Thank you for your supports! I initially didn't expect this to get such warm response. Also, I thank you for encouraging me to continue writing and welcoming me to FFN from long hiatus. Big shout out to cherrypinkmint and two guests for leaving reviews, also the ones that favorite and followed this story.

I decide to turn this into Inspector! Light and Idol! Misa in multiple situations. The chapters won't be in chronological order. This one is situated about two years after previous chapter. Misa late family members are my OCs since their names were never revealed.

Light impassively gazed outside the window of shinkansen he was currently in. The weight on his shoulder didn't bother him at all. Occasionally, he would check to his right, to the blond woman seated beside him. Only fifteen minutes after the shinkansen took off, and Misa already started dozing off. He could not blame the said woman, she was really busy filming for her new drama this week. Between Misa's tight schedule and his equally busy job, finally now they could make time to have a short trip to Misa's hometown, Kyoto. Light had been to Kyoto once in his high school year, but this time his trip was for personal reason.

The blonde's head started sliding off his shoulder, making Light moved his hand and placed her head back to the original comfortable position. His girlfriend - ah no, the young Yagami thought while eyeing the sparkle from the idol's fourth finger, she was his fiancée now, soon to be – stirred in her sleep. The brunette stroked her hair lightly then kissed her crown to calm her.

If two years ago someone had told him that he would be this caring and loving to a woman, he would laugh at the absurdity. Now, in his heart, Light had to admit that he had changed for the better. And the reason was the woman who was currently breathing softly on the crook of his neck, making him a bit warm.

Actually, no one expected this early year they had almost broken up. Same with what majority of couples went through, their relationship was not that easy. Between Misa's popularity that was responsible for her tight schedules and Light's workaholic nature, the time they spent together was very limited. It was not a rocky trip, but it surely was not a walk in the park. Yet they persevered and here they were now, a man and his soon-to-be wife, ready to commit to each other for the rest of their lives.

The brunette remembered Ryuzaki's smirking face when he learned about Light's proposal.

'I know it will happen sooner or later.'

He recalled the pale man said it. Ryuzaki just had to be perceptive.

On the other hand, the other busy body of his relationship with Misa, Matsuda, cried and laughed at the same time when someone told him the news. The young inspector thought it must be because the black haired bloke, who was a big fan of Misa-Misa, was devastated to see his idol getting married to another man, but heartily supported it because it was Light. Also, the lad was currently seeing the other young Yagami, the female one.

Light sighed, he needed to make sure Matsuda was good enough for his little sister.

His family on the other hand was very welcoming towards Misa from the first time the idol stepped on the Yagami's abode. Sayu especially was overjoyed when she saw the diamond in Misa's ring. His mother was crying happily when she hugged both him and Misa's together, while the Yagami patriarch looked at him proudly and told him how he had grown into a man and he was indeed his son.

The handsome lad checked his watch.

'One hour and forty minutes left.'

It was about twelve degrees Celsius when they walked rows and rows of tombstones in the cemetery. The brunette lad held the young blonde's hand to share their warmness to each other. Misa loved autumn, a bit different from Light who preferred winter. But he admitted watching momiji, especially in Kyoto, was a delightful experience. They decided to get married in autumn because of it, Light mused briefly. Misa's birthday was in a few months, on Christmas, and she wanted to celebrate it this year as Yagami Misa.

They stopped in front of three sizable tombstones, Amane Daichi, Amane Kimiko, and Amane Takeru were written respectively. Misa's parents and her younger brother. Misa talked about them occasionally, to the point that Light thought he personally knew them each.

They both started cleaning before placing chrysanthemums in each grave, then offered the incense sticks and began to pray. They could not make it in Obon, but at least their occasion was appropriate this time. Light finished praying before Misa did, so he just waited while watching his new fiancé intently.

Light knew Misa had no family left, maybe that was the reason why she treated his family like her own and loved them dearly, something that made her gain both Light and his family's approval. Staring at her now, in this situation, Light admired Misa for being so strong.

Misa opened her eyes as she finished praying. Light reached for her hand and offered up a small dimpled smile.

"Finished?" he asked.

Misa answered with a nod and gave him a small kiss. After they separated, the handsome young man cleared his throat.

"I think I need to introduce myself properly to your family, Misa."

Misa nodded, "Go on, Light."

Light bowed to the Amane's graves.

"Mr. Amane, Mrs. Amane, and Takeru-san, it's an honor to meet you like this. Misa talks a lot about you."

The brunette inhaled.

"My name is Yagami Light. I am twenty five years old and your daughter's fiancé. We will be married this coming November. Please give us your blessing."

Misa squeezed his hand.

"I have a stable job. I have promising career in Public Security Bureau. I will provide for Misa the best that I can. I will give her a comfortable life as she deserves. I promise to put her happiness above mine."

Light sighed and then smiled.

"I initially thought your daughter was someone annoying, well she still is sometimes," Light chuckled when Misa pouted beside him, "but your daughter is a very caring and strong-willed person. She accepts me for who I am, and always supports me in any occasions. Misa turns into something constant in my life. I don't think I want to live my life without Misa with me anymore.

She is charming and beautiful. I am sure you would be proud of what she has become. She is also the woman that I love."

Misa stared at her fiancé adoringly. Her eyes turned misty.

"I am sure she is as she is now because of your guidance. Thank you for taking care of Misa for twenty years. Starting now, please allow me to take care of her."

Light finished his speech with a bow one more time. Misa hugged her dear soon-to-be husband.

"Light, thank you. I believe they approve you," she whispered.

The young inspector lightly kissed her forehead.

"Dad, Mom, Takeru," she started, "I am famous now. I finally reach my dream, but you are not there to see it."

Tears were escaping from the lass eyes. This time it was Light's turn to squeeze her hand.

"I eat properly, I also take care of my health. Don't you worry about me," she sniffed.

"Now I will spend the rest of life with the man I love. I am the luckiest woman on earth. Rest assured, we will make each other happy. Thank you Dad, Mom, and Takeru. Please watch over us."

Light embraced Misa and inhaled her sweet scent. The scent that never failed to relax him these two years, and now for the rest of their lives. He knew that life was full of uncertainties, but for now this was enough. Being in each other arms was enough. As long as they were together. He kissed her temple.

The next chapter can be about their marriage, or their time together as a couple, or even a longer time-skip situation. Who knows?
