Kay had woken up the next morning as she and Darjeeling went to the meeting room to discuss what their plans were. Kay was more than eager to get back at the two of them for what they had done to their school. The more experienced students were sitting around as they were busy discussing what they would do.
"We got the news that the Saunders School ship was under attack by the rebels and they managed to take over the ship. Well we're gathering plans on taking the ship back with everything we got. According to Erwin, he and his expeditionary forces have landed on the western portion of the carrier right near where you were evacuated last night and are hiding in the shadows until reinforcements arrive with the supplies to drive the rebels back. Also the rebels are being supplied at the front end of the ship so if we can sink deep into their land route upon which they have taken station there, we should be able to split them into two. However with so many students on the ship, they can counter attack and take the port we're being supplied from, trapping us and we'll run out of supplies. We need to secure the north first before we move in." Darjeeling was planning everything out using the intel that Erwin managed to record. Kay soon spoke.
"So it's basically a war on logistics that will determine this victory?" Kay asked, wondering what their plan was. Darjeeling looked at Kay.
"Exactly. Erwin said he'll cover all of the logistics for the war and it will be our job to secure the victories along the fronts if we are going to contest them." Darjeeling told Kay as she knew their only shot was to starve the enemy out as one of the middle school students began to speak.
"Also there will be no way that Srednyaya shkola russkikh koroley could transport their students and supplies to the ship fast enough if we fight with very aggressive tactics. Once we manage to trap one of the teams at their own port, they will have no way the other side could come to their rescue. Even though Srednyaya shkola russkikh koroley have large numbers of students on their side, their students are under equipped and ill-prepared to resist as they, much like Yuri herself, rely mostly on intimidation tactics to preserve her precarious holdings. If we can get through to their forces, we can be able to crush them easily within a matter of weeks. If cut in half, Yuri's only port will be over clogged with supplies making the defeat of the other side much easier to manage since they have stretched supply lines." One of the male students explained about what was going to happen. Kay looked at him as he was drawing out the plans as Darjeeling looked at him.
"Very good Antonio, how do you suspect that we secure ourselves in the new positions? And the other ships helping them out?" Darjeeling asked him if she knew the plans. Antonio looked at Darjeeling as he began to speak.
"Simple, we just ask help from the Japanese navy so that Russia doesn't get involved since we don't need to escalate the conflict more than it needs to be. Also according to the weather reports the school is gathering, we're getting a heavy fog bank rolling in so we should be able to transport the airsoft machine guns and artillery over while we drop the students over using the helicopters to secure key locations and get into contact with the supply lines." Antonio explained as he was helping Erwin out with this. "Judging from the explosion from the school, it must have blown the ammunition storage so they won't have much to work off of in terms of firepower unless the other schools supply them with more. Even then it would be a difficult process."
"You definitely seem to be quite knowledgeable about the other schools so when the fog bank rolls in, we should be able to slip to the other school under the cover of it. They'll not be able to notice the fog and once an area is secured, ferry the students over under the cover of darkness for Operation Baked Ziti!" Anchovy shouted as she wanted to make her plans fool proof. Antonio looked at Anchovy as he spoke.
"I do appreciate your efforts Il Duce, but this operation will be called Hej Slovaci, end of story." Antonio responded by silencing Anchovy. Kay looked at them as they had a code name for the operation but now she was wondering, who was going to be leading them.
"Got any idea who is going to be leading the groups as we charge straight into the fray? I don't want to be caught out in the open seeing how we'll be fighting in groups." Kay asked as she was wondering what they will be doing as a result. Darjeeling looked at her as she began to speak.
"Well the groups I want to assign to are the groups that will be heading out of their way to fighting the rebels head on for that, Erwin's friend whom I know very little about. But seeing how she won her school, I guess we should give her the shot." Darjeeling responded, she soon slid her the files as she began to speak. "The said student's last name is Kaya and she promised after the match she is going to give us nothing but a full victory. I hope she is willing to do that and not back down."
"Yeah and based on her, I suspect we'll lose high numbers of students on both sides since she fights like a modern day Samurai general." Kay told Darjeeling as she didn't know much about the student but based on the reports she had been reading it looked like the girl would fit perfectly into Chi-Ha-Tan. Kinuyo looked at Kay as she began to speak.
"She will do her utmost duty to make sure that the rebellion is crushed. And based on the pictures, she will most likely fight to the last student standing." Kinuyo responded as she knew that the student was keen on not running away as Kinuyo was just a new student but much like the student in the photos.
"Yeah I've heard a thing or two about her and based on the reports, she'll most likely get nothing but victory for us." One of the two Kuromorimine volunteer students spoke as she knew that the student would get what they needed. She soon continued to speak. "Only reason Kuromorimine is accepting her is just for her leadership skills and bravery that she displayed at the matches as I suspect that she will be replacing my little sister." Darjeeling looked at her as she began to speak to the Kuromorimine students.
"Patience does it Maho, with the Kuromorimine leadership gutted, I suspect you would take the spot as leader of your team instead of letting a new student assume leadership. We don't want to make the same mistakes compared to the match that ended your streak." Darjeeling told her as Erika got a bit mad at her.
"Well excuse me, we're only getting her just for the hell of it." Erika snapped as soon a hand came down banging on the desk.
"Listen the only way we should be able to crush the rebels if we all coordinate properly otherwise the plans will fall apart." The female student snapped at them. They turned their heads as the student was in a black and red uniform for her games but her uniform also had golden markings signaling she was the leader. Darjeeling soon looked at her as she began to speak to her as she wanted to quiet them down.
"Okay miss Kaya, don't be so snappy on it." Darjeeling responded as she wanted the girl to be calm about it. They soon looked at her as she began to speak out.
"Our plans begin tonight since that fog will blanket us to the Saunders school ship, We'll have to ferry as much cargo and people to the ship if we are going to stand a chance, with that we can keep their minds focused on us long enough to break a wedge in their formations and hopefully divide their force into two. Now we don't have much time left. So Kaya-san would you like to lead the forces?"
"Right ma'am." Olivia replied as she saluted to Darjeeling. Kay looked at her as she knew she wanted to come along too.
"Hey I want to be a part of the first wave so I'll come along." Kay told her as the volunteers knew they could only take with what they were able to carry. Their weapons were a bit of an odd mix with their variety of Machine guns ranging from the Mg08/15 to the Hotchkiss Machine guns that other schools were using. Their rifles differed but were still using the 5 round stripper clips as the students prepared their attack. Most of the students were either the former Saunders students still loyal to Kay or the Verdun fields Middle School whom most of the students seemed to be like Maginot and BC Freedom. Kay soon boarded the helicopter as she, Alisa and Naomi were in the same chopper with Darjeeling. Kaya-san too was leading this as she held her Gewehr 98 rifle tight as she loaded one of the airsoft stripper clips in. Darjeeling soon made a speech.
"Okay students, we're heading to the rebel controlled Saunders School ship, I expect everyone to fight to the bitter end as the fate of the school depends on your efforts to fight. The convoys are bringing reinforcements and supplies to the port where we can begin our all-out attack. We should be jumping out in a minute. Soon Kay looked down as in the fog was the Saunders school ship as many of the students were taking the ruins of the school and setting up defenses. Olivia clutched the firecracker explosives she had on her as she looked to the others.
"I'll go first for myself. I want you to all follow me after this." Olivia soon opened the door to the helicopter as she prepared to jump out of it. Kay looked at her as she wanted to tell her to wait.
"Wait, miss, I still don't even know your name." It was too late; Olivia had jumped on Kay's last word, ignoring the introductions. Darjeeling soon jumped next followed by Kay, then Alisa and finally Naomi. The students pulled on the parachutes as they were slowly drifting down and even though the massive school ship was on the move, it was moving slowly through the fog. Kay soon landed as the others began landing around her. Kay looked up to see the others were now entering the ship.
"Well we're all back on the ship. The students from the French themed middle school have landed a bit farther from their intended zone but they are still able to work their way to the zone." Darjeeling told them as it was clear they were going to have to set up camp for the night and wait for the volunteers to follow in. Soon a parachute landed as the female student tumbled out followed by her friend.
"Jumping out of a helicopter was definitely a new experience for me." Maho replied as she dusted herself off. Erika looked on as Darjeeling nodded seeing how they managed to get out safely. Orange Pekoe soon came as she was leading a scouting force as she went to report to Darjeeling.
"Me and Antonio had found some of the rebels from the fog but we ignored them and they ignored us, they're around in the area but with night time rolling around, it is unlikely they'll engage us." Orange Pekoe gave the report. Darjeeling nodded as they knew the first battle was going to happen when the fog cleared up. Darjeeling soon began laying out the plans.
"Okay Kaya-San, I want you to take Kay to begin the thrust to the south, we'll stay behind to provide support artillery when we get into a favorable position, we'll open up." Darjeeling explained the plans as Olivia nodded. She soon turned to Kay as she had orders.
"Okay we got orders from our leader, let's move." Olivia responded as she told the students to get on it. A detachment of a couple hundred students including Kay began to move into the fog slowly as they knew the first line where Orange Pekoe had told them about what she had encountered. Using the fog and the cover of darkness, the detachment creeped along as they were going to catch Yuri completely by surprise. Orange Pekoe was waiting for the fog to lift. As the night wore on, the artillery and machine guns began arriving as they were now stockpiling the supplies and when morning came and the fog has cleared, Olivia was within a hundred yards of the rebels as they were asleep or wandering around, The detachment was roughly of same strength as Kay pulled out her portable radio to Darjeeling.
"We spot the rebels as they are in their camp, permission to engage?" Kay asked as she wanted to take them by surprise. Darjeeling nodded as the firecracker howitzers were in place.
"Fire!" Darjeeling shouted. A battery of 25 howitzer guns began spitting firecracker rounds at the rebels. The rebels were sleeping in their camp as they heard the whirling of incoming shells. Soon the shells landed and began exploding. The students in their camp were awoken by the shells of incoming artillery, they soon began scrambling to get some of their own working but Darjeeling's barrage had destroyed a good number of them. Olivia waited in the brush wondering when the barrage was finished. Soon the barrage quieted down as Olivia soon pulled out the dummy rifle bayonet. She soon got on top of a large boulder as she looked down at Kay before she screamed:
"TENNO HEIKA BANZAI!" Olivia screamed as she leaped off of the rock as the students began charging from their cover, the rebels looked as many of their legs were burned with pieces of firecrackers that were bombarding them. Some of them got their guns working as they began firing off a few shells at a time, the burns while not severe were definitely going to leave their marks as a warning. The students saw this as they began to split up seeing where the shells were landing as they continued the charge. Kay was trying to keep up but how was this 8th grader running so fast? Olivia took out a shovel as she leaped at the rebels, smacking one of them with the shovel before turning back, bashing another one in the face. Olivia soon grabbed the rifle she had on her as she fired a plastic pellet at the charging student; the student flinched before Olivia bashed the student in the head with the butt of the rifle, knocking that student out. Kay soon caught up as she fired off several shots at the attacking students to provide support. She wasn't used to a bolt action rifle such as this but it was what she was issued. The fighting lasted for another 90 minutes before the rebels began falling back as Olivia was battered but triumphant that she won the first land battle of the war. Kay picked up the radio as she began to report. Olivia picked up a piece of the firecracker as she dropped it due to it still being very hot. She covered her hand and turned. "I'll certainly miss this ammunition if it gets phased out."
"Darjeeling, the rebels are falling back, we took a gun count as they had 24 artillery guns in that camp, we managed to destroy and capture about 21 of the 24. We even managed to capture some of the said rebels that we managed to beat to a pulp and we're taking them back." Kay reported as they had crossed one of the school ship's artificial rivers to get to the camp. Darjeeling nodded as they pulled off a victory.
"Very good, Kay, your objective is to secure the rest of the width of the school ship so we can effectively cut them off as I send replacements to Kaya-san's position so she can continue the push to the port where the rebels are being resupplied from in terms of the fastest route to resupplying them." Darjeeling gave her orders. Kay nodded as she soon spoke.
"Got it." Kay soon turned with her detachment as they turned to the left and began to pursue their objectives, while no other battles were fought; this first one was a victory for them. Yuri had kicked the hornets' nest and the hornets were ready for a fight.
[A/N]: The first of many battles which the students are going to partake in. Yuri is truly in trouble now as she is facing against everyone else that is going to be helping Kay out. Next chapter will be Yuri's first taste of battle against the most aggressive student of Kay's force. Goodbye.
