Ravens Flight
James Potter, Lord of the most ancient and noble house of potter was in a dilemma. The order of the Phoenix had intercepted the lady Lefay Arguably the single most powerful person in the Magical british establishment as the headmaster was wanting to gain her to the side of the light. The fact that she was a Demon hunter was a good sign for such a thing to happen. James himself had followed for different reasons.
This woman was a complete enigma, The first sighting of her had been at the summoning. She had appeared instead of his little girl. So the possibility of the woman having answers about his daughter's whereabouts were a possibility. The next was the fact that she seemed to be able to pass through the wards at potter manor without triggering them. This worried him as until she said that she had been there he had not known.
The last was her showing up to defend Ivy. The woman was a bundle of contradictions. And it made his head hurt just trying to figure them out. So watching the confrontation he could not help but wonder what she looked like under the mask. It was not the mask of those cowards used by the death eaters no this was a warrior's helm similar to those used by the goblin guards. A head piece used for protection, its stylization was for intimidation.
From his years of Auror work he had picked up the ability to read how people hold themselves. This woman reminds him of one person. His father. A man who fought in the war against Grindelwald in the harshest of conditions. If this young woman holds herself like him then James can only Imagine what she has been through. It was then that a spell struck her mask.

After their quarry had escaped using the unknown method of transport once again Every one retreated back to the meeting place at grimmauld place. The meeting itself was not for a few hours so as to give the other members time to be able to gather so Excusing himself he headed back to the manner. He had things he needed to look up.
Upon his arrival he headed to one of the two specialised galleries one is the library which stores the accumulated family knowledge from over the years. The other however is much more important and heavily guarded. It is the hall of ancestors. A room that contains a living portrait of every person to hold the name potter.
Upon entering James could feel the scrutiny of all of his ancestors eyes upon him, waiting to hear his reason for disturbing their hallowed hall. He had to be careful as many amongst them were the lords of potter themselves and would be judging him against their own standards. It was one reason why despite the wealth of wisdom and knowledge that could be gained that few trespassed in this room.
"James don't just stand there you came for a reason and it must be important or you would have went anywhere but here, spit it out" barked the voice of his father Charlus, his mother sitting in a large upholstered seat beside the man in their portrait.
Well he wasn't lying. For all of his bluster and ego having his family reject him was not something he thought he could handle so he avoided this option at all costs. So with a sigh he steeled himself.
"I find myself at a quandary, and to properly understand I shall begin from the previous lord's death as you will have been informed up to then." James said to the portraits getting nods as they did tell each other their stories when they arrived.
"Upon the death of my father the war with the dark lord took a turn for the worse. My children had just been born and the attacks were increasing. It was then that we were informed of a prophecy." This got mixed reactions, some scoffing while others looked worried. "It was due to this that my family went into hiding. Long story short we were betrayed and the dark lord led directly to us in an attempt to kill my children." he explained getting a look of rage on the previous lord's faces.
"My family survived obviously, however there were some injuries. My son gained a curse mark and was thought to have been the one who had repealed the curse upon the dark lord. My daughter was also exposed to the curse and the healer could not detect her magic any more." he explained.
Silence. Utter silence enveloped the hall. As James explained what happened The decisions made the reasons why what happened occured. To say that no one was happy was an understatement.
"So you have brought us up to date. The ministry is still as corrupt as ever. Albus is still poking his nose where it should not be. To make things worse there is a dark lord on the rise again. This however does not explain why you have come before us." Charlus said to his son. The portrait was not happy about his granddaughter having been left out in the non magical world. It was of his opinion that she should have been raised by the family and thus she would have been able to be given whatever options she wanted in life.
"Well it was revealed that the lady Lefay, the warrior lady that saved my daughter from the false charges, was none other than Raven." James sighed out. It still weighed on him heavily. The fact that his own daughter had been abandoned even if it was for her own good.
It was here that one of the older lords spoke up. " Use my tapestry, If she is connected by blood it should give some basic information. Enough to work with. I designed it as such so that the lord would be able to keep track of all kin in the clan. It is updated via blood and family magics so even if they do not recognise or are no longer bound to the clan, the blood bond will be sufficient.

Upon reaching the door of the Lord's office he sighed. This was the most heavily guarded room within the entire manor due to it holding the most sensitive materials held by the family. It was due to this that it was guarded with heavy wards and locking spells. This was the reason that for the majority of his work he just used a study on the ground floor so as not to have to bother to deactivate and reactivate the many wards upon the room.
The unfortunate side effect of his using his small study though was that he had forgotten about this room. Starting the deactivation process he wondered what he would find. The last time he was in here was to register his children as kin. He had not really paid much attention to what the room had held.
When the door opened he looked around and found what looked like a normal office. Cabinets lined the walls each labeled with different things, 'Contracts', 'alliances', 'Debts' and so on. All the important paperwork of an ancient family.
Walking across the room he looked at the wall to see a tree design, Shaped to resemble yggdrasil the world tree of norse mythology. On it were the names of each member of the clan.
Touching his own name his face appeared in the trunk of the tree on the tapestry below which contained all of his essential information. His name, age, date of birth and parents. It also showed a small tied off growth to lily meaning a marriage.
It was here that the issues began James Jr and Ivy were both as they should be. Small branches coming from him and lily still growing as was expected. All of the information was to be expected and the pictures checked out so the magic was working correctly. He had never brought Iris near this so it should work for Raven.
Looking at the third branch it was blackened and dieing. As if something had happened. The name shown was not potter. It showed Raven Branwen. This might explain why she does not recognise herself as a potter maybe?
Looking at the displayed information he became confused. Her name as said was Raven Branwen, her age was flickering between sixteen and twenty six herthe rest was as it should be but what confused him was the ties to her branch.
There was what looked to be a spouse tied to her, the branch however was too withered to show any clear information. And without the blood tie to get the information. At this James sighed at what seemed to be a dead end until to his horror he saw a brand new branch developing below ravens . It was small, That of a childs. He really hoped that it did not mean what he thought it did. Using his wand he tapped the small sprout. And accessed the information.
Name: Pheonix Branwen
Age: 2
D.O.B: xx,xx,xxxx
Mother: Raven Branwen, Summer Branwen nee Rose
Father/Uncle: Tai Xiao long
And there was a picture of a little girl with golden blonde hair in the same 'Plumage' that he had seen from Raven just not as grand due to her young age. Deep amethyst eyes compared to her mother's Red. She also seemed to have a smile that could light up a room even from the tapestry.
James' heart almost broke when he realised what they had done. He now knew why his girl was so angry with them. They had torn her away from her daughter. Worse than that her infant daughter. He would be infuriated at that.
Armed with this new information he set out to head back to the meeting and what was likely not going to be a pleasant conversation with his family.

James was sitting there in the kitchen in Grimmuald place As the Order Discussed the events of the day. Albus was briefing the members on what had happened but James was not paying attention, his mind was back at the tapestry and the information that he had found. He could not help but wonder how this would affect his family. How this would affect everything.
With the dark lord coming back would he try to hunt his granddaughter? Wasn't that a strange thought. Him James Potter the marauder Prongs was a grandfather. It was then he noticed that the headmaster was motioning for him to continue the briefing.
"As the headmaster said, the person summoned aided Iris in the trial and we gained a name 'Raven Branwen' however thanks to an incident when the headmaster was attempting to talk to her the mask she was wearing was knocked off." at this he shot a subtle glare at the Weasley boys direction too quickly for most to notice.
"Due to this we got a view of the young woman's face." James explained to the group while bracing himself for what was to come . A good amount of the people were not there or had been at a bad angle and could not see properly.
"Our Mystery woman Looks just like an Elder Iris." James broke to the group causing a large uproar. Confusion and shock were rife amongst the occupants of the room. Did this mean that they had found the real child who lived? If so where was she surely she should be here to be protected!
Once order was restored James continued. "I did some checking using an ancient family tapestry which uses the family magics to monitor the status of the clan." at this most nodded while others noted what he had tactfully not said due to the strict laws on those types of magic.
"I tend to avoid the room that the tapestry is hung in for personal reasons. So when I checked it, and checked that its magics were still working I noticed a few changes." taking a breath. James prepared for what he was about to reveal.
"The first change was that there was now no Raven potter. The name was now Raven branwen" he explained in a dull voice confirming that the woman that they had confronted was in fact his lost daughter. "But that is not all right?" Asked lily with worry in her eyes as she saw right through him.
"No, next was a Summer Branwen nee rose. Partner to Raven." this caused a ripple to run around the room, He was glad that he had timed it right so that he would cause Sirius to do a spit take, though his enjoyment was short lived.
"James, are you saying that our daughter is married!?" Lily asked slightly shaken only to receive a nod from her husband. "And that she married a woman!?" again a nod. At this there were looks of shock at this revelation.
The young granger girl spoke here "how can that be, she should not be able to, she is not of age in either the muggle nor the magical world. !" the girl exclaimed.
James sighed as he was still confused about what the tapestry had shown as his daughter's age. "I am not sure on how, but i can take a guess on why she is so angry with us." This drew everyone's interest, especially the headmaster who decided to rejoin the conversation at this juncture.
"Oh my boy and what reason might that be?" asked the old teacher. His eyes twinkling at the possibility of an answer to a particularly troubling question. James took a second to formulate his reply before he started to answer.
"Raven Is a Mother. The Tapestry Shows that she has a daughter called Phoenix Branwen" The enormity of this statement left the room slack jawed. How? Isn't she still a child? Isn't she James Jrs twin? So she should be fifteen or thereabouts? Answers where needed quickly before anything else goes wrong.
