I was confident.
Nay.
I was frigging proud of my work, if I do say so myself.
At first light, we were herded by Beacon's staff toward the cliffs.
I damn well skipped whistling a happy tune while making way towards the launcher platform I unlocked.
By my side, a certain heiress struggled to keep the peace while at the same time avoiding to draw attention. She was short and I already had my growth spurt.
For shame, a real shame that I have to make you hate me. You are so smol. But I had a mission. And I soldiered on.
I was a mere step away from my launcher when a veritable whirlwind of rose petals ripped the air.
I blinked and in front of me was a petite student with a sniper rifle resting at her shoulder…
-"Uhm...could I use that platform, please?"
She looked down at the metal pad on the floor. Then right at me.
-"Nope."
By this time, Miss Schee reached our spot.
-"A pleasure to m- YOU!"
She rounded-up on the platform-stealing sniper and seethed.
The derailer of plans grinned from ear to ear.
-"ME!"
Ok, I had to concede that was darn too funny.
I was distracted by the comeback and couldn't dodge the had that dragged me away.
-"Mr Arc, we don't need to associate with the likes of her. Here, these two places are unoccupied."
As my boots left trails on the ground, the short stuff with her rifle waved at us.
