Nemuri Kayama was so excited for today she wasn't able to contain the giggles and random laughter. 'I can't be the day has come. I finally get to bring my little Hideaki home. That damn social worker took way too long to say my house was ready for him. It will be so wonderful to have a smart five year- old running around to share my life with.' She drives up to the orphanage and sees the workers running around like mad. Miss Midnight parks her car and starts running towards the door 'Oh my god I hope nothing bad happened to Hideaki.' As Nemuri gets up to the door before her hand could wrap around the door handle, the Director of the orphanage steps out to greet her. The Director tries to hide the worry that is plastered on her face while leading Midnight to the main office " Ah miss Kayama. What weird time for you to show up. We are dealing with a situation with your Hideaki. Just give us a couple of minutes to get him ready for you."
Flashback 15 minutes before Midnight shows up.
Hideaki couldn't stop smiling knowing today was his last day at an orphanage. The saddest part was going to be leaving his best friend here Hinata. "I hope she gets someone to adopt her soon. As soon as those thoughts ran through his head a group of kids laughing hard started running through the halls and When Hideaki saw which group itt was dread hit his stomach. Hideaki starts running after them and walks into the worst scene that he couldn't even imagine in his wildest nightmares.
There a group of boys are holding Hinata up by her arms as a larger boy, using his quirk that made his fists hard as steel, uses her as a punching yells " Kai stop! Leave her alone!" He starts running towards the larger boy. Before even getting half way a couple of other boys tackle him to the ground shoving his face down. When Kai saw that Hideaki was there and couldn't reach him grinned evilly ''Ah the boy that is leaving here! Well since this little quirkless bitch decided to talk back today of all days when her knight in shining armor is leaving. It's the most hilarious thing that she could do. Now since you finally showed up you can watch her last moments as she begs for your help. This will be a living hell for you and I will enjoy being the one to make it happen." After Kai finishes his evil monologue to put fear in the younger boy that is being held down. He pulls a large kitchen knife out of the potted plant. Kai smiles as he pulls out the knife. Hideaki screeches as Kai places the blade against Hinata's eye and pushes down slowly so he can hear her scream. Hideaki tries hard to activate this quirk to pull the knife away from Hinata. As soon as Kai sees the knife moving away from her eye, the goons punch Hideaki hard in the stomach to stop his quirk from moving it anymore. Kai laughs hard while stabbing Hinata in the stomach making sure that the grotusque sight was always in front of Hideaki.
Where are the workers? I'm yelling and no one is coming to help Hinata. I can't believe this. As Hideaki was watching his anger started to rise as he kept struggling against the two holding him down. No one was really paying attention that a red aura was slowly creeping out of Hideaki's skin. "Looks like she is almost dead so I will take pity and end it quickly. Then I will give you a scar so you will always remember this." Kai slit Hinata's throat to stop her crying then the boys dropped her like trash. He slows walking up with the knife towards Hideaki about to stab him on the arm to give a scar.
Hideaki yells out with tears running down his face as the red aura finally covers him. Feeling a strength come over him he breaks free of the boys' hold. Kai starts moving faster trying to get a stab into Hideaki, but before he can get close Hideaki uses his mind to force the knife out of Kai's hand. While Kai looks at his empty hand in surprise Hideaki tackles him and starts punching him in the face as hard as he can. With every hit Kai's body seems to be losing muscle. The other boys run after they hear that workers are coming. Hideaki keeps punching Kai in the face until he stops moving.
The workers scream looking at the courtyard. At a small girl that was brutally murdered. At one boy that looks like he literally beat the other boy to death. The workers pull the young boy off the body and hold him back. 'Fuck we shouldn't have sneaked off to have sex. Fuck this is so horrible.' One worker runs off to go get the Director while a second starts to move Hinita's body so they can start cleaning up the blood.
Hideaki lets the worker bring him to the bathroom to start cleaning his body out. After getting his hands cleaned his stomach starts acting up. Breaking out of the worker's arms to go throw up in a sink while the skin on his arms shed completely muscles and all. The worker being freaked out just watched as Hideaki's arm heals fast, becoming larger and more muscular in build.
Back to Present time
Nemuri waits with the director for a couple of minutes before a worker walks in with Hideaki. She gets out of the chair and walks over to hug the shaken boy while looking at the director " So what happened that he is like this? I figured he would be ecstatic that he was going to be leaving with me, not shaken like he just saw his worst nightmare." The Director tried to smile and brush it off saying "He just got into a fight with a couple of friends here. They aren't all happy he gets to go to a home with let alone one with a Pro Hero. He will be fine." Hideaki leans over and whispers in Nemuri's ear "Please get us out of her quick and call the police. They are trying to hide something from you. I will tell you when she can't see me anymore. Please" As he says the last words Hideaki couldn't help but let out a small sob. Nemuri stands up and looks at the director "Well if there is nothing else, I would like to go with him. Hopefully seeing his new home will cheer him up. Thanks again for helping me find him. " The Director lets out a small sigh as she sees that Miss Midnight was just going to accept her lie and go away "Of course I was glad to help. The paperwork is all done so you're free to go. I hope you two have a wonderful life. "
Both Nemuri and Hideaki get into the car as fast as they can without giving anything away. Nemuri gets Hideaki buckled up then jumps into the driver side. She drives down the road for a couple of blocks then turns to Hideaki "So dear what is so wrong that you had to wait to tell me? " Hideaki chokes back a sob before answering " They are trying to hide at least one murder, possibly two. One of the boys killed my friend Hinata before my eyes and I got so angry I kept punching him in the face after I got out of his friends' arms... The next thing I knew a worker was helping me to the bathroom then had to throw up. I know you don't want me now, but please tell the police so they can't get away with it. She was too amazing to have her murder hidden. ''
As soon as the speech had ended Hideaki started crying his soul out while Midnight sat there in complete shock. " Hey this is Midnight I need you to get a warrant for the Musutafu's Orphanage. My new son says there has been a murder there." After a couple more words were said on the phone she hangs up and looks back at Hideaki who is crying " Baby calm down we will make sure they don't get away with this. I still want you, my cute little genius. I will make sure you are safe before I go take care of that. I sent a message to my good friend Shota to come watch you while mom does work at the orphanage." Hideaki nods through his tears and smiles the best he can down on the backseat.
About fifteen minutes later Shota shows up to see Midnight angry as hell with her new son in the backseat. He rolls down his car window and says " Ok Midnight why did you disturb my sleep? It better be important." Midnight glares back at Shota with a motherly fury "Just watch my son for me until I get back! You will find out more later." After the words are spoken, she jumps out of her car, grabs her hero costume then starts running towards the orphanage.
Midnight stops in an empty alley to quickly change into her hero costume before walking up to Musutafu's Orphanage. She couldn't help but let out a small smile when she saw that the police were there. A police officer waves her towards him. Midnight jogs over to the man hoping it was good news for her and the worst for the orphanage. " Miss MIdnight the lead detective wants you to go straight to the director's office. She says you will want to see the camera feed , but mental prepare for a nightmare on screen." Midnight nods to the man before running as fast she can to the office without getting in the way of police doing their work.
Lead Detective Saya Takashi sighs heavily while trying to shake the feelings that were running through her after watching the surveillance video. As soon as she gets her wits back Miss Midnight opens the door to the office."Well, first off let me thank you for letting us know about this. I believe if we were even a minute later we wouldn't have been able to find any evidence of the crime. I won't sugarcoat it. I've seen a lot of horrible stuff, but this has to be one of the worst if not the worst thing I've ever seen. It will hit you hard because this is your new son and being children in a hellish nightmare." Detective Takashi motions Midnight to take a seat in the chair in front of the computer. Midnight nervously sits down at the computer to see a video on the screen looking into a courtyard that was stamped sixteen minutes before she showed up to get Hideaki. " I'm gonna go get a couple of pictures to show you after you're done with the video. Take your time watching it. I had to rewatch it a couple of times. I'm still having a hard time believing this could happen. It's like straight out of a horror book." She walks out to the sound of Midnight gulping before the noise of mouse clicks to start the video.
Midnight couldn't believe what she just watched! Oh my god my poor son just had to go through this! Midnight's heart wrenched when that thought hit her conscious. Right before Midnight stood up to go find Detective Takashi the door opened. Takashi hands Midnight a vanilla envelope. " Here are the pictures of the bodies that you saw in the video. If I didn't see the video I would have never been even able to guess what happened to the boy." Midnight opened it to look at a couple dozen photos , but three stood out to her. The first one was the main victim of a small girl that was brutally beaten then murdered, the second one was a photo of a boy that must be in his early teens, and last the picture of what should have been the boy that murdered the young girl. " Are you saying Saya that this husk of a body is supposed to be the boy that did all this? This body doesn't look like anything in the photo of the teen." Saya sighs heavily" I know this hard to believe and a stressful situation. First off we are one official business so please try to remember to call me by my title here. We are getting dental records to confirm it , but I have no doubt that the husk of a body is what is left after the red aura takes its effect. We also found what looks like skin and muscle of a young person that 'molted' away in the bathroom. When you have a chance can you please get a photo of what your son looks like because I believe the red aura is a part of quirk that steals muscle mass.I would recommend that you get your son into therapy soon over this. "
Midnight lets out a small sob thinking of her son again and how this should have been a happy day for him. " Of course Detective Takashi after I get him home I will take a picture and a blood sample from him for you guys to use for this case. Please tell me who found out how this all allowed to happen and all the people who must have neglected to watch these children were caught! " Saya shakes her head in sorrow" The director somehow escaped here before we got her. We had two workers confess that the reason that this even happened was they didn't want to report that a knife was not accounted for the other night. As well as they snuck off to have a quickie since the children were normally behaved. The are both headed to the station to be booked for second degree murder since they should have been there." Midnight slams her hand on the desk after hearing that the main person who should be taking responsibility for this has escaped. She stands up " If you need anything else give me a call, but it looks like you guys have it handled her. I won't go do something stupid. I just want to get to my son and try to make this day a little better for him before it crushes his spirit. He already believes I will get rid of him over this. He is placing all the blame on himself." Before Detective Saya couldn't say anything Midnight left the room. She sighs while shaking her head before putting the evidence photos back in the envelope.
As all the police are swarming the grounds of the orphanage a mysterious figure looks down from a tree. " Fucking of course as soon as I get a lead to where he is. That fucking bitch of a director better have a good explanation to what the hell happened when I find her. If not I will show her why this world is scared of me. Soon we will meet again my beloved Hideaki. I can't wait. It will be a joyous event. " The figure jumps down from the tree leaving the area right before Midnight busts out of the orphanage to head back to her son.
