There was pain in the dark, and a lot of it. Kagome was drifting, floating down an endless river and the light was leaving her.
"Miko!" Someone growled, but Kagome couldn't answer, she was drowning now. Sinking deeper.
'Who is that? He sounds familiar… Almost panicked...'
"Miko!" The growl came again. "You will not dishonor this one's father by dying at the hands of one so much less than you!"
'What is he talking about? Who is he talking to?'
"Are you so weak that you can not control your own soul!?"
'Weak? Why does he mean, what about m-my soul?' Kagome asked the dark as she drifted back towards the surface of the water that was all consuming.
"Ku-ku, you waste your time dog. Kikyo's soul will be mine, and that girl will cease to exist."
"You will refrain from referring to this one with your filthy mouth. Hn, it would seem you are the one who is wasting their time."
"W-what that's impossible! How is she pulling it back?! What is she?"
There was a splatter and a strangled noise, words were exchanged but they were quite; hushed. As a rushing sound and an explosion pounded against her ear drums.
"You will wake, Miko."
With a gasp she sat up from the basin of water she had been resting in. Wide blue eyes clashed with molten amber.
"Sesshomaru?" She gasped again clutching at her chest where an ache had settled. Golden orbs narrowed and his lips turned down with a sneer.
"Hn. Come." Then he turned away from her and made his way back down the cliff side.
She followed without thinking, her usual anger at being commanded missing as wonder and confusion filled her.
'Why is he mad?'
