Shades Of Gray-Ch 2
Penelope rubbed her temples and sighed as she waited on her babies to give here some results, results that would bring her family back home safe to her and fast. Seconds later her computer beeped and she said, "ohhhh there you are you little freak", she reached over and picked up her phone and hit a button and waited for somebody to answer.
Derek smiled and said, "whatcha got for me sweetness"?, Penelope said, "well handsome it appears that all three victims only have one thing in common, their younger brothers were all killed when they were 6 years old". Derek said, "were they killed by the same way"?, Penelope said, "two of the three were killed in car accidents and one by getting killed by home invasion and the two that were killed in car accidents were listed as suspicious".
Hotch said, "suspicious how Garcia"?, Penelope said, "according to witness reports a young man around the age of 20 was at both scenes, some witnesses even reported that the man had something to do with the accidents". Reid said, "was the boy ever found"?, Penelope said, "no boy wonder he wasn't, it's like he fell off of the grid".
Emily said, "do we have a description of the boy that they think was involved"?, Penelope said, "nothing solid just a tall, thin boy around the age of 20 with dirty blonde hair, other than that, nada". JJ said, "did any of the neighbors report seeing a man with that description after the home invasion"?, they could all hear hear her fingers flying across the keyboard and after a few seconds she said, "yes my raven haired beauty but nobody was able to get a good look at the mans face but the descriptions match".
Dave said, "so we have three victims with the only thing in common is their younger brothers were killed"?, Penelope rubbed her baby bump and said, "sadly yes sir". Hotch said, "can you check the police records and see if you can find out anything Garcia, who knows we might get lucky"?, Penelope said, "on it boss man, be careful crimefighters, Garcie out" as the call ended.
Derek said, "do you think that it's the 20 year old had something against the three women that he killed"?, Reid said, "he could be killing close and on the date of his own brothers death, maybe like he's trying to make people pay for the pain he had when his brother was killed", everybody nodded their heads in agreement.
Penelope said, "alright Garcie you can do this, you can do this" as her fingers flew across the keyboard as she hoped that she'd get lucky and be able to find something. Several pictures popped up on her screen and she said, "alright let's see where each of you were on the dates in question" as she hit a few keys and started working.
The team was only about 60 minutes away by plane so Penelope hoped that they would find this unsub and get home to her and the sooner the better as far as she was concerned. As she sat there she said, "wait a minute, I know you, well not this you but the younger you" as she started pulling up old cases, looking for one in particular.
She gasped and said, "tomorrow makes 10 years since your brother died, 10 years since you were put in prison", she shook her head and said, "wait, how did you get out"? as she started researching on the unsub. A few minutes later she said, "overcrowding, are you kidding me, he killed his younger brother for crying out loud".
She read on to see that he was a model inmate and was let out because even though he was once a sociopath he had seemed to change his ways and was deemed eligible for release. Penelope picked up her phone and hit a button and after a couple of rings she heard Derek said, "you're on speaker sweetness".
Penelope said, "I've found him, I've found the unsub", Derek said, "who is he baby girl"?, she said, "does the name Kyle Murphy ring any bells"?, the team all looked at each other and Reid said, "his older brother killed him and shoved model airplane parts down his throat, he's in prison though, right"?, she said, "sadly no, he was released early because of overcrowding and was deemed eligible for release because he was a model inmate".
JJ said, "how long has it been since Kyle was killed"?, Penelope opened her mouth to tell them and Reid said, "10 years tomorrow", Derek said, "do you have a picture of what he looks like now sweetness"?, she said, "sure do" and hit a few keys and said, "I sent it to your phones".
They all looked at their phones and Derek said, "any idea where he is now"?, she said, "I'm still looking but so far nothing hotstuff but I'll hit ya back if I find anything". Hotch said, "good work Garcia". Penelope smiled and said, "thanks bossman" as the call ended.
She sat back in her seat and sighed knowing that she was able to identify their unsub for them, now all she had to do was wait for the team to find him and put him back in prison where he belonged.
