Twilight: Sunrise

Chapter 2: The Unexpected.

Due to the preparation for sign me up for school, after the completion of everything. It was third period. I strolled through the hallways and looked down at the pieces of paper in my hand. One was my schedule, the other was my late pass. The office gave it to me to give to my teacher. Supposedly you needed a slip to be forgiven for tardiness. School must be taken seriously, I said in my dads voice in my head as I started judging the stupidity of the late pass. The school was a lot more open than I thought it would be. An open courtyard to sit and eat lunch. A lot of open hallways to get into your classes. Outdoor classes seemed to be a thing here. Looking at the map to find my class I ran into a kid. He had his back toward me when I ran into him. How strange I didn't even see him there. That never happens to me, I catch everything. He turned and said "Ouch. You okay?" Taking a good look at him he seemed strange to me. He had a scar on the side of his right eye brow. One blue eye, one hazel and green. He had freckles on his face and dark brown curly hair. Straight teeth, and a decent smile. "I'm fine, Renesmee." I shot my hand out at him, he took my invitation and shook my hand. His hands were hot. I was confused. The only other people with body heat like that, that I knew of were me and the werewolves. Jake and his pack. Back in Forks. "I sorry I ran into you like that, today my first day." He looked at me, nonchalantly. "You're the new girl everyone's been raving over. How pleasurable it is to meet you." Very polite. This kid seems different. He wasn't even drooling over me. Not that that's a bad thing. It's kind of awesome he isn't. Not used to that, but this kids definitely different. "I'm sorry, I didn't get your name?" "Michael, my apologies." He smiled. Looking down at my hands he seen what I was holding. "Uh,hu - class schedule, know where your going?" "Not a clue," I shrugged. "If you'd like, I would be more than happy to show you the way." Michael said. "Thank you so much. That's would be cool." "Sure thing, where you from anyways?" He didn't seem to stutter of even mind my features. He treated me like I was a normal student. Is everyone going to be like this here? If so, this is going to be even more amazing than I could of ever imagined. I could finally see how it felt to be a normal teen. And mom and dad thought this wasn't a good idea when I first told them about it. What was I all nervous that. "Urrruhmm." "Oh, sorry, I'm from Forks, Washington!" He smiled. "Never heard of it." He said "It's pretty small." I replied. Just than we turned left into a new hallway. "Ah. Why'd you move? Well, move here in the middle of the semester." Michael asked. Well because I'm a freak and have to hide the fact that I grow way too fast and you humans will never understand. Or maybe, I had to learn how not to give into the desires for human blood. Maybe even learning to ignore that burning hot cork branding iron in my throat when I'm around humans. My thoughts raced on but I shrugged. "You know, life. My sister got a job out here. Nothing big." I trailed off back into thought, smiling at my idiotic thinking. "Ah, the old new life new me. Got it." He said. I smiled. "Yeah. Pretty much." Practically cutting me off he pointed to the room that we just stopped short of and said "Alas, your room awaits." Thanking him he said "Anytime." And walked off. I wonder if I'll see him often in school. I took a deep breath and sighed. Here goes nothing.

I opened the door and my teachers mouth dropped a little but he composed his face quickly. The class was still for a couple seconds as well. All eyes on me. I heard a couple people gasp and some fidgeting in their seats. I handed the paper with my late pass and my schedule to the teacher to show this was the class I was assigned to. My teacher welcomed me and ask if I wanted to introduce myself. "Hello, the names Renesmee Cullen, but you can call me Nessie for short." I heard someone cough, "no one cares". She said.It was a girl. Sitting all the way in the back, her legs intertwined in some dude, I'm guessing her boyfriend. Chomping on her gum she gave me this look like yeah I said it so what with a stupid grin on her face. I decided to ignore her. Her boyfriend on the other hand seemed to be directing his focus on me like everyone else. How sad. Anyways, I went to go find a seat. All the boys in the class seemed eager for me to sit next to them. All pushing either their bags, or the book even their pencils to the side as an invitation to sit beside them. I sat next to a girl with glasses. Freckles covering her whole entire face. Glasses a little too big to match her face. She had red hair. Curly, it covered most of her face. She wore a jean dress that match something close to overalls kind of and an off white thermal shirt underneath. "Freaks sitting together, how sweet." The girl that made the rude comment before said loud enough for the people in the back to hear. A couple of people laughed this time. "Hello." I said to the girl. "What's your name?" "Oh, me?" She looked at me kind of confused, kind of stunned. "Yes." I said smiling at her. From the looks of it not many people talked to her. How sad. I wanted to change that today. "Nana, the nnnnnnammmmesssss Nana." She stutters. That's awesome. "Nice to meet you Nana." She smiled and looked at me almost like she was measuring my face. She struggled to turn to look at the teacher as he taught. Science class. Temperature and space was the lesson. We would be paring in twos for the next few weeks, I ask Nana if she's be my partner and she accepted. That made me happy. She asked to see my schedule and to my surprise we shared the next class together. "Gym!" I said out loud. Nana smiled at me, "I'm guessing you like gym by how you just rrrrrrrrrrreactttttttted." "Nah, I'm just happy to start a new school, honestly. Do you like gym?" She stumbled over while we were walking. I caught her but her books fell to the ground. I helped her pick them up. " I'm clumsy as you just witnessed, I hate gym." I giggled. She reminded me of stories I heard about when my mom was human. She hated gym too. The whole, coordination thing wasn't my moms strong suit back than. "Oh okay. Well, it can't be that bad." She shrugged. "I survive". Nana said. We walked into the gym, walking past the basketball court and heading to the locker room. She got changed and I waited. I'm sure the teacher would cut me slack, it's the first day for me anyways. Teach probably would like to teach me the ground rules first. Gym was okay. All the other classes seemed to be the same. Couple of jealous mean girls here and there. Guys gazing. Everything was pretty... repetitive. Sighing at that thought. Lunch came around. Finally! I was starving. Not to my surprise most of the mean girls I witnessed today ended up being friends with each other. I rolled my eyes. "Course." I walked through the cafeteria line and spotted Nana. She smiled when she seen me and waved with one hand the other holding her tray. One of the girls walked past her knocking it down and say "Opps." While she kept walking away. Proceeding to say "Freak Show." And the people around her started laughing. Nana reached down to start picking her food up and I was by her side in a minute. "You shouldn't let them bully you like that." I told her. She shrugged and said "I'm used to it, doesn't bother me much anymore, but thank for helping me with my food." She smiled at me. "Of course." The girls were standing above us when one of the girls decided to step on Nanas fingers. Struggling to get free she winced at the pain. "Cut it out!" I surpressed a growl. "I'm warning you!" The girls started laughing while the girl closest to me, the one stepping on Nanas finger said. "Warning me, ha! And what are you going to do little Freshman?!" Laughing loudly. A crowd started forming around us now. All I could think about was moms voice in my head, do not draw any unnecessary attention to yourself. Do you hear me Renesmee Carlie Cullen? Desperate to prove I can handle this, I leaned down ignoring the girl and tried to help Nana up. The girls kept on laughing. "A freak helping a freak." I continued to ignore them. "Come on Nana, lets go. I'll buy you some more food." "No your not, I'll knock that one down too." The girls bursted our in more laughter. The teachers where now trying to get through the crowd. I guess they were trying to get a closer look at what was going on. "Best you learn how to follow status quo around here, before I have to put you in your place, new girl." She poked my side and that's when I lost it. All I seen was red. Who the hell did she think she was putting her hands on me. I could break her little sckrony spaghetti arms with a flicker. She had no idea what I was capable of. I picked my leg up ever so slightly and tapped her with me toes. She flew. The whole crowd gasped and screams erupted. "Don't ever put your hands on me again, Kay." I smirked as the girl held back tears. I think she was definitely more embarrassed than hurt. "Not so tough now are you big guy?" As I spoke the teachers had their eyes on me I knew what time is what. My parents would be called and I would be sitting in the office. My parents where going to kill me. I know it. I sighed and allowed the teachers to guide me to the office. Before I left I handed Nana my tray that was untouched and told her to eat my food. This whole school things gonna be harder than I thought.
