Shades Of Gray-Ch 24
Around 10 the next morning Derek and Penelope were enjoying some time together in the back yard with their daughter when his cell phone rang. He put is on speaker and said, "yeah momma, what's up"?, Fran said, "just calling to check on some of my favorite people", he laughed and said, "we're good momma, just sitting in the back yard enjoying this beautiful day".
Fran said, "it is a beautiful day isn't it"?, Derek said, "it sure is, I'm here with my two girls and we're together and just sitting around not really doing nothing but being together". She sighed and said, "that's what we're doing too, we just decided to take today and relax and just be together".
Penelope said, "how's papa bear"?, Fran snickered and said, "believe it or not he's laying here beside me on the couch with his head in my lap". Derek said, "well he is getting old momma", Dave said, "bit your tongue youngster" causing everybody to laugh.
Dave said, "how's my grandbaby doing"?, Derek said, "she's doing great, she's sitting here in her mommy's arms just looking around". Fran said, "I still remember you at that age, ohhhh Derek you were so cute", Derek said, "was, momma are you trying to say that I'm ugly"?, Fran laughed and said, "no sir I'm not, God has graced me with three beautiful babies".
Penelope said, "I couldn't agree more with ya Fran", Derek leaned in and kissed her lips gently and Dave said, "heyyyyyyyyyyyyy get a room already". Derek said, "we have a house filled with them old man", Dave said, "I'll old man you" causing Derek to laugh again, Dave then said, "your mom doesn't have any complaints about this old man".
Derek said, "ewwwww Dave, TMI, TMI" and Dave said, "I'm just stating the facts son, just stating the facts" and Derek said, "well my baby girl doesn't have any complaints either". He looked at Penelope and said, "do you baby girl"?, she said, "none at all angel fish, none at all".
Dave said, "well we'll just call it even then" and Derek laughed and said, "sounds good, sounds good", Fran said, "well I'll get off here and let you three enjoy today, I just wanted to call and check on you guys this morning", Derek said, "call anytime momma, call anytime" and Fran smiled and said, "we love you" and Derek and Penelope in unison said, "we love you tooooooooo" as the call ended.
Derek then kissed his wife on the lips and said, "and I love you", she winked at him and said, "I love you more", he said, "not possible" before pulling her in for another kiss before spending the rest of the day with his wife and daughter.
