"Get off..." Kenna moans tiredly when Bash tries to wake her up. She feels his chuckle against her skin and can't help but let out a smile of her own. "Don't you have a job to get to?"
"I'm taking the morning off," he replies. "I was thinking we could take the horses out for a ride."
Kenna turns over to face him. "Really?"
"Mhm. I want to spend the whole morning with you, my wife," he tells her, nuzzling his nose against her forehead as her hand reaches the nape of his neck. "I'll grab a shower. How about you make us the protein shakes that you love?"
Kenna nods, kissing his cheek as he leaves their bed for the bathroom. She gets out of the bed herself, looking for her pyjama shorts and her shirt. Getting dressed, she heads downstairs and starts preparing the protein shakes, even making three slices of toast and bringing out the jam, butter and lemon curd.
She feels tingly, running her fingertips over her lips when she remembers what happened the night before. A smile grows on her face as she sighs happily, feeling satisfied and elated. Then that awakens a pit of desire at the bottom of her stomach.
After getting breakfast ready and the shakes ready for their horse ride, she heads upstairs and joins Bash in his long shower, making her chuckle when she feels the coldness of the water.
"Someone got a little excited this morning, hmm?" She asks teasingly, massaging his shoulders.
"I can't enough of you," Bash mutters huskily, turning around and forcing her against the wall of the shower with multiple kisses.
"I love you," she mumbles against his lips.
He grins. "I love you too, Beautiful."
She stares at him in disbelief. He's not called her that in ages. Maybe things are really looking up for them as she brings his head back down for another kiss, being lifted up as her legs wind around his waist.
...
They ride side by side, their horses inching closer every now and then and Bash eventually reaches his hand out to her. Kenna laughs, taking it and he squeezes it, their horses continuing to ride aimlessly before their hands tear apart when Kenna's horse decides to explore what the grass has to offer on the other side.
"So stubborn," Kenna says with a tut.
"I'll rear her," Bash assures her. "Hey, see the cabin up ahead?"
Kenna nods. "I do."
"Race you there."
And then he's off, his horse settling into a gallop as she quickly springs to action with her own horse. She laughs at his cheating and he looks back to grin at her as she urges her horse to catch up with him.
She's definitely going to get a sore butt after.
He slows down a little and she overpasses him and wins their little race. As a victory dance, she rides around him and his black stallion, stroking the mane of her brown beauty.
"I let you win," he tells her.
Kenna snorts, rolling her eyes. "Arsehole," she jests, hopping off her horse and taking her gloves off.
"I could have helped you down," Bash says, getting down from his horse. He pulls her into his arms, her arms winding around his neck as she leans up for a kiss. He pulls away though. "There's a reason I wanted us to get to the cabin."
Kenna tilts her head. "Oh?"
He whispers into her ear and she blushes, grinning happily before she feels a kiss on her forehead and then he's nibbling her ear.
"So... I can have my way with you?" She asks, pulling him to the cabin door by the collar.
"You won."
"Huh. No wonder you let me win," she breathes out in disbelief before she grins and giggles when he lifts her into his arms, kicking the door closed behind them.
...
"It's freezing cold..."
"Imagine how people used to live back in the 1500s or something," Bash replies, pulling the furs over them some more. "My great-great-great-grandad had this cabin built. I guess that's the 1700s or 1800s or something."
Kenna raises her brows in surprise. "Wow. This place is a little Valois museum."
"And we've just had sex on the bed built by his two hands," her husband replies, laughing. "I'll go light a fire."
Kenna kisses him once before she watches as the furs fall off his frame and he heads to the fireplace in the bedroom area. Soon, the fire is lit and he returns back to the bed, muttering something about should have bringing actual duvets if they were going to end up in bed.
"Doesn't matter," she tells him, crawling on top of him. "We can warm each other up easily."
He wraps his arms around her waist. "Oh, yeah?"
"Mhm," she hums. "Definitely."
Kenna leans down, kissing him long and hard, her tongue slipping into his mouth as he groans against her. Her hand massages his hip as her other one cups his cheek, feeling warmed up already.
Suddenly, she stops, pulls away and sits on him. She runs her hands down his toned chest, his green eyes meeting her browns in confusion.
"What's wrong?"
"We're in the honeymoon stage again," she breathes out in wonder. "Sex all the time, secret getaways, horse rides... Then it will all just go, poof!"
Bash sighs, reaching a hand up to slip her hair behind her ear. "Nothing's going to go 'poof'," he says softly.
"It's too good to be true," she says, her voice breaking.
"Well, if that's the case," Bash starts shakily. "Let's make the most of our ceasefire."
Kenna laughs, tears streaming down her cheeks before she kisses him. "I may have won but you definitely deserve a reward."
Bash laughs and it's music to her ears.
