I Know I'll Find You.

Mitsuha and Yotsuha Miyamizu have been resettled in Tokyo and are getting on with their lives, but there's still the dream that she can't understand and the yearning for the 'Mystery Boy'. Will she ever find him? (a day in the life of Mitsuha and Yotsuha with a happy ever after ending!)

Mitsuha Miyamizu opened her eyes. Morning again, I keep having this same dream, every morning when I wake up there's this feeling that something, someone is missing from my life.

The cell phone on the side table started to ring looking at the caller I.D. it was her younger sister Yotsuha. Still half asleep Mitsuha reached over and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Good morning Sis, sorry to wake you." Yotsuha was a morning person, unlike her sister, with a voice too cheery for this time of the morning Yotsuha continued. "I was just checking in to see if we're still on for the weekend."

"Yes, no problem. See you tonight."

"Okay, bye."

Mitsuha was standing in her usual position in the train by the door; she was already late getting home. Just as the train pulled into her stop, her phone rang.

"Sis, I'm here already, where are you?"

"I'm sorry Yotsuha I was delayed at work, I'm just getting off the train now, I'll be there soon."

"Well technically I'm not exactly at your place; I'm in the McDonalds down the street."

"Oh aren't you a nice sister buying me a refreshing drink after a hard day."

"Ha! That's what you think!" Yotsuha stopped in mid sentence. "No way! OMG sis you'll never believe who's working at this store, one of those girls from your old school that always gave you a hard time."

"Oh yeah, Her. I walk out if I see her behind the counter. She always said she was going to be a rich executive type, huh! Karma's a bitch!"

Arriving at the front of the store Mitsuha could see her sister through the glass; she waved and beckoned her to come outside. Yotsuha picked up her things and walked outside.

Walking down the street to her apartment, Mitsuha punched in the door code and held the door open for her sister.

"Why thank you, you are so kind" Yotsuha laughed.

"Get inside." Mitsuha laughed in return.

Collecting her mail and walking up the stairs to her apartment, a young good looking man passed them by.

"Oooh he's cute." Yotsuha teased her sister when the man was out of earshot. "Do you know him? Ever asked him in for coffee?"

"No I think he's new in the building."

Teasingly Yotsuha said "What if he's your 'Mystery Man?"

"He's not."

"How do you know?"

"Cause when I look him in the eye there's nothing."

"I see, I think." Yotsuha replied with a puzzled look on her face.

Turning the key in the lock they went inside. Mitsuha laid her bag on the end table and walked to the small kitchenette. Yotsuha plomped herself onto the futon that doubled as a bed.

"I haven't had a chance to go shopping sis, is Ramen okay?"

"Anything's fine." She said picking up the remote and switching on the Television.

While the water was boiling for the ramen Mitsuha opened her mail. A colourful envelope with a picture of a bride and Groom embossed into it caught her eye.

"Oh look, it's an invitation for Saya and Teshie's wedding, didn't I always said they'd make a great couple, it just took a while for them to see it."

Sitting on the day bed / futon they ate their dinner, in between mouthfuls Mitsuha asked.

"So how is school?"

"Ahh its okay, I think my science teacher hates me!"

"Why is that? You're a good student; you always have your assignments handed in on time."

"I know, maybe I'm just worrying over nothing."

"How's your room mate? Are you two still getting along?"

"Yeah she's okay."

"What's wrong Yotsuha? You sound like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders."

"I need some sisterly advice. There's this boy in School and he asked me to go see a movie with him next weekend."

"So, what's wrong with that? Don't you like him?"

"Well, sort of, I just don't think I'm ready for a relationship."

"Slow down girl, it's just a movie."

Later that evening when they went to bed and all was quiet except for the noise of the City outside Yotsuha whispered.

"Sis, are you awake?"

"No!" came the mumbled reply.

"I have a confession. You know how I caught you feeling your boobies a few times."

"That wasn't me!" Mitsuha said getting annoyed.

"Oh yeah, that's right! It was your dream boy doing that! Well I've been doing it myself a few times. I hope it's not hereditary!"

"It's not hereditary; they're your boobs, feel 'em whenever you want!"

"Sis?"

"Now what?"

"Don't get cross with me, but you've been holding on for almost eight years, what if you never meet this guy? How much longer can you go on?"

"Don't worry Yotsuha, sometimes I think to myself, should I give up? But I know in my heart that I can't. I'm gonna find him."

Yotsuha giggled.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, it's just you reminded me of that song by Lisa Stansfield. "I don't know where my baby is, but I'm gonna find him."

"Maybe I should use it as my ring tone."

"Either that or "You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones."

"Hey!" Annoyed Mitsuha elbowed her sister in the ribs.

"Oww that hurt! You got me right in the booby!"

"Well rub it better then."

A few more minutes passed before Yotsuha said.

"Sis, do you ever miss our old life?"

Mitsuha replied. "Sometimes, but I think I enjoyed it more when I was younger. One thing I don't miss is the Kuchikamizake she chuckled!"

Yotsura whispered. "Sometimes when I'm stressed about exams and alone in my room I perform the Shrine Maiden's Dance. It relaxes me."

Yawning and rolling over on to her side Yotsuha said "Well, good night Mitsuha, Sweet Dreams Ha Ha."

"Very funny, good night Yotsuha."

A few weeks later Yotsuha's phone rang and as she fumbled around for it in the dark, she noticed the time through sleepy eyes. Mitsuha the display read.

"Sis! It's four in the morning" she groaned. "What's so important that it couldn't wait for a few more hours?"

"I found Him!" She exclaimed

"Found who?"

"The boy from my dream!" she said excitedly.

"Who, the booby feeler?"

"Yes!"

Now wide awake Yotsuha said "That's great! Details, I need details!" she squealed ducking the pillow that was thrown from the other side of the room.

"Well I was on the train coming home from work and I was standing near the door and when I looked out he was on another train beside me! I got off at the next station and looked around but I couldn't see him anywhere. So I left the station and started walking around some nearby streets. Just when I thought he had gotten away I was walking down these steps and I saw a man at the bottom. We passed halfway down and he said, "Excuse me, do I know you from somewhere?" I looked into his eyes and knew he was the one! So we went for a walk to a nearby Cafe and we talked for hours! The poor shop owner wanted to close up already!"

"Hooray! Does this mean there'll be a double wedding coming up? I can't wait to be an Aunty!"

Laughing, Mitsuha said. "Whoa, hold your horses kiddo, give us a chance to get to know one and other first."

"I'm very happy for you Sis, What's his name?"

"Taki, His name is Taki."

The End.
