Shades Of Gray-Ch 19
After what seemed like forever the door opened and Natalie walked out, she stepped over to Derek and said, "she's doing good", he looked at her and said, "when can she come off of the vent"?, Natalie said, "she's already off and she'll have a sore throat for a few days, so she's been instructed not to talk a lot".
Derek laughed and said, "good luck there", Natalie laughed and said, "you can all go in to see her now", Derek said, "how is she really doing"?, Natalie said, "her wounds are healing nicely, while we were examining her I went ahead and cleaned and changed her bandages and they are looking great".
Fran said, "so any idea when she can go home"?, Natalie said, "not yet, she's doing better, a lot better and now that she's awake it hopefully won't be too much longer but I'd sat she'll be in here at least another week maybe week and a half". Sarah said, "why so long" and Natalie said, "her body has been through several major traumas and she needs time to recover and heal up some before she goes home".
Desi said, "thank you for everything you've done to help her", Natalie said, "any time, I'm just glad that things are working out this way for her because it could have easily gone the other way". Derek smiled and said, "I've been up in the NICU with the baby, I actually got to hold her today".
Natalie said, "ohhh Derek that's wonderful, I'm so happy for you", Derek said, "and she's actually gained about 7 ounces and is getting stronger and stronger with each passing day". Natalie grinned and said, "that's wonderful news so maybe soon you and your wonderful family will get to head home and start getting back to normal".
Derek sighed and said, "from your lips Natalie, from your lips", Natalie turned around and headed back toward the nurses station as Derek, Fran and the girls walked across the hall and into Penelpoes room. When she saw Derek walking toward her tears started sliding down her cheeks.
He pulled her gently into his arms and held her tight and said, "I was so afraid that I was going to lose you both", she hoarsely said, "the baby, our baby"?, Derek held out his cell and said, "she's beautiful" as he started showing her the pictures and videos of him with the baby.
About 20 minutes later Hotch and the rest of the team walked into the room and JJ said, "it's so good to see you awake Garcie", Penelope said, "it's good to be back Jayje". Hotch said, "talking should be at a minimum Garcia", Penelope nodded her head yes as Derek handed her a glass of ice water.
Fran walked over to their family and started showing them the pictures and videos that were taken earlier that morning, Reid looked up and said, "she's gorgeous guys and it's so good to see her doing better, to see you both doing better". Derek grinned and said, "that it is pretty boy, that it is".
Penelope intertwined fingers with Derek and whispered, "we need to decide on a name for her", Derek said, "I have an idea", she said, "don't keep me in suspense handsome". Derek said, "what do you think about Angela Francine Morgan"?, Penelope grinned and said, "our little angel, I love it".
Derek sat down beside his wife and wrapped her up in his arms and said, "I love you, I love you so much", she laid her head down on his shoulder and whispered, "I love you too handsome, so so much". They sat wrapped in each others arms as they watched their family as they watched the videos of Derek and the baby on his phone.
