager aren't you?"

As Harvey Dent flicked his coin, everything seemed to slow down, then I heard it.

"Now!"

Everything slowed down as the wall behind Two-Face's men exploded, everyone was thrown away by the force and were thrown forward by the force. Batman came from the wall and I came from the top, breaking the roof's glass as I ascended below. Everyone closed their eyes or covered their faces from the explosion and the shattered glass. As the guards slowly got back up, we rushed to attack them. Bats charged to one of Two-Faces men and delivered a hard punch, knocking him out, then he performed a butterfly kick on another goon near him then went on to the next one. I jumped in between two of the goons, I gave a palm strike to one of them and then delivered an elbow strike on the other guards solar plexus, knocking the air right out of him. Then I jumped while holding one of the guards neck with both my hands while holding the other with both my feet then twisting myself along with the two guys then I let go and landed in a crouching position while the two guys fell to the ground. Me and Bats dealt with the rest of the guards easily. As I knocked out another one of Two-Face's henchmen, I heard a cocking of a gun, I turned to the source of the noise and saw Two-Face whose face had cuts and blood from the glass and pointing a gun a t Batman's direction. Bats was dealing with two of Two-Faces men and didn't notice the guy being pointed at his direction. I had no time to take out a Wing-Ding and throw it at the gun so instead I jumped in the way.

BANG!

Batman who was holding an unconscious guard looked at the source of noise and all he saw was me taking a bullet for him. I dropped to the ground clenching my lower left abdomen. And here I thought that my costume was bulletproof. I was losing a lot of blood and was starting to blackout. Sure it hurt like hell, but for some reason I was calm as if being shot for me is considered the norm, despite it being "my" first time getting shot. As my vision began getting darker, I looked at Two-Face and saw him on the ground while B was on top of him beating the crap out of him. Then I blacked out.

….

I slowly opened my eyes and noticed that I wasn't in the police station any more. I examined my surroundings and from what I could get from my new memories is that this is the Batcave. Like any DC fan I would've geeked out like a crazy fab boy, but after what happened today, I had no energy to do any of that. Speaking of today, what happened to the hostages. I slowly tried to get up only to grunt in pain as the place where I had been shot still burned. I felt a hand slowly push me down. I looked at who was there with me and saw B still in his costume but without the cowl. Wow, hearing it in the comics is one thing but seeing him in person, well they weren't kidding when they said that he was really handsome.

"You've been shot in your lower abdomen, thankfully the bullet hit nothing serious, but you should take it easy for a couple of days." Bruce said.

"And the hostages?"

"Are all ok, so don't worry."

I looked at where I had been shot and noticed that I was shirtless and had bandages wrapped all around my abdomen.

"Thanks I guess, for you know saving my life again." I replied having remembered how many times Batman saved Dicks lives in the comics.

Bruce was silent for a few seconds before replying back to me.

"Listen, I appreciate what you did today for me, but if the bullet hit any organ, you could have died today, so next time please be careful, after all we are humans."

From the way he was speaking to me, anybody would assume that he was scolding me for being reckless in the field. But to me he sounded like a worried parent, but without any facial expressions or emotions, which kind of looked a little bit creepy. But still nice.

I smiled and told him.

"If I had the chance to go back before Two-Face was going to shoot, I would've still taken a bullet for you."

Bruce closed his eyes and let out a sigh, he let out a small smile and said.

"Be thankful that Alfred isn't here today or he would've given you a lecture about coming to Gotham without getting shot on the first day."

"Ah if such a thing were possible." I replied.

Bruce let out a small chuckle and patted my shoulder.

"You can stay here in the manor for a couple of days until you feel better, if you need anything else just call me.

I nodded and watched as Bruce left the cave. I slowly went back to lay down at the medical bed, yes the Batcave has a medical bay, and closed my eyes and revoked everything that has happened so far.

I had no memory of how I got in the DC universe or how I woke up in Dick Grayson's body. I still remembered my other life, or now previous life where I lived in a world where the DC universe only existed as comic books or tv shows. What did someone from the DC world bring me here and why in Dicks body? Was there a purpose behind all of this? Is this a test, curiosity, or all some kind of sick joke.

Ahh, all this thinking is giving me a headache.

But still something bothers me, it's not about who put me here or why, but it's what Bruce said to me.

"After all we are humans." I whispered to myself.

I live in a world where superpowers, magic, advanced technology, and many other things are considered the norm.

So why settle being human, when I can be so much more?

And done. Finally this has been a project I wanted to do for a while. If you guys have any info on how to get powers, it'll help with the story. Until next time, Adios!
