Max gets a taste of the lime life but also sees what it will take to live with Caroline.
Every rejected girl scowled at Max as she was escorted outside with Caroline. The tough looking bodyguards carried her few belongings and made a path to the huge black stretch limo. She stuck her nose up at those bitches; for the first time ever she felt like a somebody, door opened for her and everything. Caroline gave everyone there a cheerful wave goodbye, seeming oblivious to them glaring at her and giving the bird.
The bodyguards followed the stretch limo in a black Chevy with tinted windows.
The limo was so big on the inside. She sat her butt down on the comfortable seating. Caroline sat very close and put an arm tightly around her.
"Champagne?"
"Uh...sure," Max was skeptical, she'd never had a drink of alcohol in her life so it was a little strange.
"Don't worry. It's not illegal if it's super classy that's what I've learned," she said as she took out a bottle and some glasses from a compartment by their seat, "Honestly you are an adult so you should be allowed to do what you want..."
She struggled with the corkscrew, Max was afraid someone was getting a black eye.
"Yeah...I mean I'm old enough to...," Max stopped herself before she finished that sentence, she didn't want to use the 'S-word' around her new caregiver in case she offended her. Caroline wanted to hear what she was going to say but then finally without breaking her wrist she popped the cork. "Ahh." The champagne sprayed all over Max's shirt.
"Oh, Max honey! I'm so sorry!"
Caroline tried cleaning her off with a handkerchief and got very touchy while doing so.
"It's ok," Max said, embarrassed.
"I'll get you into some dry clothes when we get to your new home!" She poured the remainder of the light and bubbly into their glasses, "No sense in wasting good champagne."
"Agreed," Max smiled at the very tall glass getting filled.
Caroline stopped her before she could take a single sip of it, "To new beginnings. To a long and happy life...together..." she clinked her glass into hers.
"Cheers," said Max, smiling awkwardly. She watched how easily Caroline threw it back like the party girl she was. Max more so took her time. Not bad.
The limo pulled up to the Channing Hotel. Max was confused, was she showing off or something? Surely she didn't live there.
The bodyguards took Max's things and followed behind them. The doorman dressed like he was maybe from the 60's greeted them.
"Good afternoon, Miss Channing."
"Good afternoon, Reginold."
He straightened up when he saw Max "Would this be your lovely daughter you've talked so much about?"
"Yes this is my daughter Max."
"How do you do, Max?"
"Um, great, thanks, Reg."
No one must have ever called him that before, he seemed to light up when she said it. He opened the door for them.
"Enjoy your stay, Max," Reg told her as she went inside. This was the most beautiful place she'd ever seen, this was like a palace out of dream. The high ceiling, chandeliers, staircases and glass elevators, the gold, pink and tan marble.
Caroline enjoyed watching Max's expression, like her breath had been taken away by looking around at everything. Max was more than impressed it's just too bad the guests weren't very impressed with her. All of the much older, snooty rich people had these disgusted looks in their faces like they knew she was from nothing; probably had something to do also with the champagne still on her shirt.
"Forget about them," Caroline whispered into her ear. She led her over to one of the glass elevators, waving to her gloomy guests along the way.
"So you own all of this?"
"Yes. I mean I have people taking care of things and all of the boring details but it's all me."
"Can I ask..."
"Don't worry we're going up to my penthouse."
"Penthouse?" Max raised an eyebrow.
Caroline laughed. "You'll see."
The penthouse was large, widespread almost department store like place. Big jacuzzi, big screen TV with a large theater system, mini bar, everything. She felt guilty walking on the animal skin rugs she had.
"Come over here I'll show you my closet," Max watched her open up two big doors with a remote. The lights inside turned on, blinding her, she could see a long tunnel that almost seemed to have no end. Max was almost scared to go inside and look around. Caroline gave her a friendly push forward. Everything was there from ballroom gowns, bikinis, some weird looking outfits that you would only see on models and no one else.
"I just had a fun idea!" Caroline exclaimed, "Why don't you try some of these on? I bet they would look just stunning!"
"Me? Wouldn't that be like trying to redecorate a haunted house?"
Caroline shook her head and laughed, "Oh you!" She grabbed a sparkling blue dress off of a rack, "Come on this will be great. We can pick out the dress you will be wearing to the party tomorrow night!"
Max wasn't sure she heard correctly, "Party?"
"Yes. Only my closest friends. I have to introduce you of course."
"Hm," Max thought, looking over her options, "Dress me up in front of some strangers? Anything I want? Cool. I'm down."
Caroline excitedly hugged her, squeezing her relentlessly; she needed the jaws of life. Once she let go it was time for a little fashion show. Caroline set up a chair in front of the closet and waited for Max to come out wearing whatever she chose. She turned on some appropriate music to encourage her.
Max felt ridiculous but hey this woman took her in and was trying to bond with her. She walked out, strutting with the blue sparkling dress on, kind of tight, definitely hugging the hips too much, she was a curvy girl after all. Caroline applauded and cheered nonetheless. Max was a bit stiff and shy walking out in the next couple. A red dress, tan, a pant suit that was oddly just her size. The next one was leopard print dress; she felt more confident for whatever reason. Caroline made cat noises and pawed at her with her hands out like claws.
Max came walking out in something that made Caroline stop and stare. A perfect black dress. Max wasn't sure if that look she was getting was good or bad. Caroline stopped the music and got up to look at her. She walked circles around her, looking up and down and all around.
"Magnificent!" She clapped her hands together, "Just...Wow!"
"You really think this is ok?"
Caroline massaged her chin and examined her chest, "Well..." She made a little adjustment by pulling on the top of the dress to reveal more cleavage.
"You...uh...don't think that's too much?"
"Oh no, not at all," Caroline smiled, happy with herself, "You've got the goods after all. It would be an absolute shame not to show off." Max wasn't sure how formal this party was going to be but didn' think it would be so relaxed to have her boobs popping out. "Everyone is going to love you don't worry. Plus I read that people are so obsessed with cleavage because it reminds them of a huge butt. It's like science."
Max thought this weird logic over, "So when your friends are looking at my chest they're going to think my ass is on my chest?"
"Exactly. Cool, right?" Caroline's grin was like a punch in the face, "Speaking of which..." Caroline turned Max around to get a look at the party in the back. She lifted up the back of the dress a bit and smoothed out the fabric.
"Uh...," Max said, nervously.
"There. It's good to really show off the shape more. Everyone's going to want to get a good look."
Max was beginning to feel a little uneasy, "How many people are going to be here?"
"Oh don't worry, Max, only a few not a big deal."
Max was not picky when it came to eating. Caroline had her chef make anything she wanted. Max shrugged, not really feeling all that hungry. Steak was prepared for both of them, salads and red wine. Max hardly touched anything.
It was getting late. Caroline felt she was letting her adoptive daughter down. She showed her to her room. Max didn't smile or seemed very enthused by the large room with her own walk in closet, queen sized bed or bidet.
"What's the matter, honey?" Caroline sat on the bed with Max to talk a bit more seriously.
"Nothing I just..."
"Are you worried about tomorrow?"
"I've never really fit in before," she said, "It never bothered me before..."
"You're going to do great. Trust me."
"You really think so?"
"Yes," Caroline put her arm around her and planted a kiss on her cheek, something that made her back away from. They both laughed though. Caroline couldn't stop touching her hair. "You're so beautiful..."
Max laughed at that, "Are you drunk?"
Caroline sighed and straightened her back, "Better get to bed. Big day tomorrow."
Caroline was halfway across the room when Max said, "Miss Channing?"
Caroline stopped, "Yes, Max?"
"Thank you."
Caroline smiled, "You don't have to thank me."
She shut off the lights and left for the night.
Max was not a morning person so she wasn't willing to get up at any precise time. But she was woken up by men talking outside and loud noises like stuff being moved around. She had to drag herself out of bed to go take a peek. It was a bunch of hotel staff, they were cleaning and organizing, Max thought they were awfully early getting started.
Caroline caught her watching, she surprised her standing there holding some coffee. "Up bright and early I see. I like that."
Max rubbed her eyes, "How long have you been up?"
"Oh I couldn't sleep," she smiled forcibly; that was unnerving.
"What time do your friends get here?" Max yawned.
"Oh well we have a private party in the dining room on the 4th floor all to us. This is just my weekly redecorating. I don't like keeping the same look for too long you see."
Max was too tired to process how insane that was. The staff took out old furniture and painted.
"I can't wait to show you my summer home. I know you'll love it there."
Max frowned, "How many homes do you own?"
Max managed to get a nap in before it was time to get ready for Caroline's party. She put on that black dress. Caroline remade the adjustments she made before and checked her over several times.
"Are you wearing a G-string? You look great!"
Arm in arm and with the bodyguards escorting them they got on the elevator and proceeded to the fourth floor. Max didn't feel so nervous anymore. Not quite relaxed but much better than she did.
"Wow," said Max to Caroline, "I feel like orphan Annie and you're Daddy Warbucks."
"Oh my that's quite a lot to live up to."
The bodyguards opened the dining room doors for them. Max grew faintly ill. Inside were not just a few people, not a group this was a whole army.
"Come along, Max," said Caroline, noticing she had turned into a statue.
Everyone stopped and stared at the new mother and daughter. Unlike the looks she had gotten the day before these were very shocked and delighted; to be fair when most of them heard Caroline had s daughter they probably weren't given all of the details.
"Should I burp the alphabet?" She whispered.
Caroline paraded her around and made sure she smiled nice and wide.
"My my who do we have here?" A bald, older man said.
A woman with a very poodle like hairstyle adjusted her glasses when looking over her figure, "You are a rather breathtaking young girl aren't you."
Everyone crowded around to see her and pay her compliments. Max found herself loving the attention.
"Come on Max give us all a spin."
Max did so and recieved applause while doing so. She could only think that rich people must be easily amused.
"Max do you have any special skills?" A snooty woman in a possibly real fur coat came up to her and asked.
Max looked over to Caroline, "Uh...well...," she was drawing a real blank here but then it hit her, "Oh I can do this."
She pushed her chest out and to everyone's astonishment flexed her breasts. They gasped like they just saw someone walk a tightrope or swallow fire. Her boobs wabboled up and down completely in her control. She did a little dance as her boobs bounced around.
"Oh wow!" The snooty woman said, very impressed.
Everyone applauded. Max saw Caroline fanning herself; it must've been getting hot in there or something.
"My, Caroline she is quite a dish."
"Better not let this one get away."
Caroline agreed whole heartedly with her guests. No way she could ever let her leave.
To be continued!
