So, I'm a bit bored with Lost and Found and I'm hitting writers block when trying to write the plot I had in mind. In this case, I'm going to distract myself with this. I never really see any KFP fanfic that explores this idea. Enjoy.

Fire raged around him. The village he lived was burning, attacked by hundreds of demons lead by a demon with a thousand eyes. His father was heading the charge, attempting to fight them off as his mother ran, holding his paw tightly. Yelps and howls of pain from both sides could be heard as the village defended those who ran. The two ran into the forest, away from the burning buildings, into a small thicket where they sat, gasping for air. "We'll be safe here," his mother soothed, although panting. "Your daddy's strong, he'll beat them all and come find us okay"

He wanted to believe her. Truly, he did. But the all-encompassing fear that surrounded him did not allow him to even begin. The smell of burning flesh was still filling his nostrils, the sounds of women and children and men screaming and sobbing as they were impaled with the swords of the ferocious monsters that attacked, the adrenaline was still pumping through his veins.

Not long later, howls of His monsters could be heard once more, coming closer and closer. Too close, his mother must have thought because she took his smaller paw into her hand once more and they were off. Away from the thicket and the sounds of monsters she pulled him. Still, the sounds of the wolves came closer and closer. The child turned his head and saw Him. The Demon. The thousands of eyes focused themselves on the pair as they ran, screaming to get them, to not allow any to escape.

Suddenly, mother turned sharply to the left, picking him up in her thick arm. The younger child didn't realise what was happening until he was placed on a wooden surface, like the beams on the floor at home. "You'll be safe. You'll be safe here my child" the mother intoned, like a mantra. "Goodbye my darling Po."

And she was gone…

Taken by the demon and his monsters.

Po woke up, in a cold sweat, as he had grown accustomed to since that fateful night. The remains of his fire were smouldering as he awoke to the wide sun on his round face. Shaking off the remaining fear of his nightmare, Po stood up and started clearing up his camp, ready to move on.

'The Valley shouldn't be too far now.', the panda mused as he walked. 'I wonder if anything has changed in the time I was away.'

The rounded bear made his way up the path that wound over the side of the mountain with practiced ease. He had been at his wandering for close to seven years now, making his way round the various cities and providences of China. And now he was going back to where he started. Po turned a corner to see his destination. The Valley of Peace.

The large city was beautiful from the panda's view. The new-born sun beamed down upon every inch of the land, from the gate to the palace. Small dots could be seen as people around went for their day to day life, moving around like ants. The Valley dipped upwards the further you went in, slowly getting steeper and steeper until you reached one of the Wonder of China. The Jade Palace. A long set of stairs that stretched for at least a mile high allowed the Palace to tower over the city, like a silent guardian of stone. Though he could not see it, Po knew of the beautiful patterns that were embedded into the inner walls of the palace, creating imagery of dragons and the like. This was where the Guardians of the Valley resided, masters of the martial art Kung Fu and home to the greatest teacher of Kung Fu, Master Shifu and the creator of Kung Fu itself, Master Oogway.

After a few more minutes of admiring the breath-taking scene, Po moved on, making his way down the mountain to the gate. The sooner he got to the gate, the sooner he would be allowed to re-stock his supplies and sight see again.

In the courtyard of the Jade Palace, a small red panda sat with his eyes closed. In his hands was a wooden flute which he was using to create a peaceful tune to go with the atmosphere he was surrounded in. Every once in a while, the panda's ear would flick at a rustling of the tree branches, or the sound of a bug running in the grass.

Putting down his flute quickly, his eyes opened, just as a group of five ambushed him from all sides: even the sky! Quickly jumping to his feet, the small panda dodged to the side to avoid a fangless viper that attempted to strike him at his left. As quickly as before, he jumped high to cause a tiger's kick to his back to miss narrowly and dive over a diving cranes straw hat. This pattern of the five attacking him over and over continued whilst the panda dodged with minor difficulty, with the added interjections of a yellow furred monkey and a small mantis.

After several minutes of combat, the old panda stopped, as did his attackers. His glad voice boomed over the courtyard as he spoke. "Well done students!" he said, before his voice turned to heavy annoyance. "If you were trying to disappoint me!"

The panda pointed his flute to the nearest student, a tall tigress, before stating in the same voice, "Tigress, you need more ferocity. Monkey, greater speed! Crane, height! Viper… Subtlety. Mantis...!" The panda turned his flute towards each student aggressively whilst giving his criticism before being interrupted by a duck.

"Master Shifu"

"WHAT!"

The duck squawked as the master turned his flute on him. "Its master Oogway, he wants to see you." The panda's face turned from the 'teacher' face to a stunned visage. Quickly, the master dismissed his students for now as he ran off, towards a large chamber of the Palace. Sliding along the marble floor to a halt in front of the middle of the room, he quietly said "Master Oogway, you summoned me. Is something wrong?"

In the center of the room, surrounded by a legion of candles, was a large staff thrice the size of Shifu. Held up by this staff was a shell. The shell slowly began sprouting legs and arms and a head as the shell climbed down from its perch. "Why would something need to be wrong for me to see my old friend?", the old turtle asked, as he walked towards the candles.

Concern melted from the other master's face as he asked in return, "So, nothing is wrong?"

"Well, I never said that."

Confusion made itself known on Shifu's face as Oogway began slowly blowing out the candles in the room. One by one. Poof, poof, poof. Gasp, poof. Eventually, Shifu could not take any more and simply thrusted both his hands out, created a powerful gust of wind which blew out each and every candle nearly at once.

"You were saying."

Oogway's face marred a dark look. "I have had a vision. Tai-Lung will return."

Immediately, Shifu recoiled as images of claws and teeth thrusted themselves upon him. A dark figure owned those teeth and a deep growl emanated from each image. Slowly Shifu composed himself as he retorted "That is impossible! He's in prison."

"Nothing is impossible," the aged turtle responded sadly.

A look of horror covered Shifu's face as he yelled for a messenger. As the messenger approached the Master yelled in his face, "Fly to Chor Ghom prison, tell them to double the guards, double the weapons, double Everything. Tai-Lung does not leave that prison!"

Recoiling from the disturbed master with a quick 'Yes Master Shifu' the bird flew to complete its given task.

"One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it", Oogway quoted, watching the bird fly.

"We have to do something. We can't just let him march on the Valley and take his revenge. He'll, He'll…" Shifu said quickly, images of violence filling his mind.

"Shifu.", Oogway soothed wisely, motioning to a disturbed pool of water behind him. "Your mind is like this water. When it becomes agitated, it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle-

Oogway then dropped his staff low to tap the water, causing the water to settle, and a stationary golden dragon to appear in the water.

"-the answer becomes clear."

Shifu was shocked once more as he whispered, "the dragon scroll…"

Oogway nodded gravely. "It is time."

"But who? Who is worthy enough to be trusted with this power? To become… the Dragon Warrior."

Shifu's eyes begged for his answer as he raised his hands towards Oogway, who's mouth was beginning to form words.

"I don't know!"

A/N About the change, don't worry about it, Jim Helcon let me know that I said Japan instead of China like an idiot. I actually slapped myself when I noticed that.

Also, Jim, I know it's a copied script but I'm only changing Po. Nothing at this point in the story is really going to change because Po isn't there to influence it. But thanks for pointing out my idiocy! :D
