After a hot, long, shower, she managed to get the bloodstains from her cloths. She felt much better, despite the fang marks left on her neck that reminded her of her situation, her hair covered it fine.
Collecting her things with Damon's deadline was the most tense and awkward experience ever... but she got it done collecting them quickly enough. She didn't have much, just her bag really, which she tossed under the bed.
Noting Damon wasn't yet home- or showing himself, she went to the kitchen to make herself something to eat, option for a sandwich. Walking into the living room on the way back to her room, Cassie came face to face with Elena Gilbert. Elena stared at her for a second, mouth open.
"Oh I uh, the door was open.." Cassie blinked. "Uh-uh... you must be Elena." Elena nodded. "That me.. and you are?"
"I'm Cassandra Harris, but please call me Cassie." Cassie introduced herself. Elena smiled, but looked anxious. "So.. do you uh... live here?" She asked, clearly trying to pry for information. Cassie decided to put the poor girl out of her misery, it was clear Elena was insecure about a woman living where Stefan lived, although it's kinda annoying, she can see how this might look to her. Anxiety always pulls the worse case scenario.
"I'm living here for the time being. So you're the Elena Stefan's been head over heels for." Cassie took a bite out of her sandwich and Elena blushed. Aw, so sweet... she's so young. Seventeen year old girl.
She's a child. Cassie suddenly felt very uneasy about Elena's future, and disliked how it played out, how many people were going to use her.
She's the same as age my little brother. I... I have to do something about everything that's going to happen. Elena cannot go through the hell that she does... she's going to loose everyone. First her parents, then she's gonna loose her Aunt to Klaus, her brother to Kathrine, her friends, everyone she knows will die at least once, and some don't come back. I get why the fans hated her but... we expect different things from real life people than we do fictional ones? We expect Elena to know and get everything, to do everything right. She's just a kid. Just a girl. She's a real person now.
Damon suddenly spoke up. "Cassie... who's this?" Damon looked over at Elena, and Cassie could feel herself tense. Vampires aren't something your scared of when they can't touch you. Damon... Damon kills people for fun, and he does not care who he hurts. He's dangerous and damaged. Elena... he rips her life apart. He and Stefan ruin her. Everyone always blames Elena for them arguing... but who's life was destroyed? I need to figure out how to stop all the tragedy.
"This is Elena Gilbert." Cassie eyes Damon warily, and Elena greets Damon, making small talk while Cassie's heartbeat mimics a nightclub. Okay, okay, breath. Calm down. Calm down. Cassie kept poker face, even as Damon made his way over to her, leaning into her, and wrapping an arm around her waste. Cassie froze, nearly dropping her sandwich, her body very close to shaking at this point.
"Calm down little witch, you're making this worse for yourself." Cassie tensed at his words, and realized he probably could hear her heartbeat. God if this is how I react to a normal vampire... I'd loose it in front of an original. I need to desensitize myself. I need to keep my cool. I need... a drink.
Cassie pulled away from Damon, and headed towards where she figure the alcohol was, Damon watched her. "Hey... don't drink the good stuff." Cassie shot him a glare, then poured herself a glass, taking a sip.
I hate the taste of alcohol, but this should take off the edge. She took a few more sips, and sat down, noticing Stefan had made an appearance. Cassie stared at the boy, trying to picture the murderous ripper that impressed even Klaus Mikaelson with his cruelty.
Yeah... she probably should have just skipped town when she could... now she's a vampire's live in snack/witch.
Oh yeah she was a witch, she keeps forgetting that fact... because she's still new to that... mess... ugh.
A loud crash snapped her out of her thoughts, and she looked up to see that Stefan had been thrown across the room. Abruptly, Cassie stood, and walked up the stairs wanting to avoid any conflicts. Reaching her room and closing the door, she took a sharp breath in, the fear causing adrenaline to pump through her veins.
Maybe Damon left or-
"Hey Witchy." Cassie tensed at his voice, and turned to see Damon, who stood behind her. She put on her best brave face, but discovered speaking wasn't a good idea so she aimed for meeting his eyes.
She didn't like the look in them. She backed away from him, and Damon just smirked as she felt her entire body urging her to run.
"I've come to make good on our deal.. that is, I hope you aren't trying to avoid me." Said the vampire, and Cassie paused. He was here for blood, and she wasn't prepared, mentally or physically to deal with that. But she had to, for the sake of whatever poor innocent soul might be lost if she rejects him... and she did promise. It was a deal, and she couldn't break deals this early on in the game. Especially since she was certain breaking this deal would cost her, her life.
"Nothing of the sort... so how to did you want to do this? Wrist, neck?" Cassie asked, her nerves getting to her, as she felt rather awkward asking such questions. Damon walked over to her, and brushed back her hair, causing the witch to shudder in disgust. He was behind her, she could feel his breath on her neck.
"Oh I prefer the neck." He whispered, and she stood very still, his fingers gliding over the marks he'd made previously. Cassie waited for a moment, then she felt his fangs against her throat, piercing the flesh and she dug her fingernails into her palms to distract herself from the pain. It was gentler this time, not as quick and harsh as before. It still hurt, burned, almost. She just waited for him to be done and over.
Then he was. Damon pulled away from her, and she reached for her neck, wincing. Staring at her, Damon stared at her. She looked at him, and then he looked away. Cassie blinked, and he was gone, moving away faster than she could see.
She made her way to the bathroom, and began cleaning the wound, making a mental note in the future to get herself turtle necks, and scarfs. He'd bitten her on the other side.
Cassie stared at herself, then closed her eyes. It's just a bite or two. You can survive this... you can. She opened her eyes again, this time it was different. She wasn't a victim. She put herself into this situation, this it what she need to do in order to save everyone and survive.
She has control, and she will master her powers...
Then enjoy frying Damon's brains.
Well, Cassie coping with her new life, poor Stefan having Stefan problems and Cassie's met the main character! Let me know what you think in the comment section! Is Damon OOC?
