Shades Of Gray-Ch 12
Derek and Fran stood talking and gently touching the baby for quite a while before Derek said, "I wonder if we can take a few pictures of the baby so that we can show baby girl and the others"?, Fran said, "why don't we ask Jackie" as she motioned for the younger woman to come over to them.
Jackie said, "is everything okay"?, Fran said, "yes honey, we just have a question for you", Jackie said, "sure, what can I do for you"?, Derek said, "would it be okay if we took a few pictures so that we can show my wife and the rest of our family"?, Jackie said, "sure, I don't see any harm in that at all".
Derek said, "thank you" and then pulled out his cell and snapped a few pictures and said, "daddy loves you baby girl, daddy and mommy both love you sooooo much". Fran said, "and you have a huge family that is waiting to spoil you rotten", Derek laughed and said, "ain't that the truth".
He then looked at Jackie and said, "how often are we allowed to come here and see her"?, Jackie said, "as long as she's stable like she is now, she can have visitors any time". Fran said, "we have other family members that would like to see her, is that possible"?, Jackie said, "sure, but for now we have to limit her visitors to two at a time".
Derek and Fran nodded their heads and Derek said, "momma why don't you go and get two more and when you get back with them I'll head out for a few minutes so that the others can see our angel". Fran smiled and said, "on my way", she then looked at Jackie and said, "thank you so much for everything you are doing to help my grandbaby".
Jackie said, "she's adorable and I love taking care of her", Fran smiled and nodded her head as she turned around and headed out of the nursery to head back out to join the others. Derek stood looking at his daughter, he couldn't take his eyes off of her, she was beautiful, she was a tone lighter than him and had dark beautiful eyes just like Penelope.
As he looked down at her he couldn't help but grin, he touched her little arm and said, "you look so much like your mommy, yes you do" and then he was pulled from his thoughts when he heard a light tapping on the window. He turned to see JJ and Reid standing there with his mom.
He said, "daddy is going to step out for a little while so that you can meet some more of our amazing family but don't you worry I'll be back, daddy will be back". He then sighed and turned around and headed outside, he smiled at JJ and Reid and said, "her nurse is named Jackie, she's the dark haired nurse right there" as he pointed to Jackie who was standing right beside the babies incubator.
Reid said, "well Jayje let's go get gowned and masked up and go see our niece", JJ smiled and said, "sounds like a plan", before they headed into the nursery to see the baby JJ said, "and we still haven't heard anything about Garcie". Reid put his hand on Dereks shoulder and said, "she's a fighter, she'll fight to come back to you, to you and this little miracle right here" as he pointed to the incubator.
Derek sighed and nodded his head and said, "thanks pretty boy", he stood there for a few minutes watching Reid and JJ, he couldn't help but smile knowing that he had a beautiful daughter and then his thoughts drifted back to his wife. Fran looked at him and said, "you ready to head out to join the others"?, he sighed and said, "I am" but before they walked away he glanced over his shoulder and said, "I'll be back baby girl".
As soon as they got back to the waiting room Derek handed them his cell and said, "we were able to take a few pictures of her, she's gorgeous", Hotch said, "ohhhh she's a heartbreaker", Emily said, "Morgan you are going to have to beat the boys away with a club".
Dave said, "ohhhh look at her, she's definitely gorgeous", Derek said, "just like her momma" causing everybody to smile and nod their heads yes in agreement. Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "I just wish we would be able to hear some news about baby girl", Hotch said, "well no news is hopefully good news".
Derek ran his hand over his head and said, "from your lips Hotch", they were pulled from their conversation by Karen walking over and saying, "Derek". He said, "any news on Penelope"?, Karen said, "that's what I came over to tell you, she's been moved out of recovery and is in her room if you would all like to see her".
lDerek smiled and said, "yes please", she said, "follow me" and they all fell in line behind Karen as they all headed toward the elevator.
