Shades Of Gray-Ch 9
Derek quickly pulled his wife into his arms and said, "hang on baby, please hang on", Emily said, "we need medics in here now", the mountain rescue squad ran into the room and quickly started working on her. Hotch, Reid and Dave were taking care of Danny, he was laying on the floor on his stomach and they were trying to cuff him and reading him his rights.
He shook his head and said, "noooooooooo" and pushed away from them and JJ said, "move and I will shoot you", Danny grinned and said, "do your best JJ" and she smiled and said, "with pleasure". Danny lunged at her and she shot him once between the eyes and as his dead body hit the ground she said, "how's that for a good shot Danny, now may you rot in hell".
Derek watched as the team tried to get Penelope loaded into the bucket, one of the rescue team members got on his radio and said, "we need air medical and we need it yesterday". Derek said, "h h how is she, are they alright"?, one of the medics looked at him and said, "her blood pressure is low and she's losing a lot of blood, too much blood".
Dave said, "how long until you can get her to the hospital"?, he opened his mouth to answer when one of the medics other team mates said, "air medical will be here in 4 minutes, so we need to get her outside for pick up". He then looked up at Derek and said, "once they lift off they can have her to the hospital in 5 to 10 minutes".
Derek then stood back and watched as they continued to get Penelope ready so that they could head outside with her, Emily looked at Derek and said, "she's a fighter, she's strong, she'll do whatever it takes to come back to you and your child". Derek looked at her and said, "I can't lose her Em, her and this baby are my world".
The medics looked at Derek and one said, "alright we're ready to head on out", Derek nodded his head and fell in line behind them as they headed toward the opening of the cave. Reid looked at Dave as he said, "what are her chances"?, Reid said, "right now, not good, not good at all but the sooner they get her and the baby to the hospital the better".
Derek looked at the medic and said, "she's in active labor, her water broke and she's been having contractions for a few minutes", the medic said, "we'll have to get her hooked up to a fetal monitor once we get her loaded onto the helicopter". Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "please do what you have to do, please save my family, please save my family".
After they got Penelope loaded onto the helicopter, she was quickly hooked up to a fetal monitor, Derek stood watching as the medic shook his head no. Derek dropped his head and said, "please save my wife and child, please", he then watched as the helicopter lifted off, he was pulled back to reality when Reid said, "come on let's get you to the hospital", Derek nodded his head and said, "let's roll" as they all ran toward their SUVs leaving the locals to handle the dead body of Danny.
On the helicopter the medic was talking to the nurse and the nurse said, "if this baby stands any chance of making it we need to deliver it and deliver it now". It took only a few seconds before both the nurse and medic started gathering things for the C-section, when they had everything gathered the medic said, "are you sure about this"?, the nurse said, "I know it's not normally what we would do but this babys heart rate has dropped to 90 and if we don't get it out now we might lose not only the baby but the mother".
The medic said, "alright let's deliver this baby", the nurse blew out a deep breath as she started making the incision to bring baby Morgan into the world.
