Chapter 10: You'll Be On Your Knees! Breaker of the 4th Wall! Introducing Phoenix Meta!
Trevor took in the view of Splitsboro, from the top of the Sidekick Academy.
He was smiling, the corners of his mouth at sharp, happy points of happiness.
The breeze went through his hair, as he was about to take off his helmet, when...
Trevor suddenly lost his footing at the top of the building...
And started falling.
A portal opened up where Trevor was going to land, as Trevor, for once in his life, panicked.
As he hit the hard opening of the portal...
The lights went dark all over Splitsboro.
Something was wrong, but Trevor wouldn't know what it was.
At least... not yet.
[CUE - SO EMOTIONAL - WHITNEY HOUSTON]
Eugene was working on the portal generator, listening to music, when Connie came into the room, worried about her love life, again.
"Eugene, Jason broke up with me." Connie stated, tears in her eyes.
Eugene looked over at Connie, frowning, as he turned the music off.
"Constance... He's just not that into you. He's correspondingly not that right for you, either. What makes your impecuniousness not want to conceptualize this?"
Connie looked at her hands...
And sobbed right into them.
"I don't know... I don't know!"
Eugene walked over, patting Connie on the shoulder.
"Constance... I don't know how to approximate this, but love is just chemicals that our perceptive brains tell us to architect when we distinguish a personality inconsquentially too much."
He lowered his glasses, smiling.
"And his perceptive brain chemicals told him that he didn't love you anymore, and that's fine. But it caused brokenheartedness in you, and I wish he just through-and-through didn't do that, Constance."
Connie hugged Eugene, as Eugene smiled warmly.
Eugene looked down quietly.
He pondered over this situation...
"Constance?" He said, softly.
Connie looked over, frowning.
"Yes, Eugene?" She choked out.
"I intellectualize that I am in love with you."
Plato was working in the Milky Squad's new base, as he was typing on his laptop.
He was so focused into it, that he didn't notice the sound of something falling and breaking a few plates in the kitchen.
It was Trevor Troublemeyer.
Trevor chuckled, rubbing his forehead.
"Ow... I wanna do that again, dude!"
Plato heard his voice, and instantly got a migraine.
"My God... we got another Zero on our hands... But somehow... even dumber..."
Zevor approached the base, smiling wide.
Whenever his department needed to blow something up...
He was their man.
"Alright, dude! Time to 'splode a spacial anomaly!"
He pulled out his explosives and his walkie-talkie.
"Okay, I'm gonna get everything in position, captain."
Zevor was gonna blow up the Milky Squad base...
Or...
At least, try.
The Milky Squad was called into the base, for Movie Night.
Peyton had picked the movie, Godzilla from 1955.
As they were about to watch the movie, the alarms went off.
"Aw, man! We were just about to watch Godzilla, too!" Peyton whimpered.
So...
Eric and Peyton rushed outside, seeing Zevor putting explosives around their base.
"Excuse me." Eric stated, putting hands on his hips.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Zevor pulled out his laser sword.
"STOP, CRIMINAL SCUM! YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW!" He hollered.
Peyton was confused.
But Eric was displeased, as he transformed into Phoenix Aurora.
And Peyton followed suit as Eagle Will.
After they did their transformations, speeches and poses...
"Begone, cop!" Phoenix Aurora screamed, rushing towards Zevor with his flail.
[CUE - EASY LOVER - PHIL COLLINS AND PHILLIP BAILEY]
Zevor clashed laser sword with magical energy sword when Eagle Will rushed forth, shoving Phoenix Aurora aside.
Phoenix Aurora beaned Zevor in his helmet, but it, of course, caused no damage.
Phoenix Aurora and Eagle Will were somehow up to their ears in this battle, and they didn't know it yet...
However...
Suddenly, a purple beam of light came from the kitchen of the base.
Phoenix Aurora and Eagle Will looked at the purple light.
"What the...?" Zevor was questioning this whole situation.
After a short transformation sequence...
"The metafictional mirror of the Milky Squad! Phoenix Meta!" Trevor shouted, doing a pose, now christened as Phoenix Meta.
Zevor looked dismayed.
"Wh-What? But he's not part of the Milky Squad, is he...?"
Phoenix Aurora and Eagle Will looked at Zevor, smirking.
"Uh oh. Looks like your luck just ran out..."
Phoenix Meta rushed out from the base very quickly, hitting Zevor with his hammer.
Zevor yelped, clearly outclassed by the newly born Rising Bird Warrior.
But Phoenix Meta wasn't done yet.
"Let's go! 4th Wall Breaker! Feel the power of metafiction, scum!"
Phoenix Meta hit Zevor like a baseball, sending him flying.
"Home Run! Yeah!"
He jumped up, as Phoenix Aurora and Eagle Will both hi-fived him.
The Milky Squad indeed got to watch Godzilla that day, after recruiting Trevor Troublemeyer into their ranks.
Eric cuddled Trevor during the parts he found scary, and Trevor realized how unusually soft and protective he felt when Eric did that.
Trevor realized that he wasn't that straight after all.
As for Zevor...
Zevor was suspended from his job for not succeeding and following through with his orders, and Zonic took away his badge.
Zevor had a large flipout, getting himself banned from all of the universe's social media sites all at once due to his horrible, horrible, bigoted behaviour.
He was arrested by the Time Space Administration Bureau from Nanoha, and ordered to do some community service in Splitsboro.
All's well that ends well...
For now.
