Twilight: Sunrise
Chapter 3: Deception
Sitting in the front office. I was swearing bullets. Terrified when my parents found out. I know they loved me, but that still won't save me from my sudden death that's coming soon in the near future. Surely, they're going to tell me they're pulling me out of school. They probably think I still can't handle it. They probably think I'm not mature enough. Man, I really screwed up big time. Stay low key. Don't draw attention to yourself. Keep quiet. My first day and already I failed. How could I don't it differently though. What else should I have done. Let those girls continue to bully Nana. Let them put hands on me. I shifted in my seat a bit. Angry. I was not leaving this school without a fight. I meant figuratively. Mom and Dad would first have to hear me out. I could just stand by and watch injustice. I'd try to ask for advice and smooth it over that way. Convince them, this can be a lesson and a learning stepping stone do better myself. I smirked. Yeah, that might work. Can't runaway form every problem my mom always told me when I was younger. There's things we have to face. Trailing in to the office while I was waiting to be called, Michael was in a conversation with another boy. "We can't protect everyone, Michael. Remember there's always a reason." Michaels fave was focused on his lips. "Hey Michael." They both turned in my direction. "Her, Re-nesss-meee, right? Seeming to ask if he got the pronunciation right more than the name itself. "Yup, good job on remembering." The guy next to him grabbed Michaels face, and redirected him back to their previous conversation. How rude I thought. He didn't marvel at my features either. He didn't even bother to introduce himself. What was with that guy I thought. "Renesmee Cullen." one of the counselors called for me. "Nessie". I repeated. "Nessie," she said. "Right this way." Turning to look at the boys she said. "Can I help you guys with anything?." Michael smiled and said "no Ma'am, we have an appointment with the Principal. Thank you ever so much." So polite. The other kid seemed to be a little Ansty. Squamish even. Like he was trying to get to his destination faster than it was allowing him to. Weird. "Right this way, Nessie." I followed as I was told. "You seem like a bright girl, it's your first day and fighting is not prohibited in this school. We will have to call your guardians, and let them know the unfortunate events that has transpired here today." I sighed. "I understand. This will never happen again." My heart was racing. I knew I was in for hell on earth when my parents received the news. I wish there was something I could do to avoid them knowing. But I knew when a situation was hopeless. I could only hope for the bests. I watched as the counselor started dialing digits on her office phone. The phone rang and my mothers musical voice answered with a "Hello, this is Mrs. Cullen." My heart felt as if it was going to burst out my chest, I could hear the questioning within my mother's hello, she knew something was up. "Hello, Mrs. Cullen, this is Ms. Jones from, Birmingham high. I wanted to inform you that your daughter was involved in a fight today." That's it, I was ready to bult and be the first runaway hybrid this world has ever seen. My mother and father was definitely going to kill me. What was I thinking. "Oh... oh my, is the other child alright?" My mother ask with more concern for the other person involved in the incident, me in a fight with a human, my mother knew my odds were pretty great in that fight. She had nothing to worry when it came to physical damage on her indestructible daughter and I knew all type of fighting it was possible things to dad. Good ol' Edward Cullen. "Yes, the other child is doing just fine." The counselors eyebrows was shaped with a "V" of concern on the top of her forehead, she seemed a little bit confused as to my mothers concern for the other child and not the concern of her owns. "Great, I will be there in 10 minutes. I am so sorry for my sisters behavior. This will not happen again." My mother hung up the phone. The counselor seem to have her mouth still open still in the mist of a conversation that had abruptly ended. I do not even think she knew that my mother hung up already. She said a "Hello, Mrs. Cullen. Are you still there?" Looking at her phone than me, than her phone again repeating herself two more times before she completely put her phone down. I knew my mother was rushing her. I really did it this time. My mother didn't even want to ask the counselor will transpire today I knew she did not care she expect more of me. I definitely might of blew my own and only chance for a normal life. Than IT HAPPENED!. First came the smell. It was so strong and came to me so fast. A smell I never smelled before and would never be able to miss if I ever had. The strangest smell I ever smelled before. This smell was stronger than a werewolf's smell. But even louder. It smelled like a thousand caged birds was released all at once. I was taken back automatically. I threw my head back slightly trying to compose myself. What was that God awful wet bird smell. My nose wrinkled and in that instance, I heard wind. Loud wind, way to loud to blame it on an open window. It sounded like a tornado bursting through the office walls. The councilor shoved herself under her desk. "Earthquake!" She shouted. I guess her mind couldn't process what was going on, this was no earthquake. It felt closer to a tornado. But definitely notan earthquake. I stood up, running to investigate. I knew no tornado could hurt me. I wanted to make sure everyone was safe. I ran to the direction of the smell and the tornado strong winds. Turning the corner, seemed to be where the principles office would be. I couldn't process what I was seeing before myself. I have never heard what my eyes have just witnessed. Was everything possible in this world. Was everything true? All myths, stories and ancient biblical archives true? My most creative dreams would of never been able to make up the creature I have just laid my eyes on. "Michael." I gazed, gasping for air. I didn't realize I stopped breathing this whole time! I seemed to be in a shook. Me a hybrid, in shook. What an oxymoron. It was Michael. And the other guy. The had wings. Like wings, wings. Huge bird like wings. Reminding me of a human and eagle, that made a baby together. Beautiful bird like men standing in front of me. Michaels had black wings, beautiful and extending so far that it was on both sides of the room. His friend was flying out of the window by the time I laid eyes on them. His wings were white and brown. Magnificent. "Michael, now!" Michael caught my eye and put is finger over his mouth. In the millisecond of a second they flew away and were gone, faster than the sped of light. I just seen an Angel. Michael is an Angel. I gasped. "Holy Crap."
